Numbers 25
1 and to dwell Israel in/on/with Shittim and to profane/begin: begin [the] people to/for to fornicate to(wards) daughter Moab
| וַיֵּ֥שֶׁב יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל בַּשִּׁטִּ֑ים וַיָּ֣חֶל הָעָ֔ם לִזְנֹ֖ות אֶל־בְּנֹ֥ות מֹואָֽב׃ |
2 and to call: call to to/for people to/for sacrifice God their and to eat [the] people and to bow to/for God their
| וַתִּקְרֶ֣אןָ לָעָ֔ם לְזִבְחֵ֖י אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֑ן וַיֹּ֣אכַל הָעָ֔ם וַיִּֽשְׁתַּחֲוּ֖וּ לֵֽאלֹהֵיהֶֽן׃ |
3 and to join Israel to/for Baal of Peor Baal of Peor and to be incensed face: anger LORD in/on/with Israel
| וַיִּצָּ֥מֶד יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לְבַ֣עַל פְּעֹ֑ור וַיִּֽחַר־אַ֥ף יְהוָ֖ה בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ |
4 and to say LORD to(wards) Moses to take: take [obj] all head: leader [the] people and to dislocate/hang [obj] them to/for LORD before [the] sun and to return: turn back burning anger face: anger LORD from Israel
| וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוָ֜ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֗ה קַ֚ח אֶת־כָּל־רָאשֵׁ֣י הָעָ֔ם וְהֹוקַ֥ע אֹותָ֛ם לַיהוָ֖ה נֶ֣גֶד הַשָּׁ֑מֶשׁ וְיָשֹׁ֛ב חֲרֹ֥ון אַף־יְהוָ֖ה מִיִּשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ |
5 and to say Moses to(wards) to judge Israel to kill man: anyone human his [the] to join to/for Baal of Peor Baal of Peor
| וַיֹּ֣אמֶר מֹשֶׁ֔ה אֶל־שֹׁפְטֵ֖י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל הִרְגוּ֙ אִ֣ישׁ אֲנָשָׁ֔יו הַנִּצְמָדִ֖ים לְבַ֥עַל פְּעֹֽור׃ |

| וְהִנֵּ֡ה אִישׁ֩ מִבְּנֵ֨י יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל בָּ֗א וַיַּקְרֵ֤ב אֶל־אֶחָיו֙ אֶת־הַמִּדְיָנִ֔ית לְעֵינֵ֣י מֹשֶׁ֔ה וּלְעֵינֵ֖י כָּל־עֲדַ֣ת בְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְהֵ֣מָּה בֹכִ֔ים פֶּ֖תַח אֹ֥הֶל מֹועֵֽד׃ |
7 and to see: see Phinehas son: child Eleazar son: child Aaron [the] priest and to arise: rise from midst [the] congregation and to take: take spear in/on/with hand his
| וַיַּ֗רְא פִּֽינְחָס֙ בֶּן־אֶלְעָזָ֔ר בֶּֽן־אַהֲרֹ֖ן הַכֹּהֵ֑ן וַיָּ֙קָם֙ מִתֹּ֣וךְ הָֽעֵדָ֔ה וַיִּקַּ֥ח רֹ֖מַח בְּיָדֹֽו׃ |
8 and to come (in): come after man Israel to(wards) [the] tent and to pierce [obj] two their [obj] man Israel and [obj] [the] woman to(wards) belly her and to restrain [the] plague from upon son: descendant/people Israel
| וַ֠יָּבֹא אַחַ֨ר אִֽישׁ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל אֶל־הַקֻּבָּ֗ה וַיִּדְקֹר֙ אֶת־שְׁנֵיהֶ֔ם אֵ֚ת אִ֣ישׁ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְאֶת־הָאִשָּׁ֖ה אֶל־קֳבָתָ֑הּ וַתֵּֽעָצַר֙ הַמַּגֵּפָ֔ה מֵעַ֖ל בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ |
9 and to be [the] to die in/on/with plague four and twenty thousand
| וַיִּהְי֕וּ הַמֵּתִ֖ים בַּמַּגֵּפָ֑ה אַרְבָּעָ֥ה וְעֶשְׂרִ֖ים אָֽלֶף׃ פ |
10 and to speak: speak LORD to(wards) Moses to/for to say
| וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר׃ |
11 Phinehas son: child Eleazar son: child Aaron [the] priest to return: turn back [obj] rage my from upon son: descendant/people Israel in/on/with be jealous he [obj] jealousy my in/on/with midst their and not to end: destroy [obj] son: descendant/people Israel in/on/with jealousy my
| פִּֽינְחָ֨ס בֶּן־אֶלְעָזָ֜ר בֶּן־אַהֲרֹ֣ן הַכֹּהֵ֗ן הֵשִׁ֤יב אֶת־חֲמָתִי֙ מֵעַ֣ל בְּנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל בְּקַנְאֹ֥ו אֶת־קִנְאָתִ֖י בְּתֹוכָ֑ם וְלֹא־כִלִּ֥יתִי אֶת־בְּנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל בְּקִנְאָתִֽי׃ |
12 to/for so to say look! I to give: give to/for him [obj] covenant my peace
| לָכֵ֖ן אֱמֹ֑ר הִנְנִ֨י נֹתֵ֥ן לֹ֛ו אֶת־בְּרִיתִ֖י שָׁלֹֽום׃ |
13 and to be to/for him and to/for seed: children his after him covenant priesthood forever: enduring underneath: because of which be jealous to/for God his and to atone upon son: descendant/people Israel
| וְהָ֤יְתָה לֹּו֙ וּלְזַרְעֹ֣ו אַחֲרָ֔יו בְּרִ֖ית כְּהֻנַּ֣ת עֹולָ֑ם תַּ֗חַת אֲשֶׁ֤ר קִנֵּא֙ לֵֽאלֹהָ֔יו וַיְכַפֵּ֖ר עַל־בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ |
14 and name man Israel [the] to smite which to smite with [the] Midianite Zimri son: child Salu leader house: household father to/for Simeon
| וְשֵׁם֩ אִ֨ישׁ יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל הַמֻּכֶּ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֤ר הֻכָּה֙ אֶת־הַמִּדְיָנִ֔ית זִמְרִ֖י בֶּן־סָל֑וּא נְשִׂ֥יא בֵֽית־אָ֖ב לַשִּׁמְעֹנִֽי׃ |
15 and name [the] woman [the] to smite [the] Midianite Cozbi daughter Zur head: leader people house: household father in/on/with Midian he/she/it
| וְשֵׁ֨ם הָֽאִשָּׁ֧ה הַמֻּכָּ֛ה הַמִּדְיָנִ֖ית כָּזְבִּ֣י בַת־צ֑וּר רֹ֣אשׁ אֻמֹּ֥ות בֵּֽית־אָ֛ב בְּמִדְיָ֖ן הֽוּא׃ פ |
16 and to speak: speak LORD to(wards) Moses to/for to say
| וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר׃ |
17 to vex [obj] [the] Midianite and to smite [obj] them
| צָרֹ֖ור אֶת־הַמִּדְיָנִ֑ים וְהִכִּיתֶ֖ם אֹותָֽם׃ |
18 for to vex they(masc.) to/for you in/on/with trick their which to plot to/for you upon word: thing Peor and upon word: thing Cozbi daughter leader Midian sister their [the] to smite in/on/with day [the] plague upon word: thing Peor
| כִּ֣י צֹרְרִ֥ים הֵם֙ לָכֶ֔ם בְּנִכְלֵיהֶ֛ם אֲשֶׁר־נִכְּל֥וּ לָכֶ֖ם עַל־דְּבַר־פְּעֹ֑ור וְעַל־דְּבַ֞ר כָּזְבִּ֨י בַת־נְשִׂ֤יא מִדְיָן֙ אֲחֹתָ֔ם הַמֻּכָּ֥ה בְיֹום־הַמַּגֵּפָ֖ה עַל־דְּבַר־פְּעֹֽור׃ |
