Nehemiah 13

In quel tempo si lesse in presenza del popolo il libro di Mosè e vi si trovò scritto che l'Ammonita e il Moabita non dovevano mai entrare nella comunità di Dio,
2 for not to meet [obj] son: descendant/people Israel in/on/with food: bread and in/on/with water and to hire upon him [obj] Balaam to/for to lighten him and to overturn God our [the] curse to/for blessing
perché non erano venuti incontro agli Israeliti con il pane e l'acqua e perché avevano prezzolato contro di loro Balaam per maledirli, sebbene il nostro Dio avesse mutato la maledizione in benedizione.
3 and to be like/as to hear: hear they [obj] [the] instruction and to separate all racial-mix from Israel
Quando ebbero udito la legge, separarono da Israele tutto l'elemento straniero che vi si trovava mescolato.
4 and to/for face: before from this Eliashib [the] priest to give: put in/on/with chamber house: temple God our near to/for Tobiah
Prima di questo il sacerdote Eliasìb, che era preposto alle stanze della casa del nostro Dio ed era parente di Tobia,

aveva messo a disposizione di quest'ultimo una camera grande dove, prima di allora, si riponevano le offerte, l'incenso, gli arredi, la decima del grano, del vino e dell'olio, quanto spettava per legge ai leviti, ai cantori, ai portieri, e la parte che se ne prelevava per i sacerdoti.

Quando si faceva tutto questo, io non ero a Gerusalemme, perché nell'anno trentaduesimo di Artaserse re di Babilonia ero tornato presso il re; ma dopo qualche tempo, ottenuta una licenza dal re,

tornai a Gerusalemme e mi accorsi del male che Eliasìb aveva fatto in favore di Tobia, mettendo a sua disposizione una stanza nei cortili del tempio.
8 and be evil to/for me much and to throw [emph?] [obj] all article/utensil house: home Tobiah [the] outside from [the] chamber
La cosa mi dispiacque molto e feci gettare fuori dalla stanza tutte le masserizie appartenenti a Tobia;

poi ordinai che si purificassero quelle camere e vi feci ricollocare gli arredi del tempio, le offerte e l'incenso.
10 and to know [emph?] for portion [the] Levi not to give: give and to flee man: anyone to/for land: country his [the] Levi and [the] to sing to make: do [the] work
Seppi anche che le porzioni dovute ai leviti non erano state date e che i leviti e i cantori, incaricati del servizio, erano fuggiti ognuno al suo paese.
11 and to contend [emph?] with [the] ruler and to say [emph?] why? to leave: neglect house: temple [the] God and to gather them and to stand: stand them upon post their
Allora rimproverai i magistrati e dissi loro: «Perché la casa di Dio è stata abbandonata?». Poi radunai i leviti e i cantori e li ristabilii nei loro uffici.
12 and all Judah to come (in): bring tithe [the] grain and [the] new wine and [the] oil to/for treasure
Allora tutto Giuda portò ai magazzini le decime del frumento, del vino e dell'olio;
13 and to store [emph?] upon treasure Shelemiah [the] priest and Zadok [the] secretary and Pedaiah from [the] Levi and upon hand: to their Hanan son: child Zaccur son: child Mattaniah for be faithful to devise: count and upon them to/for to divide to/for brother: male-relative their
affidai la sorveglianza dei magazzini al sacerdote Selemia, allo scriba Zadòk, e a Pedaia, uno dei leviti; ai quali aggiunsi Canan figlio di Zaccur, figlio di Mattania, perché erano reputati uomini fedeli. Il loro ufficio era di fare le ripartizioni tra i loro fratelli.
14 to remember [emph?] to/for me God my upon this and not to wipe kindness my which to make: do in/on/with house: temple God my and in/on/with custody his
Ricordati per questo di me, Dio mio, e non cancellare le opere di pietà che ho fatte per la casa del mio Dio e per il suo servizio!
15 in/on/with day [the] they(masc.) to see: see in/on/with Judah to tread wine press in/on/with Sabbath and to come (in): bring [the] heap and to lift upon [the] donkey and also wine grape and fig and all burden and to come (in): bring Jerusalem in/on/with day [the] Sabbath and to testify in/on/with day to sell they food
In quei giorni osservai in Giuda alcuni che pigiavano nei tini in giorno di sabato, altri che trasportavano i covoni e li caricavano sugli asini, e anche vino, uva, fichi e ogni sorta di carichi, che introducevano a Gerusalemme in giorno di sabato; io protestai a causa del giorno in cui vendevano le derrate.
16 and [the] Tyrian to dwell in/on/with her to come (in): bring fish and all merchandise and to sell in/on/with Sabbath to/for son: descendant/people Judah and in/on/with Jerusalem
C'erano anche alcuni di Tiro stabiliti a Gerusalemme che importavano pesce e ogni sorta di merci e le vendevano ai figli di Giuda in giorno di sabato e in Gerusalemme.
17 and to contend [emph?] with noble Judah and to say [emph?] to/for them what? [the] word: thing [the] bad: evil [the] this which you(m. p.) to make: do and to profane/begin: profane [obj] day [the] Sabbath
Allora io rimproverai i notabili di Giuda e dissi loro: «Che cosa è mai questo male che fate, profanando il giorno di sabato?
18 not thus to make: do father your and to come (in): bring God our upon us [obj] all [the] distress: harm [the] this and upon [the] city [the] this and you(m. p.) to add burning anger upon Israel to/for to profane/begin: profane [obj] [the] Sabbath
I nostri padri non hanno fatto così? Il nostro Dio per questo ha fatto cadere su noi e su questa città tutti questi mali. Voi accrescete l'ira accesa contro Israele, profanando il sabato!».
19 and to be like/as as which to shade gate Jerusalem to/for face: before [the] Sabbath and to say [emph?] and to shut [the] door and to say [emph?] which not to open them till after [the] Sabbath and from youth my to stand: stand upon [the] gate not to come (in): come burden in/on/with day [the] Sabbath
Non appena le porte di Gerusalemme cominciarono a essere nell'ombra della sera, prima del sabato, io ordinai che le porte fossero chiuse e che non si riaprissero fino dopo il sabato; collocai alcuni miei servi alle porte, perché nessun carico entrasse in città durante il sabato.
20 and to lodge [the] to trade and to sell all sale from outside to/for Jerusalem beat and two
Così i mercanti e i venditori di ogni merce una o due volte passarono la notte fuori di Gerusalemme.
21 and to testify [emph?] in/on/with them and to say [emph?] to(wards) them why? you(m. p.) to lodge before [the] wall if to repeat hand to send: reach in/on/with you from [the] time [the] he/she/it not to come (in): come in/on/with Sabbath
Allora io protestai contro di loro e dissi: «Perché passate la notte davanti alle mura? Se lo farete un'altra volta, vi farò arrestare». Da quel momento non vennero più in giorno di sabato.
22 and to say [emph?] to/for Levi which to be be pure and to come (in): come to keep: guard [the] gate to/for to consecrate: consecate [obj] day [the] Sabbath also this to remember [emph?] to/for me God my and to pity [emph?] upon me like/as abundance kindness your
Ordinai ai leviti che si purificassero e venissero a custodire le porte per santificare il giorno del sabato. Anche per questo ricordati di me, mio Dio, e abbi pietà di me secondo la tua grande misericordia!
23 also in/on/with day [the] they(masc.) to see: see [obj] [the] Jew to dwell woman (Ashdod Ammon *Q(k)*) Moabite
In quei giorni vidi anche che alcuni Giudei si erano ammogliati con donne di Asdòd, di Ammòn e di Moab;
24 and son: child their half to speak: speak Ashdod and nothing they to recognize to/for to speak: speak Judahite and like/as tongue: language people and people
la metà dei loro figli parlava l'asdodeo, conosceva soltanto la lingua di questo o quest'altro popolo, non sapeva parlare giudaico.
25 and to contend with them and to lighten them and to smite from them human and to smooth them and to swear them in/on/with God if: surely no to give: give(marriage) daughter your to/for son: child their and if: surely no to lift: marry from daughter their to/for son: child your and to/for you
Io li rimproverai, li maledissi, ne picchiai alcuni, strappai loro i capelli e li feci giurare nel nome di Dio che non avrebbero dato le loro figlie ai figli di costoro e non avrebbero preso come mogli le figlie di quelli per i loro figli né per se stessi.
26 not upon these to sin Solomon king Israel and in/on/with nation [the] many not to be king like him and to love: lover to/for God his to be and to give: make him God king upon all Israel also [obj] him to sin [the] woman [the] foreign
Dissi: «Salomone, re d'Israele, non ha forse peccato appunto in questo? Certo fra le molte nazioni non ci fu un re simile a lui; era amato dal suo Dio e Dio l'aveva fatto re di tutto Israele; eppure le donne straniere fecero peccare anche lui.
27 and to/for you to hear: hear to/for to make: do [obj] all [the] distress: evil [the] great: large [the] this to/for be unfaithful in/on/with God our to/for to dwell woman foreign
Si dovrà dunque dire di voi che commettete questo grande male, che siete infedeli al nostro Dio, prendendo mogli straniere?».
28 and from son: child Joiada son: child Eliashib [the] priest [the] great: large son-in-law to/for Sanballat [the] Horonite and to flee him from upon me
Uno dei figli di Ioiadà figlio di Eliasìb, il sommo sacerdote, era genero di Sanballàt il Coronita; io lo cacciai via da me.
29 to remember [emph?] to/for them God my upon defilement [the] priesthood and covenant [the] priesthood and [the] Levi
Ricordati di loro, mio Dio, poiché hanno profanato il sacerdozio e l'alleanza dei sacerdoti e dei leviti.
30 and be pure them from all foreign and to stand: appoint [emph?] charge to/for priest and to/for Levi man: anyone in/on/with work his
Così li purificai da ogni consuetudine straniera e ristabilii i servizi dei sacerdoti e dei leviti, assegnando a ciascuno il suo lavoro.
31 and to/for offering [the] tree: wood in/on/with time to appoint and to/for firstfruit to remember [emph?] to/for me God my to/for welfare
Diedi anche disposizioni circa l'offerta della legna ai tempi stabiliti, e circa le primizie. Ricordati di me, mio Dio, per il mio bene!
