< Genesis 40 >
1 and to be after [the] word: thing [the] these to sin cupbearer king Egypt and [the] to bake to/for lord their to/for king Egypt
Whanne these thingis weren doon so, it bifelde that twei geldyngis, the boteler and the baker `of the kyng of Egipt, synneden to her lord.
2 and be angry Pharaoh upon two eunuch his upon ruler [the] cupbearer and upon ruler [the] to bake
And Farao was wrooth ayens hem, for the toon was `souereyn to boteleris, the tother was `souereyn to bakeris.
3 and to give: put [obj] them in/on/with custody house: home ruler [the] guard to(wards) house: home [the] prison place which Joseph to bind there
And he sente hem in to the prisoun of the prince of knyytis, in which also Joseph was boundun.
4 and to reckon: overseer ruler [the] guard [obj] Joseph with them and to minister [obj] them and to be day in/on/with custody
And the keper of the prisoun bitook hem to Joseph, which also `mynystride to hem. Sumdel of tyme passide, and thei weren hooldun in kepyng, and bothe sien a dreem in o nyyt,
5 and to dream dream two their man: anyone dream his in/on/with night one man: anyone like/as interpretation dream his [the] cupbearer and [the] to bake which to/for king Egypt which to bind in/on/with house: home [the] prison
bi couenable expownyng to hem.
6 and to come (in): come to(wards) them Joseph in/on/with morning and to see: see [obj] them and look! they to enrage
And whanne Joseph hadde entrid to hem eerli, and hadde seyn hem sori,
7 and to ask [obj] eunuch Pharaoh which with him in/on/with custody house: home lord his to/for to say why? face your bad: harmful [the] day
he axide hem, and seide, Whi is youre `face soriere to dai than it ys wont?
8 and to say to(wards) him dream to dream and to interpret nothing [obj] him and to say to(wards) them Joseph not to/for God interpretation to recount please to/for me
Whiche answeriden, We seiyen a dreem, and `noon is that expowneth to vs. And Joseph seide to hem, Whether expownyng is not of God? Telle ye to me what ye han seyn.
9 and to recount ruler [the] cupbearer [obj] dream his to/for Joseph and to say to/for him in/on/with dream my and behold vine to/for face: before my
The `souereyn of boteleris telde first his dreem; Y seiy that a vyne bifore me,
10 and in/on/with vine three tendril and he/she/it like/as to sprout to ascend: rise flower her to boil cluster her grape
in which weren thre siouns, wexide litil and litil in to buriounnyngis, and that aftir flouris grapys wexiden ripe,
11 and cup Pharaoh in/on/with hand my and to take: take [obj] [the] grape and to squeeze [obj] them to(wards) cup Pharaoh and to give: put [obj] [the] cup upon palm Pharaoh
and the cuppe of Farao was in myn hond; therfor Y took the grapis, and presside out in to the cuppe which Y helde, and Y yaf drynk to Farao.
12 and to say to/for him Joseph this interpretation his three [the] tendril three day they(masc.)
Joseph answerde, This is the expownyng of the dreem; thre siouns ben yit thre daies,
13 in/on/with still three day to lift: raise Pharaoh [obj] head your and to return: rescue you upon stand your and to give: put cup Pharaoh in/on/with hand: power his like/as justice: custom [the] first which to be cupbearer his
aftir whiche Farao schal haue mynde of thi seruyce, and he schal restore thee in to the firste degree, and thou schal yyue to hym the cuppe, bi thin office, as thou were wont to do bifore.
14 that if: except if: except to remember me with you like/as as which be good to/for you and to make: do please with me me kindness and to remember me to(wards) Pharaoh and to come out: send me from [the] house: home [the] this
Oneli haue thou mynde on me, whanne it is wel to thee, and thou schalt do merci with me, that thou make suggestioun to Farao, that he lede me out of this prisoun;
15 for to steal to steal from land: country/planet [the] Hebrew and also here not to make: do anything for to set: put [obj] me in/on/with pit
for theefli Y am takun awei fro the lond of Ebrews, and here Y am sent innocent in to prisoun.
16 and to see: see ruler [the] to bake for pleasant to interpret and to say to(wards) Joseph also I in/on/with dream my and behold three basket white upon head my
The `maister of bakeris seiye that Joseph hadde expowned prudentli the dreem, and he seide, And Y seiy a dreem, that Y hadde thre panyeris of mele on myn heed,
17 and in/on/with basket [the] high from all food Pharaoh deed: work to bake and [the] bird to eat [obj] them from [the] basket from upon head my
and Y gesside that Y bar in o panyere, that was heiyere, alle metis that ben maad bi craft of bakers, and that briddis eeten therof.
18 and to answer Joseph and to say this interpretation his three [the] basket three day they(masc.)
Joseph answerde, This is the expownyng of the dreem; thre panyeris ben yit thre daies,
19 in/on/with still three day to lift: raise Pharaoh [obj] head your from upon you and to hang [obj] you upon tree and to eat [the] bird [obj] flesh your from upon you
aftir whiche Farao schal take awei thin heed, and he schal hange thee in a cros, and briddis schulen todrawe thi fleischis.
20 and to be in/on/with day [the] third (day *LAH(b)*) to beget [obj] Pharaoh and to make feast to/for all servant/slave his and to lift: raise [obj] head ruler [the] cupbearer and [obj] head ruler [the] to bake in/on/with midst servant/slave his
Fro thennus the thridde dai was the dai of birthe of Farao, which made a greet feeste to hise children, and hadde mynde among metis on the maistir `of boteleris, and on the prince of bakeris;
21 and to return: rescue [obj] ruler [the] cupbearer upon cupbearer his and to give: put [the] cup upon palm Pharaoh
and he restoride the oon in to his place, that he schulde dresse cuppe to `the kyng,
22 and [obj] ruler [the] to bake to hang like/as as which to interpret to/for them Joseph
and he hangide `the tothir in a gebat, that the treuthe of `the expownere schulde be preued.
23 and not to remember ruler [the] cupbearer [obj] Joseph and to forget him
And netheles whanne prosperitees bifelden, the `souereyn of boteleris foryat `his expownere.
