മോവാബിനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള അരുളപ്പാടു. യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: നെബോവിന്നു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം! അതു ശൂന്യമായിരിക്കുന്നു; കിര്യത്തയീമിന്നു ലജ്ജ ഭവിച്ചു; അതു പിടിക്കപ്പെട്ടുപോയി; ഉയർന്ന കോട്ട ലജ്ജിച്ചു ഭ്രമിച്ചുപോയിരിക്കുന്നു.

സിബ്മാമുന്തിരിവള്ളിയേ, യസേരിനെക്കുറിച്ചു കരയുന്നതിലും അധികം ഞാൻ നിന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു കരയും; നിന്റെ വള്ളികൾ കടലിന്നിക്കരെ കടന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അവ യസേർകടൽവരെ എത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു; ശൂന്യമാക്കുന്നവൻ നിന്റെ കനികളിന്മേലും മുന്തിരിക്കൊയ്ത്തിന്മേലും ചാടി വീണിരിക്കുന്നു.

ഇഷ്ടമില്ലാത്ത പാത്രത്തെപ്പോലെ ഞാൻ മോവാബിനെ ഉടെച്ചുകളഞ്ഞിരിക്കയാൽ മോവാബിലെ എല്ലാപുരമുകളുകളിലും അതിന്റെ തെരുക്കളിൽ എല്ലാടവും വിലാപം എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

അതു എങ്ങനെ ഉടഞ്ഞുപോയിരിക്കുന്നു! മുറയിടുവിൻ! മോവാബ് എങ്ങനെ ലജ്ജിച്ചു പുറന്തിരിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു! അങ്ങനെ മോവാബ് തന്റെ ചുറ്റുമുള്ളവർക്കൊക്കെയും പരിഹാസത്തിന്നും സ്തംഭനത്തിന്നും വിഷയമായ്തീരും.

കെരീയോത്ത് പിടിക്കപ്പെട്ടു; ദുർഗ്ഗങ്ങൾ കീഴടങ്ങിപ്പോയി; അന്നാളിൽ മോവാബിലെ വീരന്മാരുടെ ഹൃദയം നോവുകിട്ടിയ സ്ത്രീയുടെ ഹൃദയംപോലെയാകും.

മോവാബ് നിവാസിയേ, പേടിയും കുഴിയും കണിയും നിനക്കു വരും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

പേടി ഒഴിഞ്ഞോടുന്നവൻ കുഴിയിൽ വീഴും; കുഴിയിൽനിന്നു കയറുന്നവൻ കണിയിൽ അകപ്പെടും; ഞാൻ അതിന്നു, മോവാബിന്നു തന്നേ, അവരുടെ സന്ദർശനകാലം വരുത്തും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

ഓടിപ്പോയവർ ബലമില്ലാതെ ഹെശ്ബോന്റെ നിഴലിൽ നില്ക്കുന്നു; എന്നാൽ ഹെശ്ബോനിൽനിന്നു തീയും സീഹോന്റെ നടുവിൽനിന്നു ജ്വാലയും പുറപ്പെട്ടു മോവാബിന്റെ ചെന്നിയും തുമുലപുത്രന്മാരുടെ നെറുകയും ദഹിപ്പിച്ചുകളയും.

മോവാബേ, നിനക്കു ഹാ കഷ്ടം! കെമോശിന്റെ ജനം നശിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരെ ബദ്ധന്മാരായും നിന്റെ പുത്രിമാരെ പ്രവാസത്തിലേക്കും കൊണ്ടുപോയിരുന്നു.

എങ്കിലും ഒടുക്കം ഞാൻ മോവാബിന്റെ പ്രവാസം മാറ്റും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു. ഇത്രത്തോളമാകുന്നു മോവാബിനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള ന്യായവിധി.
