Ní oṣù Nisani, ní ogún ọdún ìjọba ọba Artasasta, nígbà tí a gbé wáìnì wá fún un, mo gbé wáìnì náà, mo fi fún ọba, ìbànújẹ́ kò hàn ní ojú mi rí ní iwájú rẹ̀.
2 and to say to/for me [the] king why? face your bad: harmful and you(m. s.) nothing you be weak: ill nothing this for if: except evil heart and to fear to multiply much
Nítorí náà ni ọba béèrè lọ́wọ́ mi pé, “Èéṣe tí ojú rẹ fi fàro nígbà tí kò rẹ̀ ọ́? Èyí kì í ṣe ohun mìíràn bí kò ṣe ìbànújẹ́ ọkàn.” Ẹ̀rù bà mí gidigidi,
3 and to say to/for king [the] king to/for forever: enduring to live why? not be evil face my which [the] city place grave father my desolate and gate her to eat in/on/with fire
ṣùgbọ́n mo wí fún ọba pé, “Kí ọba kí ó pẹ́! Èéṣe tí ojú mi ko ṣe ní fàro, nígbà tí ìlú tí a sin àwọn baba mi sí wà ní ahoro, tí a sì ti fi iná run àwọn ibodè rẹ̀?”
4 and to say to/for me [the] king upon what? this you(m. s.) to seek and to pray to(wards) God [the] heaven
Ọba wí fún mi pé, “Kí ni ìwọ ń fẹ́?” Nígbà náà, ni mo gbàdúrà sí Ọlọ́run ọ̀run,
5 and to say to/for king if upon [the] king pleasant and if be good servant/slave your to/for face: before your which to send: depart me to(wards) Judah to(wards) city grave father my and to build her
mo sì dá ọba lóhùn pé, “Ti ó bá wu ọba, tí ìránṣẹ́ rẹ bá sì rí ojúrere ní ojú rẹ, jẹ́ kí ó rán mi lọ sí ìlú náà ní Juda níbi tí a sin àwọn baba mi nítorí kí èmi lè tún un kọ́.”
6 and to say to/for me [the] king and [the] queen to dwell beside him till how to be journey your and how to return: return and be good to/for face of [the] king and to send: depart me and to give: give [emph?] to/for him time
Nígbà náà ni ọba, pẹ̀lú ìyàwó rẹ̀ tí ó jókòó lẹ́gbẹ̀ẹ́ rẹ̀, bi mí pé, “Báwo ni ìrìnàjò náà yóò ṣe pẹ́ ọ tó, nígbà wo sì ni ìwọ yóò padà?” Ó dùn mọ́ ọba láti rán mi lọ, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni mo dá àkókò kan.
7 and to say to/for king if upon [the] king pleasant letter to give: give to/for me upon governor side: beside [the] River which to pass me till which to come (in): come to(wards) Judah
Mo sì tún wí fún ọba pé, “Bí ó bá wu ọba, kí ó fún mi ní lẹ́tà sí àwọn baálẹ̀ òkè odò Eufurate kí wọ́n le mú mi kọjá títí èmi yóò fi dé Juda láìléwu.
8 and letter to(wards) Asaph to keep: guard [the] park which to/for king which to give: give to/for me tree: wood to/for to lay beams [obj] gate [the] palace which to/for house: home and to/for wall [the] city and to/for house: home which to come (in): come to(wards) him and to give: give to/for me [the] king like/as hand: power God my [the] pleasant upon me
Kí èmi sì gba lẹ́tà kan lọ́wọ́ fún Asafu, olùṣọ́ igbó ọba, nítorí kí ó lè fún mi ní igi láti fi ṣe àtẹ́rígbà fún ibodè ilé ìṣọ́ tẹmpili àti fún odi ìlú náà àti fún ilé tí èmi yóò gbé?” Nítorí ọwọ́ àánú Ọlọ́run mi wà lórí mi, ọba fi ìbéèrè mi fún mi.
9 and to come (in): come to(wards) governor side: beside [the] River and to give: give [emph?] to/for them [obj] letter [the] king and to send: depart with me [the] king ruler strength: soldiers and horseman
Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni mo lọ sí ọ̀dọ̀ àwọn baálẹ̀ agbègbè Eufurate, mo sì fún wọn ní àwọn lẹ́tà ọba. Ọba sì ti rán àwọn ológun àti àwọn ẹlẹ́ṣin ogun pẹ̀lú mi.

Nígbà tí Sanballati ará Horoni àti Tobiah ará a Ammoni tí wọ́n jẹ́ ìjòyè gbọ́ nípa èyí pé, ẹnìkan wá láti mú ìtẹ̀síwájú bá àlàáfíà àwọn ará Israẹli inú bí wọn gidigidi.

Mo jáde ní òru pẹ̀lú àwọn ọkùnrin díẹ̀. Èmi kò sì sọ fún ẹnìkankan ohun tí Ọlọ́run mi ti fi sí ọkàn mi láti ṣe fún Jerusalẹmu. Kò sí ẹranko kankan pẹ̀lú mi, bí kò ṣe ọ̀kan ṣoṣo tí mo gùn.
13 and to come out: come [emph?] in/on/with gate [the] Valley (Gate) night and to(wards) face: before Fountain of Dragon and to(wards) gate [the] Dung (Gate) and to be to inspect in/on/with wall Jerusalem which (they(masc.) to break through *Q(K)*) and gate her to eat in/on/with fire
Ní òru, mo jáde lọ sí àfonífojì ibodè sí ìhà kànga Jakali àti sí ẹnu ibodè Ààtàn àti ẹnu ibodè rẹ̀ èyí tí ó ti wó odi Jerusalẹmu tí ó lulẹ̀, tí a ti fi iná sun.

Nígbà náà ni mo lọ sí ẹnu ibodè orísun àti sí adágún omi ọba, ṣùgbọ́n kò sí ààyè tó fún ẹranko mi láti kọjá;

bẹ́ẹ̀ ni mo gòkè àfonífojì ní òru, mo ń wo odi. Ní ìparí, mo padà sẹ́yìn, mo sì tún wọlé láti ibodè àfonífojì.
16 and [the] ruler not to know where? to go: went and what? I to make: do and to/for Jew and to/for priest and to/for noble and to/for ruler and to/for remainder to make: do [the] work till so not to tell
Àwọn olórí kò mọ ibi tí mo lọ tàbí mọ ohun tí mo ń ṣe, nítorí èmi kò tí ì sọ fún àwọn ará Júù tàbí àwọn àlùfáà tàbí àwọn ọlọ́lá tàbí àwọn ìjòyè tàbí ẹnikẹ́ni mìíràn tí yóò máa ṣe iṣẹ́ náà.
17 and to say to(wards) them you(m. p.) to see: see [the] distress: harm which we in/on/with her which Jerusalem desolate and gate her to kindle in/on/with fire to go: come! and to build [obj] wall Jerusalem and not to be still reproach
Nígbà náà ni mo sọ fún wọn pé, “Ṣé ẹ rí wàhálà tí a ni: Jerusalẹmu wà nínú ìparun, ibodè rẹ̀ ni a sì ti fi iná jó. Ẹ wá, ẹ jẹ́ kí a tún odi Jerusalẹmu mọ, àwa kò sì ní jẹ́ ẹni ẹ̀gàn mọ́”.
18 and to tell to/for them [obj] hand: power God my which he/she/it pleasant upon me and also word [the] king which to say to/for me and to say to arise: rise and to build and to strengthen: strengthen hand their to/for welfare
Èmi sì tún sọ fún wọn nípa bí ọwọ́ àánú Ọlọ́run mi ṣe wà lára mi àti ohun tí ọba ti sọ fún mi. Wọ́n dáhùn wí pé, “Ẹ jẹ́ kí a bẹ̀rẹ̀ àtúnmọ rẹ̀.” Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni wọ́n sì bẹ̀rẹ̀ iṣẹ́ rere yìí.
19 and to hear: hear Sanballat [the] Horonite and Tobiah [the] servant/slave [the] Ammon and Geshem [the] Arabian and to mock to/for us and to despise upon us and to say what? [the] word: thing [the] this which you(m. p.) to make: do upon [the] king you(m. p.) to rebel
Ṣùgbọ́n nígbà tí Sanballati ará a Horoni, Tobiah ara olóyè Ammoni àti Geṣemu ará a Arabia gbọ́ nípa rẹ̀, wọ́n fi wá ṣe ẹlẹ́yà, wọ́n sì fi wá ṣe ẹ̀sín. Wọ́n béèrè pé, “Kí ni èyí tí ẹ ń ṣe yìí? Ṣé ẹ ń ṣọ̀tẹ̀ sí ọba ni?”
20 and to return: reply [obj] them word and to say to/for them God [the] heaven he/she/it to prosper to/for us and we servant/slave his to arise: rise and to build and to/for you nothing portion and righteousness and memorial in/on/with Jerusalem
Mo dá wọn lóhùn, mo wí fún wọn pé, “Ọlọ́run ọ̀run yóò fún wa ní àṣeyọrí. Àwa ìránṣẹ́ rẹ̀ yóò bẹ̀rẹ̀ láti tún un mọ, ṣùgbọ́n fún un yin, ẹ̀yin kò ní ìpín tàbí ipa tàbí ẹ̀tọ́ ohunkóhun tí ó jẹ mọ́ ìtàn ní Jerusalẹmu.”
