| ایوب به سخنان خود ادامه داده، گفت: |
2 who? to give: if only! me like/as month front: old like/as day god to keep: guard me
| ای کاش روزهای گذشته بازمی‌گشت، روزهایی که خدا، نگهدار من بود |
3 in/on/with to shine he lamp his upon head my to/for light his to go: walk darkness
| و راهی را که در پیش داشتم روشن می‌ساخت و من با نور او در دل تاریکی قدم برمی‌داشتم! |
4 like/as as which to be in/on/with day autumn my in/on/with counsel god upon tent my
| بله، در آن روزها کامران بودم و زیر سایهٔ خدا زندگی می‌کردم. |
5 in/on/with still Almighty with me me around me youth my
| خدای قادر مطلق همراه من بود و فرزندانم در اطراف من بودند. |
6 in/on/with to wash: wash step my in/on/with heat and rock to pour with me me stream oil
| من پاهای خود را با شیر می‌شستم و از صخره‌ها برای من چشمه‌های روغن زیتون جاری می‌شد! |

| در آن روزها به دروازهٔ شهر می‌رفتم و در میان بزرگان می‌نشستم. |
8 to see: see me youth and to hide and aged to arise: rise to stand: stand
| جوانان با دیدن من با احترام کنار می‌رفتند، پیران از جا برمی‌خاستند، |
9 ruler to restrain in/on/with speech and palm to set: put to/for lip their
| ریش‌سفیدان قوم خاموش شده، دست بر دهان خود می‌گذاشتند |
10 voice leader to hide and tongue their to/for palate their to cleave
| و بزرگان سکوت اختیار می‌کردند. |
11 for ear to hear: hear and to bless me and eye to see: see and to testify me
| هر که مرا می‌دید و حرفهایم را می‌شنید از من تعریف و تمجید می‌کرد؛ |
12 for to escape afflicted to cry and orphan and not to help to/for him
| زیرا من به داد فقرا می‌رسیدم و یتیمانی را که یار و یاور نداشتند کمک می‌کردم. |
13 blessing to perish upon me to come (in): come and heart widow to sing
| کسانی را که دم مرگ بودند یاری می‌دادم و ایشان برایم دعای خیر می‌کردند و کاری می‌کردم که دل بیوه‌زنان شاد شود. |
14 righteousness to clothe and to clothe me like/as robe and turban justice my
| هر کاری که انجام می‌دادم از روی عدل و انصاف بود؛ عدالت جامه من بود و انصاف تاج من. |
15 eye to be to/for blind and foot to/for lame I
| برای کورها چشم و برای لنگان پا بودم؛ |
16 father I to/for needy and strife not to know to search him
| برای فقرا پدر بودم و از حق غریبه‌ها دفاع می‌کردم. |
17 and to break [emph?] jaw unjust and from tooth his to throw prey
| دندانهای ستمگران را می‌شکستم و شکار را از دهانشان می‌گرفتم. |
18 and to say with nest my to die and like/as sand to multiply day
| در آن روزها فکر می‌کردم که حتماً پس از یک زندگی خوش طولانی به آرامی در جمع خانوادۀ خود خواهم مرد. |
19 root my to open to(wards) water and dew to lodge in/on/with foliage my
| زیرا مانند درختی بودم که ریشه‌هایش به آب می‌رسید و شاخه‌هایش از شبنم سیراب می‌شد. |
20 glory my new with me me and bow my in/on/with hand my to pass
| پیوسته افتخارات تازه‌ای نصیبم می‌شد و به قدرتم افزوده می‌گشت. |
21 to/for me to hear: hear and to wait: wait and to silence: silent upon counsel my
| همه با سکوت به حرفهایم گوش می‌دادند و برای نصیحت‌های من ارزش قائل بودند. |
22 after word: speaking my not to repeat and upon them to drip/prophesy speech my
| پس از اینکه سخنانم تمام می‌شد آنها دیگر حرفی نمی‌زدند، زیرا نصایح من برای آنها قانع کننده بود. |
23 and to wait: wait like/as rain to/for me and lip their to open to/for spring rain
| آنها مانند کسی که در زمان خشکسالی انتظار باران را می‌کشد، با اشتیاق در انتظار سخنان من بودند. |
24 to laugh to(wards) them not be faithful and light face my not to fall: fall [emph?]
| وقتی که دلسرد بودند، با یک لبخند آنها را تشویق می‌کردم و بار غم را از دلهایشان برمی‌داشتم. |
25 to choose way: conduct their and to dwell head: leader and to dwell like/as king in/on/with band like/as as which mourning to be sorry: comfort
| مانند کسی بودم که عزاداران را تسلی می‌دهد. در میان ایشان مثل یک پادشاه حکومت می‌کردم و مانند یک رهبر آنها را راهنمایی می‌نمودم. |
