Malachi 1

1 oracle word LORD to(wards) Israel in/on/with hand: by Malachi

The prophecy of the word of the Lord to Israel by means of Malachi.

2 to love: lover [obj] you to say LORD and to say in/on/with what? to love: lover us not brother: male-sibling Esau to/for Jacob utterance LORD and to love: lover [obj] Jacob

I have loved you, so hath said the Lord: yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Is not Esau brother to Jacob? saith the Lord: yet I loved Jacob;

3 and [obj] Esau to hate and to set: make [obj] mountain: mount his devastation and [obj] inheritance his to/for jackal wilderness

And Esau I hated; and I rendered his mountains a desert, and his heritage a dwelling for the monsters of the wilderness.

4 for to say Edom to beat and to return: rescue and to build desolation thus to say LORD Hosts they(masc.) to build and I to overthrow and to call: call by to/for them border: area wickedness and [the] people which be indignant LORD till forever: enduring

Should Edom even say, We are impoverished; but we will return and build the ruined places: thus hath said the Lord of hosts, They may indeed build, but I will surely throw down; and men shall call them, The territory of wickedness, and, The people against whom the Lord hath indignation to eternity.

5 and eye your to see: see and you(m. p.) to say to magnify LORD from upon to/for border: boundary Israel

And your eyes shall see it; and ye shall then say, The Lord will be magnified beyond the territory of Israel.

6 son: child to honor: honour father and servant/slave lord his and if father I where? glory my and if lord I where? fear my to say LORD Hosts to/for you [the] priest to despise name my and to say in/on/with what? to despise [obj] name your

A son honoreth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is my honor? and if I be a master, where is my fear? saith the Lord of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name; and ye say, wherein have we despised thy name?

7 to approach: bring upon altar my food to defile and to say in/on/with what? to defile you in/on/with to say you table LORD to despise he/she/it

Ye offer upon my altar polluted bread; and ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee? In that ye say, The table of the Lord is contemptible.

8 and for to approach: bring [emph?] blind to/for to sacrifice nothing bad: evil and for to approach: bring lame and be weak: ill nothing bad: evil to present: bring him please to/for governor your to accept you or to lift: kindness face: kindness your to say LORD Hosts

And if ye bring near the blind to sacrifice it, is this not evil? and if ye bring near the lame and the sick, is this not evil? do but present it unto thy governor, will he be pleased with thee, or receive thee with favor? saith the Lord of hosts.

9 and now to beg please face of God and be gracious us from hand: power your to be this to lift: kindness from you face: kindness to say LORD Hosts

And now, I pray you, beseech the presence of God that he may be gracious unto us; from your hand hath this thing come: will he receive one of you with favor? saith the Lord of hosts.

10 who? also in/on/with you and to shut door and not to light altar my for nothing nothing to/for me pleasure in/on/with you to say LORD Hosts and offering not to accept from hand: power your

Oh that there were some one among you that would lock up the doors [of the sanctuary], that ye might not light up my altar for nought: I have no pleasure in you, saith the Lord of hosts, neither will I accept in favor an offering from your hand.

11 for from east sun and till entrance his great: large name my in/on/with nation and in/on/with all place incense to approach: bring to/for name my and offering pure for great: large name my in/on/with nation to say LORD Hosts

For from the rising of the sun even unto his going down my name is great among the nations; and in every place incense is burnt and there is offered unto my name, even a pure offering; for great is my name among the nations, saith the Lord of hosts.

12 and you(m. p.) to profane/begin: profane [obj] him in/on/with to say you table Lord to defile he/she/it and fruit his to despise food his

But ye profane it, in that ye say, The table of the Lord is polluted, and by the assertion, Its food is contemptible.

13 and to say behold what? hardship and to breathe [obj] him to say LORD Hosts and to come (in): bring to plunder and [obj] [the] lame and [obj] [the] be weak: ill and to come (in): bring [obj] [the] offering to accept [obj] her from hand: power your to say LORD

And ye have said, Behold, what a wearisome task is it! and ye have left it to famish, saith the Lord of hosts; and ye have brought what was robbed, and the lame, and the sick, and thus ye have brought an offering: should I accept this in favor from your hand? saith the Lord.

14 and to curse to plot and there in/on/with flock his male and to vow and to sacrifice to ruin to/for Lord for king great: large I to say LORD Hosts and name my to fear: revere in/on/with nation

But cursed be the deceiver, who hath in his flock a male, and voweth, and sacrificeth a corrupt thing unto the Lord; for I am a great king, saith the Lord of hosts, and my name is feared among the nations.
