Hebrews 3

1 whence brother holy calling heavenly partaker to observe the/this/who apostle and high-priest the/this/who confession me (Christ *K*) Jesus

Derfor, hellige brødre, I som har fått del i et himmelsk kall, gi akt på den apostel og yppersteprest som vi bekjenner, Jesus,

2 faithful to be the/this/who to do/make: appoint it/s/he as/when and Moses in/on/among all the/this/who house: household it/s/he

han som var tro mot den som gjorde ham dertil, likesom og Moses var i hele hans hus.

3 greater for this/he/she/it glory from/with/beside Moses to deem worthy according to just as/how much greater honor to have/be the/this/who house: home the/this/who to prepare it/s/he

For denne er aktet så meget større ære verd enn Moses, som den som har gjort huset, har større ære enn huset selv.

Hvert hus blir jo gjort av nogen; men den som har gjort alt, er Gud;

og Moses var vel tro i hele hans hus som tjener til å vidne om det som skulde tales,

men Kristus som Sønn over hans hus, og hans hus er vi, såfremt vi holder vår frimodighet og det håp som vi roser oss av, fast inntil enden.

Derfor, som den Hellige Ånd sier: Idag, om I hører hans røst,

da forherd ikke eders hjerter som ved forbitrelsen, på fristelsesdagen i ørkenen,

hvor eders fedre fristet mig ved å sette mig på prøve, enda de så mine gjerninger i firti år;

derfor harmedes jeg på denne slekt og sa: De farer alltid vill i hjertet; men de kjente ikke mine veier,

så jeg svor i min vrede: Sannelig, de skal ikke komme inn til min hvile!

Se til, brødre, at det ikke i nogen av eder er et ondt, vantro hjerte, så han faller fra den levende Gud;

men forman hverandre hver dag, så lenge det heter idag, forat ikke nogen av eder skal forherdes ved syndens svik;

for vi har fått del med Kristus, såfremt vi holder vår første fulle visshet fast inntil enden.

Når det sies: Idag, om I hører hans røst, da forherd ikke eders hjerter som ved forbitrelsen,

hvem var det da vel som hørte den og dog forbitret ham? var det ikke alle de som gikk ut av Egypten ved Moses?

Og hvem var det han harmedes på i firti år? var det ikke på dem som hadde syndet, så deres kropper falt i ørkenen?

18 which? then to swear not to enter toward the/this/who rest it/s/he if: not not the/this/who to disobey

Og om hvem var det han svor at de ikke skulde komme inn til hans hvile, uten om dem som ikke hadde villet tro?

19 and to see that/since: that no be able to enter through/because of unbelief

Så ser vi da at det var for vantros skyld de ikke kunde komme inn.
