< Jeremiah 21 >

1 [the] word which to be to(wards) Jeremiah from with LORD in/on/with to send: depart to(wards) him [the] king Zedekiah [obj] Pashhur son: child Malchiah and [obj] Zephaniah son: child Maaseiah [the] priest to/for to say
The word that has been to Jeremiah from YHWH, in King Zedekiah’s sending to him Pashhur son of Malchiah and Zephaniah son of Maaseiah the priest, saying,
2 to seek please about/through/for us [obj] LORD for Nebuchadnezzar king Babylon to fight upon us perhaps to make: do LORD with us like/as all to wonder his and to ascend: rise from upon us
“Please inquire of YHWH for us, for Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has fought against us; perhaps YHWH deals with us according to all His wonders, and causes him to go up from off us.”
3 and to say Jeremiah to(wards) them thus to say [emph?] to(wards) Zedekiah
And Jeremiah says to them, “Thus you say to Zedekiah,
4 thus to say LORD God Israel look! I to turn: repell [obj] article/utensil [the] battle which in/on/with hand your which you(m. p.) to fight in/on/with them with king Babylon and with [the] Chaldea [the] to confine upon you from outside to/for wall and to gather [obj] them to(wards) midst [the] city [the] this
Thus said YHWH, God of Israel: Behold, I am turning around the weapons of battle That [are] in your hand, With which you fight the king of Babylon, And the Chaldeans, who are laying siege against you, At the outside of the wall, And I have gathered them into the midst of this city,
5 and to fight I with you in/on/with hand to stretch and in/on/with arm strong and in/on/with face: anger and in/on/with rage and in/on/with wrath great: large
And I have fought against you, With an outstretched hand, and with a strong arm, And in anger, and in fury, and in great wrath,
6 and to smite [obj] to dwell [the] city [the] this and [obj] [the] man and [obj] [the] animal in/on/with pestilence great: large to die
And I have struck the inhabitants of this city, Both man and beast, They die by a great pestilence.
7 and after so utterance LORD to give: give [obj] Zedekiah king Judah and [obj] servant/slave his and [obj] [the] people and [obj] [the] to remain in/on/with city [the] this from [the] pestilence from [the] sword and from [the] famine in/on/with hand: power Nebuchadnezzar king Babylon and in/on/with hand: power enemy their and in/on/with hand: power to seek soul: life their and to smite them to/for lip: edge sword not to pity upon them and not to spare and not to have compassion
And after this,” A declaration of YHWH, “I give Zedekiah king of Judah, And his servants, and the people, And those left in this city, From the pestilence, from the sword, and from the famine, Into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, And into the hand of their enemies, And into the hand of those seeking their life, And he has struck them by the mouth of the sword, He has no pity on them, Nor does he spare, nor does he have mercy.”
8 and to(wards) [the] people [the] this to say thus to say LORD look! I to give: put to/for face: before your [obj] way: conduct [the] life and [obj] way: conduct [the] death
“And you say to this people, Thus said YHWH: Behold, I am setting before you the way of life, And the way of death!
9 [the] to dwell in/on/with city [the] this to die in/on/with sword and in/on/with famine and in/on/with pestilence and [the] to come out: come and to fall: fall upon [the] Chaldea [the] to confine upon you (and to live *Q(K)*) and to be to/for him soul: life his to/for spoil
Whoever is abiding in this city—dies, By sword, and by famine, and by pestilence, And whoever is going forth, And has fallen to the Chaldeans, Who are laying siege against you—lives, And his life has been for a spoil to him.
10 for to set: make face my in/on/with city [the] this to/for distress: harm and not to/for welfare utterance LORD in/on/with hand: power king Babylon to give: give and to burn her in/on/with fire
For I have set My face against this city for calamity, And not for good,” A declaration of YHWH. “It is given into the hand of the king of Babylon, And he has burned it with fire.
11 and to/for house: palace king Judah to hear: hear word LORD
And as for the house of the king of Judah,” Hear a word of YHWH;
12 house: household David thus to say LORD to judge to/for morning justice and to rescue to plunder from hand: power to oppress lest to come out: issue like/as fire rage my and to burn: burn and nothing to quench from face: because evil (deed your *Q(K)*)
O house of David, thus said YHWH: “Decide judgment in the morning, And deliver the plundered from the hand of the oppressor, Lest My fury go forth as fire, And has burned, and none is quenching, Because of the evil of your doings.
13 look! I to(wards) you to dwell [the] valley rock [the] plain utterance LORD [the] to say who? to descend upon us and who? to come (in): come in/on/with habitation our
Behold, I [am] against you,” A declaration of YHWH, “O inhabitant of the valley, rock of the plain, Who are saying, Who comes down against us? And who comes into our habitations?
14 and to reckon: punish upon you like/as fruit deed your utterance LORD and to kindle fire in/on/with wood her and to eat all around her
And I have laid a charge against you, According to the fruit of your doings,” A declaration of YHWH, “And I have kindled a fire in its forest, And it has consumed all its outskirts!”
