1 [the] word which to speak: speak LORD to(wards) Babylon to(wards) land: country/planet Chaldea in/on/with hand: by Jeremiah [the] prophet
यर्मिया अगमवक्ताको हातद्वारा कल्दीहरूको देश बेबिलोनको विषयमा परमप्रभुले घोषणा गर्नुभएको वचन यही हो,

“जातिहरूलाई खबर गर र तिनीहरूलाई सुन्न लगा । सङ्केत उठा र तिनीहरूलाई सुन्न लगा । यसलाई नलुका । यसो भन्, 'बेबिलोनलाई लिइएको छ । बेललाई लाजमा पारिएको छ । मरोदक हताश भएको छ । यसका मूर्तिहरू लाजमा पारिएका छन् । यसका प्रतिमाहरू हताश पारिएका छन् ।'

यसको विरुद्धमा उत्तरबाट एउटा जातिको उदय हुनेछ, र यसको देशलाई उजाड पार्नेछ । यसमा कोही बस्ने छैन । मानिस र पशु दुवै भाग्नेछन् ।

यो परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो, ती दिनमा र त्यो समयमा इस्राएल र यहूदाका मानिसहरू रुँदैरुँदै जान र परमप्रभु आफ्ना परमेश्वरको खोजी गर्न सँगसँगै आउनेछन् ।

तिनीहरूले सियोनतिर जाने बाटो सोध्नेछन्, र यसो भन्दै त्यतैतिर फर्कनेछन्, हामि जानेछौं र परमप्रभुसित कहिलै नबिर्सिने अनन्त करारमा सहभगी हुनेछौं ।”

मेरा मानिसहरू एउटा हराएको बगाल भएको छ । तिनीहरूका गोठालाहरूले तिनीहरूलाई पहाडहरूमा बरालिदिएका छन् । तिनीहरूले उनीहरूलाई एउटा पहाडदेखि अर्को पडाहमा फर्काएका छन् । तिनीहरू गए, अनि आफू बसेको ठाउँ तिनीहरूले बिर्से ।

तिनीहरूकहाँ जाने हरेकले तिनीहरूलाई निले । तिनीहरूका वैरीहरूले भने, 'हामी दोषी छैनौं, किनकि तिनीहरूले परमप्रभु, आफ्ना साँचो घर, आफ्ना पुर्खाहरूको आशाको विरुद्धमा पाप गरे ।'

बेबिलोनको बिचबाट निस्केर आओ । कल्दीहरूको देशबाट बाहिर जाओ । बोकाहरूजस्ता होओ जुन अरू बगालभन्दा अगिअगि जान्छन् ।

किनकि हेर, मैले काम गर्न र बेबिलोनको विरुद्धमा उत्तरबाट म महान् जातिहरूको समूहलाई खडा गर्न लागेको छु । तिनीहरू आफै त्यसको विरुद्धमा व्यवस्थित हुनेछन् । त्यहाँबाट बेबिलोन कब्जा गरिनेछ । तिनीहरूका काँडहरू निपुण योद्धाजस्ता छन् जो रित्तो हात फर्कँदैनन् ।

कल्दी लुटको माल बन्नेछ । यसलाई लुट्नेहरू सबै सन्तुष्ट हुनेछन्, यो परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो ।

तँ रमाउँछस् । मेरो उत्तराधिकारको लुटको मालमा तैंले उत्सव मनाउँछस् । खर्कमा नाच्ने बाछोझैं तँ वरिपरि उफ्रन्छस् । शक्तिशाली घोडाझैं तँ हिनहिनाउँछस् ।

त्यसैले तेरी आमा अत्यन्तै लज्जित हुनेछे । तँलाई जन्म दिने शर्ममा पर्नेछे । हेर, त्यो जातिहरूका बिचमा नीच हुनेछे । त्यो उजाड, सक्खा भूमि र मरुभूमि हुनेछे ।

परमप्रभुको क्रोधको कारणले बेबिलोनमा आबादी हुनेछैन, तर यो पूर्ण रूपमा सर्वनाश हुनेछ । बेबिलोनको कारणले यसबाट भएर जाने हरेक व्यक्ति तर्सनेछ, र यसका सबै चोटको कारण तिनीहरू गिल्ला गर्नेछन् ।

बेबिलोनको चारैतिर भएकाहरू हो, यसको विरुद्धमा आफैलाई व्यवस्थित गर । धनु तन्काउने हरेकले यसलाई प्रहार गर्नुपर्छ । आफ्नो कुनै पनि काँड बाँकी नराख, किनकि त्यसले परमप्रभुको विरुद्धमा पाप गरेको छ ।

चारैतिर त्यसको विरुद्धमा सोर उच्च पार । त्यसले आत्मसमर्पण गरेको छ । त्यसका धरहराहरू ढलेका छन् । त्यसका पर्खालहरू भत्काइएका छन्, किनकि यो परमप्रभुको बदला हो । त्यसमाथि बदला लेओ । त्यसले जस्तो गरेको छ तेस्तै त्यसलाई गर ।

बेबिलोनमा बीउ छर्ने किसान र कटनीको समयमा हँसिया प्रयोग गर्ने दुवैलाई नाश पार । अत्याचारीको तरवारबाट हरेक व्यक्ति आफ्नै मानिसहरूकहाँ फर्कोस् । तिनीहरू आफ्नै देशमा फर्कून् ।

इस्राएल सिंहहरूद्वारा तितरबितर पारिएको र लखेटिएको भेडा हो । पहिले अश्शूरका राजाले त्यसलाई खायो । त्यसपछि बेबिलोनका राजाले त्यसका हड्डीहरू भाँचिदियो ।

त्यसकारण सर्वशक्तिमान् परमप्रभु इस्राएलका परमेश्वर यसो भन्नुहुन्छः हेर्, मैले बेबिलोनका राजा र त्यसको देशलाई दण्ड दिनै लागेको छु, जसरी मैले अश्शूरको देशलाई दण्ड दिएँ ।

इस्राएललाई त्यसको मातृभूमिमा म पुनर्स्थापित गर्नेछु । ऊ कर्मेल र बाशानमा चर्नेछ । त्यसपछि ऊ एफ्राइम र गिलादका पहाडी इलाकामा सन्तुष्ट हुनेछ ।

परमप्रभु भन्नुहुन्छ, ती दिनमा र त्यो समयमा इस्राएलमा अधर्मको खोजी गरिनेछ, तर केही पनि पाइनेछैन । यहूदाका पापको विषयमा म जाँचबुझ गर्नेछु, तर केही पनि पाइने छैन, किनकि मैले जोगाउने बाँकीहरूलाई म क्षमा दिनेछु ।”

“मरातैम देश र पकोदका बासिन्दाहरूको विरुद्धमा खडा होओ । यो परमप्रभु घोषणा हो, तिनीहरूलाई तरवारमा राख, र विनाशको लागि तिनीहरूलाई अलग गर— मैले तिमीहरूलाई आज्ञा गरेझैं हरेक कुरा गर ।

देशमा युद्धको ध्वनी र विशाल विनाशको सोर सुनिएको छ ।

सबै देशका घन काटेर टुक्रा-टुक्रा पारेर नाश गरिएका छन् । जातिहरूका बिचमा बेबिलोनचाहिं एउटा नष्ट गरिएको ठाउँ भएको छ ।

ए बेबिलोन, मैले तेरो लागि एउटा पासो थापेको छु, र तँ निर्वासनमा लगिइस् अनि तँलाई त्यसको बारेमा थाहा नै भएन । तँलाई भेट्टाइयो र कब्जा गरियो, किनकि तैंले परमप्रभुको विरोध गरिस् ।

परमप्रभुले आफ्नो अस्त्रभण्डार खोल्नुभएको छ, र आफ्नो रिसले काम गर्ने उहाँले हातहतियार ल्याउँदै हुनुहुन्छ । कल्दीहरूको देशमा सर्वशक्तिमान् परमप्रभु परमेश्वरको काम छ ।

त्यसका सबै साँढेहरूलाई मार । तिनीहरूलाई काटिने ठाउँमा पठाओ । तिनीहरूलाई धिक्का छ! किनकि तिनीहरूका दिन— तिनीहरूका दण्डको समय आएको छ ।

“हेर्, अहङ्कारी, म तेरो विरुद्धमा छु, यो सर्वशक्तिमान् परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो, किनकि ए अहंकारी, तँलाई दण्ड दिने तेरो दिन आइपुगेको छ, जति बेला म तँलाई दण्ड दिनेछु ।

त्यसैले अहङ्कारीहरू ठक्कर खानेछन् र ढल्नेछन् । कसैले तिनीहरूलाई उठाउनेछैन । म तिनीहरूका सहरहरूमा आगो लगाउनेछु । त्यसले उसको वरिपरि भएको हरेक कुरोलाई भस्म पार्नेछ ।

यो परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो, कल्दीहरूको विरुद्धमा र बेबिलोनका बासिन्दाहरू, त्यसका अगुवाहरू र यसका बुद्धिमानी मानिसहरूको विरुद्धमा एउटा तरवार छ ।

व्यर्थका कुराहरू गर्नेहरूको विरुद्धमा तरवार छ । तिनीहरू मूर्ख हुनेछन् । त्यसका सिपाहीहरूको विरुद्धमा तरवार छ । तिनीहरू त्रासले भरिनेछन् ।

तिनीहरूका घोडाहरू, तिनीहरूका रथहरू र बेबिलोनको बिचमा भएका सबै मानिसको विरुद्धमा तरवार छ, यसैले तिनीहरू स्त्रीहरूझैं हुनेछन् । त्यसका भण्डारहरूमा तरवार आउँदैछ, र ती लुटिनेछन् ।

त्यसका नदीहरूमा खडेरी पर्दैछ, र ती सुक्नेछन् । किनकि त्यो बेकम्मा मूर्तिहरूको देश हो, र आफ्ना डरलाग्दा मूर्तिहरूद्वारा बौलाहा बनाइएका मानिसहरूले झैं तिनीहरू व्यवहार गर्छन् ।

स्यालहरूसँगै मरुभूमिका जनावरहरू त्यहाँ बस्नेछन्, र अस्ट्रिचका बच्चाहरू त्यहाँ बस्नेछन् । किनकि त्यसमा फेरि कहिल्यै बासिन्दा बस्नेछैनन् । पुस्तादेखि पुस्तासम्म त्यहाँ कोही पनि बस्नेछैन ।

जसरी परमेश्वरले सदोम र गमोरा अनि तिनीहरूका छिमेकीहरूलाई नष्ट गर्नुभयो, त्यसरी नै त्यहाँ कोही बस्नेछैन, कुनै व्यक्ति त्यहाँ रहनेछैन, यो परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो ।”

“हेर, उत्तरबाट एउटा जाति आउँदैछ । पृथ्वीको पल्लो छेउबाट एउटा जाति र धेरै राजाहरूलाई उत्तेजित पारिंदैछ ।

तिनीहरूले धनु र भालाहरू उठाउनेछन् । तिनीहरू क्रुर छन् र दया देखाउँदैनन् । ए बेबिलोनकी छोरी हो, तिनीहरूको सोर समुद्रको गर्जनझैं छ, र युद्ध गर्न तयार मानिसहरूझैं तेरो विरुद्धमा तिनीहरू घोडामा सवार हुँदैछन् ।

बेबिलोनका राजाले तिनीहरूको बारेमा खबर सुन्यो, र त्यसका हात चिन्ताले फतक्कै गले । प्रसव-वेदनामा परेकी स्त्रीझैं वेदनाले त्यसलाई समात्यो ।

हेर्, त्यो यर्दनका जङ्गलहरूबाट सधैं हरिया रहने ठाउँमा सिंहझैं माथि उक्लनेछ । किनकि तिनीहरूलाई म तुरुन्तै त्यहाँबाट भाग्न लगाउनेछु, र यसको जिम्मामा म चुनिएको कसैलाई नियुक्त गर्नेछु । किनकि मजस्तो को छ अनि कसले मलाई बोलाउनेछ र? कुनचाहिं गोठालोले मेरो विरोध गर्न सक्छ?

त्यसैले परमप्रभुले बेबिलोनको विरुद्धमा निधो गर्नुभएका योजनाहरू, कल्दीहरूको देशको विरुद्धमा उहाँले रच्नुभएका योजनाहरू सुन । निश्चय नै स-साना बगालका पनि घिस्याएर लगिनेछन् । तिनीहरूका खर्कहरू उजाड-स्थानमा परिणत हुनेछन् ।

बेबिलोन पराजित गरिएको सोरमा पृथ्वी हल्लिन्छ, र जातिहरूका बिचमा तिनीहरूको चिन्ताको सोर सुनिन्छ ।”
