Setelah tembok itu selesai dibangun, aku menyuruh supaya daun-daun pintunya dipasang. Lalu penjaga-penjaga pintu gerbang, para penyanyi dan orang-orang Lewi kusuruh melakukan tugasnya masing-masing.

Yerusalem kota yang luas tetapi hanya sedikit penduduknya, dan belum banyak rumah yang dibangun.

Pada kesempatan itu telah kutemukan catatan tentang orang-orang yang pertama-tama kembali dari pembuangan. Berikut ini adalah keterangan yang kuperoleh dari catatan itu:
