൧ദമ്മേശെക്കിനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള പ്രവാചകം: “ഇതാ, ദമ്മേശെക്ക് ഒരു പട്ടണമായിരിക്കാത്തവിധം നീങ്ങിപ്പോയിരിക്കുന്നു; അത് ശൂന്യകൂമ്പാരമായിത്തീരും.

൨അരോവേർപട്ടണങ്ങൾ നിർജ്ജനമായിരിക്കുന്നു; അവ ആട്ടിൻകൂട്ടങ്ങൾക്കായിരിക്കും; ആരും പേടിപ്പിക്കാതെ അവ അവിടെ മേഞ്ഞുകിടക്കും.

൩എഫ്രയീമിൽ കോട്ടയും ദമ്മേശെക്കിൽ രാജത്വവും ഇല്ലാതെയാകും; അരാമിൽ ശേഷിച്ചവർ യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കളുടെ മഹത്ത്വംപോലെയാകും” എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

൫അത് കൊയ്ത്തുകാരൻ വിളചേർത്തു പിടിച്ചു കൈകൊണ്ട് കതിരുകൾ കൊയ്യുംപോലെയും ഒരുത്തൻ രെഫയീം താഴ്വരയിൽ കതിരുകളെ പെറുക്കുംപോലെയും ആയിരിക്കും.

൬ഒലിവ് തല്ലുമ്പോൾ വൃക്ഷാഗ്രത്തിൽ രണ്ടു മൂന്നു കായോ ഫലവൃക്ഷത്തിന്റെ ശിഖരങ്ങളിൽ നാലഞ്ചു കായോ ഇങ്ങനെ കാലാ പറിക്കുവാൻ ചിലതു ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കും” എന്നു യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

൧൦നിന്റെ രക്ഷയുടെ ദൈവത്തെ നീ മറന്നു നിന്റെ ബലമുള്ള പാറയെ ഓർക്കാതെയിരിക്കുകകൊണ്ടു നീ മനോഹരമായ തോട്ടങ്ങളെ ഉണ്ടാക്കി അവയിൽ അന്യദേശത്തുനിന്നുള്ള വള്ളികൾ നടുന്നു.

൧൧നടുന്ന ദിവസത്തിൽ നീ അതിന് വേലി കെട്ടുകയും രാവിലെ നിന്റെ നടുതല പൂക്കുമാറാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു; എങ്കിലും കഠിനമായ മുറിവും തീരാത്ത വ്യസനവും തട്ടുന്ന ദിവസത്തിൽ കൊയ്ത്ത് പൊയ്പോകും.

൧൨അയ്യോ, അനേകജനതകളുടെ മുഴക്കം; അവർ കടലിന്റെ മുഴക്കംപോലെ മുഴങ്ങുന്നു! അയ്യോ, വംശങ്ങളുടെ ഇരച്ചിൽ! അവർ പെരുവെള്ളങ്ങളുടെ ഇരച്ചിൽപോലെ ഇരയ്ക്കുന്നു.

൧൩വംശങ്ങൾ പെരുവെള്ളങ്ങളുടെ ഇരച്ചിൽപോലെ ഇരയ്ക്കുന്നു; എങ്കിലും അവിടുന്ന് അവരെ ശാസിക്കും; അപ്പോൾ അവർ ദൂരത്തേക്ക് ഓടിപ്പോകും; കാറ്റിനു മുമ്പിൽ പർവ്വതങ്ങളിലെ പതിർപോലെയും കൊടുങ്കാറ്റിനു മുമ്പിൽ ചുഴന്നുപറക്കുന്ന പൊടിപോലെയും പാറിപ്പോകും.
