Numbers 26
1 and to be after [the] plague and to say LORD to(wards) Moses and to(wards) Eleazar son: child Aaron [the] priest to/for to say
It came about after the plague that Yahweh spoke to Moses and Eleazar son of Aaron the priest. He said,
2 to lift: count [obj] head: count all congregation son: descendant/people Israel from son: aged twenty year and above [to] to/for house: household father their all to come out: regular army: war in/on/with Israel
“Count all the community of the people of Israel, from twenty years old and up, by their ancestor's families, all who are able to go to war for Israel.”
3 and to speak: speak Moses and Eleazar [the] priest with them in/on/with Plains (of Moab) (Plains of) Moab upon Jordan Jericho to/for to say
So Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke to them in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho and said,
4 from son: aged twenty year and above [to] like/as as which to command LORD [obj] Moses and son: descendant/people Israel [the] to come out: come from land: country/planet Egypt
“Count the people, from twenty years old and up, as Yahweh commanded Moses and the people of Israel, who came out of the land of Egypt.”
5 Reuben firstborn Israel son: descendant/people Reuben Hanoch family [the] Hanochite to/for Pallu family [the] Palluite
Reuben was the firstborn of Israel. From his son Hanok came the clan of the Hanokites. From Pallu came the clan of the Palluites.
6 to/for Hezron family [the] Hezronite to/for Carmi family [the] Carmite
From Hezron came the clan of the Hezronites. From Karmi came the clan of the Karmites.
7 these family [the] Reubenite and to be to reckon: list their three and forty thousand and seven hundred and thirty
These were the clans of Reuben, who numbered 43,730 men.
8 and son: child Pallu Eliab
Eliab was a son of Pallu.
9 and son: child Eliab Nemuel and Dathan and Abiram he/she/it Dathan and Abiram (chosen *Q(K)*) [the] congregation which to struggle upon Moses and upon Aaron in/on/with congregation Korah in/on/with to struggle they upon LORD
Eliab's sons were Nemuel, Dathan, and Abiram. These were the same Dathan and Abiram who followed Korah when they challenged Moses and Aaron and rebelled against Yahweh.
10 and to open [the] land: soil [obj] lip her and to swallow up [obj] them and [obj] Korah in/on/with to die [the] congregation in/on/with to eat [the] fire [obj] fifty and hundred man and to be to/for ensign
The earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up together with Korah when all his followers died. At that time, fire devoured 250 men, who became a warning sign.

But Korah's line did not die out.

These were the clans of Simeon's descendants, who numbered 22,200 men.
15 son: descendant/people Gad to/for family their to/for Zephon family [the] Zephonite to/for Haggi family [the] Haggi to/for Shuni family [the] Shunite
The clans of Gad's descendants were these: Through Zephon, the clan of the Zephonites, through Haggi, the clan of the Haggites, through Shuni, the clan of the Shunites,
16 to/for Ozni family [the] Oznite to/for Eri family [the] Erite
through Ozni, the clan of the Oznites, through Eri, the clan of the Erites,
17 to/for Arod family [the] Arodi to/for Areli family [the] Areli
through Arod, the clan of the Arodites, through Areli, the clan of the Arelites.
18 these family son: descendant/people Gad to/for to reckon: list their forty thousand and five hundred
These were the clans of Gad's descendants, who numbered 40,500 men.
19 son: descendant/people Judah Er and Onan and to die Er and Onan in/on/with land: country/planet Canaan
Judah's sons were Er and Onan, but these men died in the land of Canaan.
20 and to be son: descendant/people Judah to/for family their to/for Shelah family [the] Shelanite to/for Perez family [the] Perezite to/for Zerah family [the] Zerahite
The clans of Judah's other descendants were these: through Shelah, the clan of the Shelanites, through Perez, the clan of the Perezites, and through Zerah, the clan of the Zerahites.

The descendants of Perez were these: Through Hezron, the clan of the Hezronites, through Hamul, the clan of the Hamulites.

These were the clans of Judah's descendants, who numbered 76,500 men.
23 son: descendant/people Issachar to/for family their Tola family [the] Tolaite to/for Puah family [the] Punite
The clans of Issachar's descendants were these: Through Tola, the clan of the Tolaites, through Puah, the clan of the Puites,
24 to/for Jashub family [the] Jashubite to/for Shimron family [the] Shimronite
through Jashub, the clan of the Jashubites, through Shimron, the clan of the Shimronites.
25 these family Issachar to/for to reckon: list their four and sixty thousand and three hundred
These were the clans of Issachar, who numbered 64,300 men.
26 son: descendant/people Zebulun to/for family their to/for Sered family [the] Seredite to/for Elon family [the] Elonite to/for Jahleel family [the] Jahleelite
The clans of Zebulun's descendants were these: Through Sered, the clan of the Seredites, through Elon, the clan of the Elonites, through Jahleel, the clan of the Jahleelites.
27 these family [the] Zebulunite to/for to reckon: list their sixty thousand and five hundred
These were the clans of the Zebulunites, who numbered 60,500 men.
28 son: descendant/people Joseph to/for family their Manasseh and Ephraim
The clans of Joseph's descendants were Manasseh and Ephraim.
29 son: descendant/people Manasseh to/for Machir family [the] Machirite and Machir to beget [obj] Gilead to/for Gilead family [the] Gileadite
The descendants of Manasseh were these: through Makir, the clan of the Makirites (Makir was Gilead's father), through Gilead, the clan of the Gileadites.
30 these son: descendant/people Gilead Iezer family [the] Iezerite to/for Helek family [the] Helekite
Gilead's descendants were these: Through Iezer, the clan of the Iezerites, through Helek, the clan of the Helekites,
31 and Asriel family [the] Asrielite and Shechem family [the] Shechemite
through Asriel, the clan of the Asrielites, through Shechem, the clan of the Shechemites,
32 and Shemida family [the] Shemidaite and Hepher family [the] Hepherite
through Shemida, the clan of the Shemidaites, through Hepher, the clan of the Hepherites.

Zelophehad son of Hepher had no sons, but only daughters. The names of his daughters were Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milkah, and Tirzah.

These were the clans of Manasseh, who numbered 52,700 men.
35 these son: descendant/people Ephraim to/for family their to/for Shuthelah family [the] Shuthelahite to/for Becher family [the] Becherite to/for Tahan family [the] Tahanite
The clans of Ephraim's descendants were these: Through Shuthelah, the clan of the Shuthelahites, through Beker, the clan of the Bekerites, through Tahan, the clan of the Tahanites.
36 and these son: descendant/people Shuthelah to/for Eran family [the] Eranite
The descendants of Shuthelah were, by Eran, the clan of the Eranites.
37 these family son: descendant/people Ephraim to/for to reckon: list their two and thirty thousand and five hundred these son: descendant/people Joseph to/for family their
These were the clans of Ephraim's descendants, who numbered 32,500 men. These were Joseph's descendants, counted in each of their clans.
38 son: child Benjamin to/for family their to/for Bela family [the] Belaite to/for Ashbel family [the] Ashbelite to/for Ahiram family [the] Ahiramite
The clans of Benjamin's descendants were these: Through Bela, the clan of the Belaites, through Ashbel, the clan of the Ashbelites, through Ahiram, the clan of the Ahiramites,
39 to/for Shephupham family [the] Shuphamite to/for Hupham family [the] Huphamite
through Shephupham, the clan of the Shuphamites, through Hupham, the clan of the Huphamites.

Bela's sons were Ard and Naaman. From Ard came the clan of the Ardites, and from Naaman came the clan of the Naamites.

These were the clans of Benjamin's descendants. They numbered 45,600 men.
42 these son: descendant/people Dan to/for family their to/for Shuham family [the] Shuhamite these family Dan to/for family their
The clans of Dan's descendants were, by Shuham, the clans of the Shuhamites. These were the clans of Dan's descendants.
43 all family [the] Shuhamite to/for to reckon: list their four and sixty thousand and four hundred
All the clans of the Shuhamites numbered 64,400 men.
44 son: descendant/people Asher to/for family their to/for Imnah family [the] Imnah to/for Ishvi family [the] Ishvite to/for Beriah family [the] Beriite
The clans of Asher's descendants were these: Through Imnah, the clan of the Imnites, through Ishvi, the clan of the Ishvites, through Beriah, the clan of the Beriites.
45 to/for son: descendant/people Beriah to/for Heber family [the] Heberite to/for Malchiel family [the] Malchielite
The descendants of Beriah were these: Through Heber, the clan of the Heberites, through Malkiel, the clan of the Malkielites.
46 and name daughter Asher Serah
The name of Asher's daughter was Serah.

These were the clans of Asher's descendants, who numbered 53,400 men.

These were the clans of Naphtali's descendants, who numbered 45,400 men.
51 these to reckon: list son: descendant/people Israel six hundred thousand and thousand seven hundred and thirty
This was the complete count of men among the people of Israel: 601,730.
52 and to speak: speak LORD to(wards) Moses to/for to say
Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,
53 to/for these to divide [the] land: country/planet in/on/with inheritance in/on/with number name
“The land must be divided among these men as an inheritance according to the number of their names.
54 to/for many to multiply inheritance his and to/for little to diminish inheritance his man: anyone to/for lip: according to reckon: list his to give: give inheritance his
To the larger clans you must give more inheritance, and to the smaller clans you must give less inheritance. To every family you must give an inheritance according to the number of men who were counted.
55 surely in/on/with allotted to divide [obj] [the] land: country/planet to/for name tribe father their to inherit
However, the land must be divided by random lots. They must inherit the land as it will be divided among their ancestors' tribes.
56 upon lip: according [the] allotted to divide inheritance his between many to/for little
Their inheritance must be divided among the larger and the smaller clans, distributed to them by random lot.”
57 and these to reckon: list [the] Levi to/for family their to/for Gershon family [the] Gershonite to/for Kohath family [the] Kohathite to/for Merari family [the] Merari
The Levite clans, counted clan by clan, were these: Through Gershon, the clan of the Gershonites, through Kohath, the clan of the Kohathites, through Merari, the clan of the Merarites.
58 these family Levi family [the] Libnite family [the] Hebronite family [the] Mahlite family [the] Mushite family [the] Korahite and Kohath to beget [obj] Amram
The clans of Levi were these: the clan of the Libnites, the clan of the Hebronites, the clan of the Mahlites, the clan of the Mushites, and the clan of the Korahites. Kohath was the Amram's ancestor.
59 and name woman: wife Amram Jochebed daughter Levi which to beget [obj] her to/for Levi in/on/with Egypt and to beget to/for Amram [obj] Aaron and [obj] Moses and [obj] Miriam sister their
The name of Amram's wife was Jochebed, a descendant of Levi, who was born to Levites in Egypt. She bore to Amram their children, who were Aaron, Moses, and Miriam their sister.
60 and to beget to/for Aaron [obj] Nadab and [obj] Abihu [obj] Eleazar and [obj] Ithamar
To Aaron were born Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.
61 and to die Nadab and Abihu in/on/with to present: bring they fire be a stranger to/for face: before LORD
Nadab and Abihu died when they offered before Yahweh unacceptable fire.
62 and to be to reckon: list their three and twenty thousand all male from son: aged month and above [to] for not to reckon: list in/on/with midst son: descendant/people Israel for not to give: give to/for them inheritance in/on/with midst son: descendant/people Israel
The males who were counted among them numbered twenty-three thousand, all males one month old and up. But they were not counted among Israel's descendants because no inheritance was given to them among the people of Israel.
63 these to reckon: list Moses and Eleazar [the] priest which to reckon: list [obj] son: descendant/people Israel in/on/with Plains (of Moab) (Plains of) Moab upon Jordan Jericho
These are the ones who were counted by Moses and Eleazar the priest. They counted the people of Israel in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho.
64 and in/on/with these not to be man: anyone from to reckon: list Moses and Aaron [the] priest which to reckon: list [obj] son: descendant/people Israel in/on/with wilderness (Wilderness of) Sinai
But among these there was no man who had been counted by Moses and Aaron the priest when the descendants of Israel were counted in the wilderness of Sinai.
65 for to say LORD to/for them to die to die in/on/with wilderness and not to remain from them man: anyone that if: except if: except Caleb son: child Jephunneh and Joshua son: child Nun
For Yahweh had said that all of those people would certainly die in the wilderness. There was not a man left among them, except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.
