< Job 40 >
1 and to answer LORD [obj] Job and to say
And Yahweh responded to Job, and said: —
2 to contend with Almighty faultfinder to rebuke god to answer her
Shall a reprover contend, with the Almighty? He that disputeth with GOD, let him answer it!
3 and to answer Job [obj] LORD and to say
Then Job responded to Yahweh, and said: —
4 look! to lighten what? to return: reply you hand my to set: put upon lip my
Lo! I am of no account, what shall I reply to thee? My hand, have I laid on my mouth:
5 one to speak: speak and not to answer and two and not to add: again
Once, have I spoken, but I will not proceed, yea twice, but I will not add.
6 and to answer LORD [obj] Job (from *Q(K)*) (tempest *Q(k)*) and to say
So then Yahweh responded to Job, out of a storm, and said: —
7 to gird please like/as great man loin your to ask you and to know me
Gird, I pray thee—as a strong man—thy loins, I will ask thee, and inform thou me.
8 also to break justice: judgement my be wicked me because to justify
Wilt thou even frustrate my justice? Wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest appear right?
9 and if: surely yes arm like/as God to/for you and in/on/with voice like him to thunder
But if, an arm like GOD, thou hast, and, with a voice like his, thou canst thunder,
10 to adorn please pride and height and splendor and glory to clothe
Deck thyself, I pray thee, with majesty and grandeur, Yea, with dignity and splendour, thou shalt clothe thyself;
11 to scatter fury face: anger your and to see: see all proud and to abase him
Pour out thy transports of anger, and look on every one who is high, and lay him low;
12 to see: see all proud be humble him and to tread down wicked underneath: stand them
Look on every one who is high, and humble him, yea tread down the lawless, on the spot:
13 to hide them in/on/with dust unitedness face their to saddle/tie in/on/with to hide
Hide them in the dust all together, Their faces, bind thou in darkness;
14 and also I to give thanks you for to save to/for you right your
And, even I myself, will praise thee, in that thine own right hand can bring thee salvation.
15 behold please Behemoth which to make with you grass like/as cattle to eat
Behold, I pray thee, the Hippopotamus, which I made with thee, Grass—like the ox, he eateth;
16 behold please strength his in/on/with loin his and strength his in/on/with muscle belly: abdomen his
Behold, I pray thee, his strength in his loins, and his force, in the muscles of his belly;
17 to sway tail his like cedar sinew (thigh his *Q(K)*) to intertwine
He bendeth down his tail like a cedar, the sinews of his thighs, are twisted together;
18 bone his channel bronze bone his like/as rod iron
His bones, are barrels of bronze, his frame, is like hammered bars of iron:
19 he/she/it first: beginning way: conduct God [the] to make him to approach: bring sword his
He, is the beginning of the ways of GOD, Let his maker, present him his sword:
20 for produce mountain: mount to lift: aid to/for him and all living thing [the] land: wildlife to laugh there
Surely the mountains bring, produce, to him, where, all the wild beasts of the field, do play;
21 underneath: under lotus to lie down: lay down in/on/with secrecy branch: stem and swamp
Under the lotus-trees, he lieth down, in a covert of reed and swamp;
22 to cover him lotus shadow his to turn: surround him willow torrent: river
The lotus-trees cover him with their shade, the willows of the torrent-bed compass him about;
23 look! to oppress river not to hurry to trust for to burst/come out Jordan to(wards) lip his
Lo! the river becometh insolent—he is not alarmed! He is confident, though a Jordan burst forth to his mouth:
24 in/on/with eye his to take: take him in/on/with snare to pierce face: nose
Before his eyes, shall he be caught? With a hook, can one pierce his nose?
