Luke 19

Il courut donc en avant et monta sur un sycomore pour voir Jésus, parce qu'il devait passer par là.

Jésus, arrivé à cet endroit, leva les yeux et lui dit: Zachée, hâte-toi de descendre; car il faut que je demeure aujourd'hui dans ta maison.

Zachée se hâta de descendre et reçut Jésus avec joie.

Voyant cela, tous murmuraient et disaient: Il est entré chez un pécheur pour y loger!

Comme on écoutait ces paroles, Jésus ajouta une parabole, parce qu'il était près de Jérusalem, et qu'on croyait que le royaume de Dieu allait apparaître soudain.

Il dit donc: Un homme de haute naissance s'en alla dans un pays éloigné, pour être investi de l'autorité royale et revenir ensuite.

Il appela dix de ses serviteurs, leur donna dix mines, et il leur dit: Faites-les valoir jusqu'à ce que je revienne.

Et il lui dit: Cela va bien, bon serviteur; puisque tu as été fidèle en très peu de chose, tu auras le gouvernement de dix villes.

Il lui dit aussi: Et toi, commande à cinq villes.

Ceux qui étaient envoyés partirent, et ils trouvèrent les choses comme Jésus le leur avait dit.

Pendant qu'ils détachaient l'ânon, ceux à qui il appartenait leur dirent: Pourquoi détachez-vous cet ânon?

Ils répondirent: Le Seigneur en a besoin.

Et ils l'amenèrent à Jésus. Puis, ayant mis leurs vêtements sur l'ânon, ils y firent monter Jésus.

Comme il s'avançait, les gens étendaient leurs vêtements sur le chemin.

Et lorsqu'il approcha de la descente de la montagne des Oliviers, toute la multitude des disciples, transportée de joie, se mit à louer Dieu, à haute voix, de tous les miracles qu'ils avaient vus.

Alors quelques-uns des pharisiens, qui étaient dans la foule, lui dirent: Maître, reprends tes disciples!

Si tu avais reconnu, toi aussi, au moins en ce jour, ce qui pouvait te donner la paix! Mais maintenant ces choses sont cachées à tes yeux.
