Joshua 9
1 and to be like/as to hear: hear all [the] king which in/on/with side: beyond [the] Jordan in/on/with mountain: mount and in/on/with Shephelah and in/on/with all coast [the] sea [the] Great (Sea) to(wards) opposite [the] Lebanon [the] Hittite and [the] Amorite [the] Canaanite [the] Perizzite [the] Hivite and [the] Jebusite
Todos los reyes al oeste del Jordán se enteraron de lo sucedido. Entre ellos estaban los reyes de los hititas, amorreos, cananeos, ferezeos, heveos y jebuseos que vivían en la región de las colinas, en las tierras bajas y a lo largo de la costa hasta el Líbano.
2 and to gather together to/for to fight with Joshua and with Israel lip one
Así que se reunieron para luchar juntos como un ejército unido contra Josué y los israelitas.
3 and to dwell Gibeon to hear: hear [obj] which to make: do Joshua to/for Jericho and to/for Ai
Pero cuando el pueblo de Gabaón se enteró de lo que Josué le había hecho a Jericó y a Hai,

decidieron un plan astuto. Enviaron mensajeros a Josué, con sus burros que llevaban monturas desgastadas y cargaban odres viejos que estaban rotos y remendados.
5 and sandal old and to spot in/on/with foot their and garment old upon them and all food: bread food their to wither to be crumb
Se pusieron sandalias gastadas que habían sido remendadas y llevaban ropas viejas. Todo su pan estaba seco y enmohecido.
6 and to go: went to(wards) Joshua to(wards) [the] camp [the] Gilgal and to say to(wards) him and to(wards) man Israel from land: country/planet distant to come (in): come and now to cut: make(covenant) to/for us covenant
Se dirigieron a Josué en el campamento de Gilgal y le dijeron a él y a los hombres de Israel: “Hemos venido de una tierra lejana, así que por favor hagan un tratado con nosotros”.
7 (and to say *Q(K)*) man Israel to(wards) [the] Hivite perhaps in/on/with entrails: among my you(m. s.) to dwell and how? (to cut: make(covenant) *Q(k)*) to/for you covenant
Pero los israelitas dijeron a los heveos: “Tal vez ustedes vivan cerca. Si es así, no podemos hacer un tratado con ustedes”.

“Somos sus siervos”, respondieron. “Pero ¿quiénes son ustedes? ¿De dónde vienen?” preguntó Josué.

“Nosotros tus siervos hemos venido de una tierra lejana”, respondieron. “Porque hemos oído hablar de la reputación del Señor, su Dios, y de todo lo que hizo en Egipto,
10 and [obj] all which to make: do to/for two king [the] Amorite which in/on/with side: beyond [the] Jordan to/for Sihon king Heshbon and to/for Og king [the] Bashan which in/on/with Ashtaroth
y de lo que hizo a los dos reyes amorreos al este del Jordán: a Sejón, rey de Hesbón, y a Og, rey de Basán, que gobernaba en Astarot.
11 and to say to(wards) us old: elder our and all to dwell land: country/planet our to/for to say to take: take in/on/with hand your provision to/for way: journey and to go: went to/for to encounter: meet them and to say to(wards) them servant/slave your we and now to cut: make(covenant) to/for us covenant
Así que nuestros jefes nos djieron a nosotros y a todos los habitantes de nuestra tierra: Llévense lo que necesiten para el viaje. Únanse a ellos y díganles: ‘Somos tus siervos. Por favor, hagan un tratado con nosotros’.
12 this food: bread our hot to provision [obj] him from house: home our in/on/with day to come out: come we to/for to go: come to(wards) you and now behold to wither and to be crumb
‘Miren este pan. Estaba caliente cuando lo sacamos de nuestras casas el día que salimos para venir aquí. Pero ahora está seco y mohoso, como pueden ver.
13 and these wineskin [the] wine which to fill new and behold to break up/open and these garment our and sandal our to become old from abundance [the] way: journey much
Estos odres eran nuevos cuando los llenamos, pero mírenlos ahora: están rotos y dañados. Estas ropas nuestras y nuestras sandalias están desgastadas porque el viaje ha sido muy largo’”.
14 and to take: take [the] human from food their and [obj] lip: word LORD not to ask
Los israelitas probaron algunos de los alimentos. Sin embargo, no consultaron al Señor.
15 and to make to/for them Joshua peace and to cut: make(covenant) to/for them covenant to/for to live them and to swear to/for them leader [the] congregation
Entonces Josué hizo un tratado con ellos, prometiendo perdonarles la vida, y los líderes de la asamblea hicieron un juramento para garantizarlo.
16 and to be from end three day after which to cut: make(covenant) to/for them covenant and to hear: hear for near they(masc.) to(wards) him and in/on/with entrails: among his they(masc.) to dwell
Tres días después de haber hecho el tratado, los israelitas se enteraron de que los gabaonitas vivían cerca, ¡justo en medio de ellos!
17 and to set out son: descendant/people Israel and to come (in): come to(wards) city their in/on/with day [the] third and city their Gibeon and [the] Chephirah and Beeroth and Kiriath-jearim Kiriath-jearim
Entonces los israelitas partieron para ir a las ciudades gabaonitas, y llegaron allí al tercer día. Las ciudades eran Gabaón, Cafira, Berot y Quiriat Yearín.
18 and not to smite them son: descendant/people Israel for to swear to/for them leader [the] congregation in/on/with LORD God Israel and to grumble all [the] congregation upon [the] leader
Pero los israelitas no los atacaron debido al tratado que habían jurado los líderes de la asamblea en nombre del Señor, el Dios de Israel. Ante esto, todos los israelitas protestaron contra los líderes.
19 and to say all [the] leader to(wards) all [the] congregation we to swear to/for them in/on/with LORD God Israel and now not be able to/for to touch in/on/with them
Pero los líderes respondieron al pueblo: “Les hemos jurado por el Señor, el Dios de Israel, así que ahora no podemos ponerles la mano encima.
20 this to make: do to/for them and to live [obj] them and not to be upon us wrath upon [the] oath which to swear to/for them
Así que esto es lo que vamos a hacer con ellos. Los dejaremos vivir, para que no seamos castigados por romper el juramento que les hicimos”.
21 and to say to(wards) them [the] leader to live and to be to chop tree: wood and to draw water to/for all [the] congregation like/as as which to speak: speak to/for them [the] leader
Los líderes concluyeron: “Déjenlos vivir”. Así que los gabaonitas se convirtieron en leñadores y aguadores al servicio de toda la asamblea, como habían ordenado los líderes israelitas.
22 and to call: call to to/for them Joshua and to speak: speak to(wards) them to/for to say to/for what? to deceive [obj] us to/for to say distant we from you much and you(m. p.) in/on/with entrails: among our to dwell
Entonces Josué convocó a los gabaonitas y les preguntó: “¿Por qué nos han engañado? ¡Nos dijeron que vivíamos lejos de ustedes, pero resulta que ustedes viven al lado de nosotros!
23 and now to curse you(m. p.) and not to cut: cut from you servant/slave and to chop tree: wood and to draw water to/for house: temple God my
Ahora, como consecuencia, ustedes estarán bajo una maldición. Desde ahora serán para siempre siervos, leñadores y aguadores de la casa de mi Dios”.
24 and to answer [obj] Joshua and to say for to tell to tell to/for servant/slave your [obj] which to command LORD God your [obj] Moses servant/slave his to/for to give: give to/for you [obj] all [the] land: country/planet and to/for to destroy [obj] all to dwell [the] land: country/planet from face: before your and to fear much to/for soul: life our from face: because your and to make: do [obj] [the] word: thing [the] this
Entonces ellos le respondieron a Josué: “A nosotros, tus siervos, se nos dijo muy claramente que el Señor, tu Dios, le había ordenado a Moisés que te diera toda esta tierra, y que todos sus habitantes debían ser exterminados ante ustedes. Así que temimos mucho por nuestras vidas a causa de ustedes. Por eso hicimos lo que hicimos.
25 and now look! we in/on/with hand: power your like/as pleasant and like/as upright in/on/with eye: seeing your to/for to make: do to/for us to make: do
Ahora estamos en tus manos. Haz con nosotros lo que consideres justo y correcto”.
26 and to make: do to/for them so and to rescue [obj] them from hand: power son: descendant/people Israel and not to kill them
Josué hizo lo que había dicho. Los salvó de los israelitas, para que no los mataran.
27 and to give: make them Joshua in/on/with day: today [the] he/she/it to chop tree: wood and to draw water to/for congregation and to/for altar LORD till [the] day: today [the] this to(wards) [the] place which to choose
Aquel día Josué los nombró leñadores y aguadores al servicio de toda la asamblea y para el altar del Señor dondequieraque el Señor quisiera. Eso es lo que hacen hasta el día de hoy.
