Potěšujte, potěšujte lidu mého, dí Bůh váš.

Mluvte k srdci Jeruzaléma, a ohlašujte jemu, že se již doplnil čas uložený jeho, že jest odpuštěna nepravost jeho, a že vzal z ruky Hospodinovy dvojnásobně za všecky hříchy své.
3 voice to call: call out in/on/with wilderness to turn way: road LORD to smooth in/on/with plain highway to/for God our
Hlas volajícího: Připravtež na poušti cestu Hospodinovu, přímou učiňte na pustině stezku Boha našeho.
4 all valley to lift: raise and all mountain: mount and hill to abase and to be [the] steep to/for plain and [the] roughness to/for valley
Každé údolí ať jest vyvýšeno, a všeliká hora i pahrbek ať jest snížen; což jest křivého, ať jest přímé, a místa nerovná ať jsou rovinou.
5 and to reveal: reveal glory LORD and to see: see all flesh together for lip LORD to speak: speak
Nebo se zjeví sláva Hospodinova, a uzří všeliké tělo spolu, že ústa Hospodinova mluvila.
6 voice to say to call: call out and to say what? to call: call out all [the] flesh grass and all kindness his like/as flower [the] land: country
Hlas řkoucího: Volej. I řekl: Co mám volati? To, že všeliké tělo jest tráva, a všeliká vzácnost jeho jako květ polní.
7 to wither grass to wither flower for spirit: breath LORD to blow in/on/with him surely grass [the] people
Usychá tráva, květ prší, jakž vítr Hospodinův povane na něj. V pravděť jsou lidé ta tráva.
8 to wither grass to wither flower and word God our to arise: establish to/for forever: enduring
Usychá tráva, květ prší, ale slovo Boha našeho zůstává na věky.

Na horu vysokou vystup sobě, Sione, zvěstovateli věcí potěšených, povyš mocně hlasu svého, Jeruzaléme, zvěstovateli věcí potěšených, povyš, aniž se boj. Rci městům Judským: Aj, Bůh váš.

Aj, Panovník Hospodin proti silnému přijde, a rámě jeho panovati bude nad ním; aj, mzda jeho s ním, a dílo jeho před ním.
11 like/as to pasture flock his to pasture in/on/with arm his to gather lamb and in/on/with bosom: embrace his to lift: bear to nurse to guide
Jako pastýř stádo své pásti bude, do náručí svého shromáždí jehňátka, a v klíně svém je ponese, březí pak poznenáhlu povede.
12 who? to measure in/on/with handful his water and heaven in/on/with span to measure and to sustain in/on/with third dust [the] land: country/planet and to weigh in/on/with balance mountain: mount and hill in/on/with balance
Kdo změřil hrstí svou vody, a nebesa pídí rozměřil? A kdo změřil měrou prach země, a zvážil na váze hory, a pahrbky na závaží?
13 who? to measure [obj] spirit LORD and man counsel his to know him
Kdo vystihl ducha Hospodinova, a rádcím jeho byl, že by mu oznámil?
14 with who? to advise and to understand him and to learn: teach him in/on/with way justice and to learn: teach him knowledge and way: conduct understanding to know him
S kým se radil, že by mu přidal srozumění, a naučil jej stezce soudu, a vyučil jej umění, a cestu všelijaké rozumnosti jemu v známost uvedl?
15 look! nation like/as drop from bucket and like/as cloud balance to devise: count look! coastland like/as thin to lift
Aj, národové jako krůpě od okova, a jako prášek na vážkách se počítají, ostrovy jako nejmenší věc zachvacuje.
16 and Lebanon nothing sufficiency to burn: burn and living thing his nothing sufficiency burnt offering
Ani Libán nepostačil by k zanícení ohně, a živočichové jeho nepostačili by k zápalné oběti.
17 all [the] nation like/as nothing before him from end and formlessness to devise: count to/for him
Všickni národové jsou jako nic před ním, za nic a za marnost pokládají se u něho.
18 and to(wards) who? to resemble [emph?] God and what? likeness to arrange to/for him
K komu tedy připodobníte Boha silného? A jaké podobenství přirovnáte jemu?
19 [the] idol to pour artificer and to refine in/on/with gold to beat him and chain silver: money to refine
Jakžkoli rytinu líčí řemeslník, a zlatník zlatem ji potahuje, a řetízky stříbrné k ní slévá;
20 [the] to impoverish contribution tree: wood not to rot to choose artificer wise to seek to/for him to/for to establish: establish idol not to shake
A ten, kterýž pro chudobu nemá co obětovati, dřevo, kteréž by nepráchnivělo, vybírá, a řemeslníka umělého sobě hledá k přistrojení rytiny, aby se nepohnula.

Zdaliž nevíte? Zdaliž neslýcháte? Zdaliž se vám nezvěstuje od počátku? Zdaliž nesrozumíváte z základů země?

Ten, kterýž sedí nad okršlkem země, jejížto obyvatelé jako kobylky, kterýž rozprostřel jako kortýnu nebesa, a roztáhl je jako stánek k přebývání,
23 [the] to give: make to rule to/for nothing to judge land: country/planet like/as formlessness to make
Onť přivodí knížata na nic, soudce zemské jako nic rozptyluje,
24 also not to plant also not to sow also not to uproot in/on/with land: country/planet stock their and also to blow in/on/with them and to wither and tempest like/as stubble to lift: bear them
Tak že nebývají štípeni ani sáti, aniž kořene pouští do země pařez jejich. Nebo jakž jen zavane na ně, hned usychají, a vicher jako plevu zanáší je.

K komu tedy připodobníte mne, abych podobný byl jemu, praví Svatý?
26 to lift: look height eye your and to see: see who? to create these [the] to come out: send in/on/with number army their to/for all their in/on/with name to call: call to from abundance strength and strong strength man not to lack
Pozdvihněte zhůru očí svých, a vizte, kdo to stvořil? Kdo vyvodí v počtu vojsko jejich, a všeho toho zejména povolává? Vedlé množství síly a veliké moci ani jedno z nich nehyne.

Pročež tedy říkáš, Jákobe, a mluvíš, Izraeli: Skrytať jest cesta má před Hospodinem, a pře má před Boha mého nepřichází?
28 not to know if: surely no not to hear: hear God forever: enduring LORD to create end [the] land: country/planet not to faint and not be weary/toil nothing search to/for understanding his
Zdaliž nevíš, zdaž jsi neslýchal, že Bůh věčný Hospodin, kterýž stvořil končiny země, neustává ani zemdlívá, a že vystižena býti nemůže moudrost jeho?
29 to give: give to/for weary strength and to/for nothing strength strength to multiply
On dává ustalému sílu, a tomu, ješto žádné síly nemá, moci hojně udílí.
30 and to faint youth and be weary/toil and youth to stumble to stumble
Ustává a umdlévá mládež, a mládenci těžce klesají,
31 and to await LORD to pass strength to ascend: rise wing like/as eagle to run: run and not be weary/toil to go: walk and not to faint
Ale ti, jenž očekávají na Hospodina, nabývají nové síly. Vznášejí se peřím jako orlice; běží, a však neumdlévají, chodí, a neustávají.
