Tal vennlig til Jerusalem og rop til det at dets strid er endt, at dets skyld er betalt, at det av Herrens hånd har fått dobbelt for alle sine synder.
3 voice to call: call out in/on/with wilderness to turn way: road LORD to smooth in/on/with plain highway to/for God our
Hør! Det er en som roper: Rydd i ørkenen vei for Herren! Gjør i ødemarken en jevn vei for vår Gud!
4 all valley to lift: raise and all mountain: mount and hill to abase and to be [the] steep to/for plain and [the] roughness to/for valley
Hver dal skal heves, og hvert fjell og hver haug skal senkes, det bakkete skal bli til slette, og hamrene til flatt land.
5 and to reveal: reveal glory LORD and to see: see all flesh together for lip LORD to speak: speak
Og Herrens herlighet skal åpenbares, og alt kjød skal se det, for Herrens munn har talt.
6 voice to say to call: call out and to say what? to call: call out all [the] flesh grass and all kindness his like/as flower [the] land: country
Hør! Det er en som sier: Rop! Og en annen svarer: Hvad skal jeg rope? - Alt kjød er gress, og all dets herlighet som markens blomst.
7 to wither grass to wither flower for spirit: breath LORD to blow in/on/with him surely grass [the] people
Gresset blir tørt, blomsten visner når Herrens ånde blåser på det; ja sannelig, folket er gress.

Se, Herren, Israels Gud, kommer med velde, og hans arm råder; se, hans lønn er med ham, og hans gjengjeldelse går foran ham.
11 like/as to pasture flock his to pasture in/on/with arm his to gather lamb and in/on/with bosom: embrace his to lift: bear to nurse to guide
Som en hyrde skal han vokte sin hjord; i sin arm skal han samle lammene, og ved sin barm skal han bære dem; de får som har lam, skal han lede.
12 who? to measure in/on/with handful his water and heaven in/on/with span to measure and to sustain in/on/with third dust [the] land: country/planet and to weigh in/on/with balance mountain: mount and hill in/on/with balance
Hvem har målt vannene med sin hule hånd og utmålt himmelen med sine utspente fingrer og samlet jordens muld i skjeppe og veid fjell på vekt og hauger i vektskåler?
13 who? to measure [obj] spirit LORD and man counsel his to know him
Hvem har målt Herrens Ånd, og hvem lærer ham som hans rådgiver?
14 with who? to advise and to understand him and to learn: teach him in/on/with way justice and to learn: teach him knowledge and way: conduct understanding to know him
Hvem har han rådført sig med, så han gav ham forstand og oplyste ham om den rette vei og gav ham kunnskap og lærte ham å kjenne visdoms vei?
15 look! nation like/as drop from bucket and like/as cloud balance to devise: count look! coastland like/as thin to lift
Se, folkeferd er som en dråpe av et spann, og som et støvgrand i en vektskål er de aktet; se, øene er som det fine støv han lar fare til værs.
16 and Lebanon nothing sufficiency to burn: burn and living thing his nothing sufficiency burnt offering
Libanon forslår ikke til brensel, og dets dyr forslår ikke til brennoffer.
17 all [the] nation like/as nothing before him from end and formlessness to devise: count to/for him
Alle folkene er som intet for ham; som ingenting og bare tomhet er de aktet av ham.
18 and to(wards) who? to resemble [emph?] God and what? likeness to arrange to/for him
Hvem vil I da ligne Gud med? Og hvad for et billede vil I sette ved siden av ham?
19 [the] idol to pour artificer and to refine in/on/with gold to beat him and chain silver: money to refine
Gudebilledet er støpt av en mester, og en gullsmed klær det med gull, og han støper sølvkjeder til det.
20 [the] to impoverish contribution tree: wood not to rot to choose artificer wise to seek to/for him to/for to establish: establish idol not to shake
Den som ikke har råd til en sådan gave, han velger tre som ikke råtner; han søker op en kyndig mester forat han skal få i stand et billede som står støtt.

Skjønner I ikke? Hører I ikke? Er det ikke fra begynnelsen kunngjort for eder? Har I ikke forstått jordens grunnvoller?
22 [the] to dwell upon circle [the] land: country/planet and to dwell her like/as locust [the] to stretch like/as curtain heaven and to spread them like/as tent to/for to dwell
Han er jo den som troner over den vide jord, og de som bor på den, er som gresshopper; han er den som bredte ut himmelen som et tynt teppe og utspente den som et telt til å bo i,
23 [the] to give: make to rule to/for nothing to judge land: country/planet like/as formlessness to make
den som gjør fyrster til intet, ordens dommere til ingenting;
24 also not to plant also not to sow also not to uproot in/on/with land: country/planet stock their and also to blow in/on/with them and to wither and tempest like/as stubble to lift: bear them
neppe er de plantet, neppe er de sådd, neppe har deres stamme skutt rot i jorden, før han har blåst på dem, og de blir tørre, og en storm fører dem bort som strå.
25 and to(wards) who? to resemble me and be like to say holy
Hvem vil I da ligne mig med, så jeg skulde være ham lik? sier den Hellige.
26 to lift: look height eye your and to see: see who? to create these [the] to come out: send in/on/with number army their to/for all their in/on/with name to call: call to from abundance strength and strong strength man not to lack
Løft eders øine mot det høie og se: Hvem har skapt disse ting? Han er den som fører deres hær ut i fastsatt tall, som kaller dem alle ved navn; på grunn av hans veldige kraft og hans mektige styrke savnes ikke én.
27 to/for what? to say Jacob and to speak: speak Israel to hide way: conduct my from LORD and from God my justice my to pass
Hvorfor vil du si, Jakob, og tale så, Israel: Min vei er skjult for Herren, og min rett går min Gud forbi?
28 not to know if: surely no not to hear: hear God forever: enduring LORD to create end [the] land: country/planet not to faint and not be weary/toil nothing search to/for understanding his
Vet du det ikke, eller har du ikke hørt det? Herren er en evig Gud, den som har skapt jordens ender; han blir ikke trett, og han blir ikke mødig; hans forstand er uransakelig.
29 to give: give to/for weary strength and to/for nothing strength strength to multiply
Han gir den trette kraft, og den som ingen krefter har, gir han stor styrke.
30 and to faint youth and be weary/toil and youth to stumble to stumble
Gutter blir trette og mødige, og unge menn snubler.
31 and to await LORD to pass strength to ascend: rise wing like/as eagle to run: run and not be weary/toil to go: walk and not to faint
Men de som venter på Herren, får ny kraft, løfter vingene som ørner; de løper og blir ikke trette, de går og blir ikke mødige.
