Nehemiah 3

1 and to arise: rise Eliashib [the] priest [the] great: large and brother: male-relative his [the] priest and to build [obj] gate [the] Sheep (Gate) they(masc.) to consecrate: consecate him and to stand: stand door his and till Tower (of the Hundred) [the] (Tower of) the Hundred to consecrate: consecate him till tower (Tower of) Hananel

Then rose up Elyashib the high priest with his brethren the priests, and they built the sheep-gate; they sanctified it, and set up its doors: even as far as the tower of Meah did they sanctify it, as far as the tower of Chananel.

2 and upon hand: themselves his to build human Jericho and upon hand: themselves his to build Zaccur son: child Imri

And by his side built the men of Jericho. And by his [other] side built Zaccur the son of Imri.

3 and [obj] gate [the] Fish (Gate) to build son: child [the] Senaah they(masc.) to lay beams him and to stand: stand door his bolt his and bar his

But the fish-gate did the sons of Hassenaah build: they also laid its beams, and set up its doors, its locks, and its bars.

4 and upon hand: themselves their to strengthen: strengthen Meremoth son: child Uriah son: child Hakkoz and upon hand: themselves their to strengthen: strengthen Meshullam son: child Berechiah son: child Meshezabel and upon hand: themselves their to strengthen: strengthen Zadok son: child Baana

And alongside of them repaired Meremoth the son of Uriyah, the son of Kakkoz. And alongside of them repaired Meshullam the son of Berechyah, the son of Meshezabel. And alongside of them repaired Zadok the son of Ba'ana.

5 and upon hand: themselves their to strengthen: strengthen [the] Tekoa and great their not to come (in): come neck their in/on/with service lord their

And alongside of them repaired the Teko'ites; but their principal men put not their necks to the work of their Lord.

6 and [obj] gate [the] (Gate of) Yeshanah to strengthen: strengthen Joiada son: child Paseah and Meshullam son: child Besodeiah they(masc.) to lay beams him and to stand: stand door his and bolt his and bar his

Moreover the old gate repaired Yoyada' the son of Passeach, and Meshullam the son of Bessodeyah: they laid its beams, and set up its doors, and its locks, and its bars.

7 and upon hand: themselves their to strengthen: strengthen Melatiah [the] Gibeonite and Jadon [the] Meronothite human Gibeon and [the] Mizpah to/for throne: seat governor side: beside [the] River

And alongside of them repaired Melatyah the Gib'onite, and Jadon the Meronothite, men of Gib'on and of Mizpah, unto the seat of the governor on this side of the river.

8 upon hand: themselves his to strengthen: strengthen Uzziel son: child Harhaiah to refine and upon hand: themselves his to strengthen: strengthen Hananiah son: type of [the] perfumer and to restore Jerusalem till [the] (Broad) Wall [the] Broad

Alongside of him repaired 'Uzziel the son of Charhayah, of the goldsmiths. And alongside of him repaired Chananyah the son of one of the apothecaries, and they fortified Jerusalem as far as the broad wall.

9 and upon hand: themselves their to strengthen: strengthen Rephaiah son: child Hur ruler half district Jerusalem

And alongside of them repaired Rephayah the son of Chur, the chief of the half of the district of Jerusalem.

10 and upon hand: themselves their to strengthen: strengthen Jedaiah son: child Harumaph and before house: home his and upon hand: themselves his to strengthen: strengthen Hattush son: child Hashabneiah

And alongside of them repaired Jedayah the son of Charumaph, and this opposite to his house. And alongside of him repaired Chattush the son of Chashabneyah.

11 measure second to strengthen: strengthen Malchijah son: child Harim and Hasshub son: child Pahath-moab Pahath-moab and [obj] Tower (Of the Ovens) [the] (Tower of) the Ovens

Another division did Malkiyah the son of Charim, and Chashub the son of Pachathmoab, repair, as also the tower of the ovens.

12 and upon hand: themselves his to strengthen: strengthen Shallum son: child Hallohesh ruler half district Jerusalem he/she/it and daughter his

And alongside of him repaired Shallum the son of Hallochesh, the chief of the other half of the district of Jerusalem, he and his daughters.

13 [obj] gate [the] Valley (Gate) to strengthen: strengthen Hanun and to dwell Zanoah they(masc.) to build him and to stand: stand door his bolt his and bar his and thousand cubit in/on/with wall till gate [the] Dung (Gate)

The gate of the valley repaired Chanun, and the inhabitants of Zanoach: they built it, and set up its doors, its locks, and its bars, and a thousand cubits of the wall as far as the dung-gate.

14 and [obj] gate [the] Dung (Gate) to strengthen: strengthen Malchijah son: child Rechab ruler district Beth-haccherem Beth-haccherem he/she/it to build him and to stand: stand door his bolt his and bar his

And the dung-gate repaired Malkiyah the son of Rechah, the chief of the district of Beth-hakkerem: he built it, and set up its doors, its locks, and its bars.

15 and [obj] gate [the] Fountain (Gate) to strengthen: strengthen Shallum son: child Col-hozeh Col-hozeh ruler district [the] Mizpah he/she/it to build him and to cover him (and to stand: stand *Q(K)*) door his bolt his and bar his and [obj] wall pool [the] Shelah to/for garden [the] king and till [the] step [the] to go down from city David

And the gate of the fountain repaired Shallum the son of Col-chozeh, the chief of the district of Mizpah: he built it and covered it, and set up its doors, its locks, and its bars, and the wall of the pool of Shelach by the king's garden, and as far as the stairs that lead down from the city of David.

16 after him to strengthen: strengthen Nehemiah son: child Azbuk ruler half district Beth-zur Beth-zur till before grave David and till [the] pool [the] to make and till house: home [the] mighty man

Next to him repaired Nehemiah the son of 'Azbuk, the chief of the half district of Beth-zur, as far as the place opposite to the sepulchres of David, and as far as the pool that was [newly] made, and as far as the house of the mighty men.

17 after him to strengthen: strengthen [the] Levi Rehum son: child Bani upon hand: themselves his to strengthen: strengthen Hashabiah ruler half district Keilah to/for district his

Next to him repaired the Levites: Rechum the son of Bani. Alongside of him repaired Chashabyah, the chief of the half district of Ke'ilah, for his district.

18 after him to strengthen: strengthen brother: male-relative their Bavvai son: child Henadad ruler half district Keilah

Next to him repaired their brethren: Bavai the son of Chenadad, the chief of the [other] half district of Ke'ilah.

19 and to strengthen: strengthen upon hand: themselves his Ezer son: child Jeshua ruler [the] Mizpah measure second from before to ascend: rise [the] weapon [the] corner

And there repaired alongside of him 'Ezer the son of Joshua, the chief of Mizpah, another division, opposite to the ascent to the armory at the angle.

20 after him to be incensed to strengthen: strengthen Baruch son: child (Zaccai *Q(K)*) measure second from [the] corner till entrance house: home Eliashib [the] priest [the] great: large

Next to him did Baruch the son of Zaccai' earnestly repair another division, from the angle as far as the door of the house of Elyashib the high priest.

21 after him to strengthen: strengthen Meremoth son: child Uriah son: child Hakkoz measure second from entrance house: home Eliashib and till limit house: home Eliashib

Next to him repaired Meremoth the son of Uriyah the son of Hakkoz another division, from the door of the house of Elyashib even as far as the end of the house of Elyashib.

22 and after him to strengthen: strengthen [the] priest human [the] talent

And next to him repaired the priests, the men of the plain [of Jordan].

23 after him to strengthen: strengthen Benjamin and Hasshub before house: home their after him to strengthen: strengthen Azariah son: child Maaseiah son: child Ananiah beside house: home his

Next to him repaired Benjamin and Chashub opposite to their house. Next to him repaired 'Azaryah the son of Ma'aseyah the son of 'Ananyah alongside of his house.

24 after him to strengthen: strengthen Binnui son: child Henadad measure second from house: home Azariah till [the] corner and till [the] corner

Next to him repaired Binnui the son of Chenadad another division, from the house of 'Azaryah as far as the angle, and as far as the corner.

25 Palal son: child Uzai from before [the] corner and [the] tower [the] to come out: issue from house: home [the] king [the] high which to/for court [the] guardhouse after him Pedaiah son: child Parosh

Palal the son of Uzai [repaired] from opposite to the angle, and the tower which standeth out from the king's upper house, that was by the court of the prison. Next to him Pedayah the son of Par'osh.

26 and [the] temple servant to be to dwell in/on/with Ophel till before gate [the] Water (Gate) to/for east and [the] tower [the] to come out: issue

And the temple-servants dwelt on the hill fort, [and they built] as far as opposite to the water-gate toward the east, and the tower that standeth out.

27 after him to strengthen: strengthen [the] Tekoa measure second from before [the] tower [the] great: large [the] to come out: issue and till wall [the] Ophel

Next to them repaired the Teko'ites another division from opposite the great tower that standeth out, and as far as the wall of the hill fort.

28 from upon gate [the] Horse (Gate) to strengthen: strengthen [the] priest man: anyone to/for before house: home his

From above the horse-gate repaired the priests, every one opposite to his house.

29 after him to strengthen: strengthen Zadok son: child Immer before house: home his and after him to strengthen: strengthen Shemaiah son: child Shecaniah to keep: guard gate [the] East (Gate)

Next to this repaired Zadok the son of Immer opposite to his house. And next to him repaired Shema'yah the son of Schechanyah, the keeper of the east gate.

30 (after him *Q(K)*) to strengthen: strengthen Hananiah son: child Shelemiah and Hanun son: child Zalaph [the] sixth measure second after him to strengthen: strengthen Meshullam son: child Berechiah before chamber his

Next to him repaired Chananyah the son of Shelemyah, and Chanun the sixth son of Zalaph another division. Next to him repaired Meshullam the son of Berechyah opposite to his chamber.

31 (after him *Q(K)*) to strengthen: strengthen Malchijah son: descendant/people [the] goldsmith till house: home [the] temple servant and [the] to trade before gate [the] Muster (Gate) and till upper room [the] corner

Next to him repaired Malkiyah the goldsmith's son as far as the house of the temple-servants, and of the merchants, opposite to the mustering-gate, and to the upper chamber of the corner.

32 and between upper room [the] corner to/for gate [the] Sheep (Gate) to strengthen: strengthen [the] to refine and [the] to trade

And between the upper chamber of the corner and the sheep-gate repaired the goldsmiths and the merchants.
