Genesis 25
1 and to add Abraham and to take: marry woman: wife and name her Keturah
Áp-ra-ham tái hôn và cưới Kê-tu-ra.

Bà sinh cho người sáu đứa con: Xim-ran, Giốc-chan, Mê-đan, Ma-đi-an, Dích-bác, và Su-ách.
3 and Jokshan to beget [obj] Sheba and [obj] Dedan and son: descendant/people Dedan to be Asshurim and Letushim and Leummim
Giốc-chan sinh Sê-ba và Đê-đan; dòng dõi của Đê-đan là họ A-chu-rim, họ Lê-tu-chim, và họ Lê-um-mim.

Sau khi Áp-ra-ham qua đời, Đức Chúa Trời ban phước dồi dào cho Y-sác; lúc ấy Y-sác đã dời xuống La-chai-roi ở miền nam.

Đây là dòng dõi của Ích-ma-ên, con trai Áp-ra-ham và A-ga, người Ai Cập, nữ tì của Sa-ra.

Đây là dòng dõi của Y-sác, con trai Áp-ra-ham.

Khi được 40 tuổi, Y-sác cưới Rê-bê-ca, con gái của Bê-tu-ên, em của La-ban, người A-ram ở xứ Pha-đan A-ram.

Y-sác cầu thay cho vợ mình đang son sẻ, xin Chúa Hằng Hữu cho nàng sinh con. Chúa Hằng Hữu nhậm lời nên Rê-bê-ca thụ thai.

Dường như các bào thai đánh nhau trong bụng, đến nỗi nàng than rằng: “Tôi chịu không nổi.” Nàng cầu hỏi Chúa Hằng Hữu.
23 and to say LORD to/for her two (nation *Q(k)*) in/on/with belly: womb your and two people from belly your to separate and people from people to strengthen and many to serve little
Chúa Hằng Hữu đáp: “Hai con trai trong lòng ngươi sẽ trở thành hai nước chống đối nhau. Nước này mạnh hơn nước kia; đứa lớn sẽ phục dịch đứa nhỏ.”
24 and to fill day her to/for to beget and behold twin in/on/with belly: womb her
Quả nhiên, Rê-bê-ca sinh đôi.
25 and to come out: produce [the] first red all his like/as clothing hair and to call: call by name his Esau
Đứa đầu có nhiều lông đỏ hung hung, nên được đặt tên là Ê-sau.
26 and after so to come out: produce brother: male-sibling his and hand his to grasp in/on/with heel Esau and to call: call by name his Jacob and Isaac son: aged sixty year in/on/with to beget [obj] them
Đứa sau nắm gót chân anh nó, Ê-sau, lúc lọt lòng, nên có tên là Gia-cốp. Năm ấy, Y-sác đã sáu mươi tuổi.
27 and to magnify [the] youth and to be Esau man to know wild game man land: country and Jacob man complete to dwell tent
Hai đứa trẻ lớn lên. Ê-sau là một thợ săn tài giỏi, thường xông pha nơi đồng nội và rừng xanh; còn Gia-cốp thích sống trầm lặng trong nhà, quanh quẩn bên mẹ.
28 and to love: lover Isaac [obj] Esau for wild game in/on/with lip his and Rebekah to love: lover [obj] Jacob
Vì thế, Ê-sau được Y-sác cưng, còn Gia-cốp được mẹ yêu chiều.
29 and to boil Jacob stew and to come (in): come Esau from [the] land: country and he/she/it faint
Một hôm, Ê-sau đi săn về, mệt lả, và thấy Gia-cốp đang nấu nồi xúp thơm ngào ngạt.
30 and to say Esau to(wards) Jacob to eat me please from [the] red stuff [the] red stuff [the] this for faint I upon so to call: call by name his Edom
Ê-sau năn nỉ Gia-cốp: “Chao ôi, đói quá! Em cho anh ăn món súp đo đỏ đó với!” (Do đó mà Ê-sau có biệt danh là Ê-đôm, nghĩa là “đỏ.”)
31 and to say Jacob to sell [emph?] like/as day: today [obj] birthright your to/for me
Gia-cốp đề nghị: “Được rồi, anh cứ trao quyền trưởng nam cho tôi, tôi cho anh ăn súp!”
32 and to say Esau behold I to go: continue to/for to die and to/for what? this to/for me birthright
Ê-sau đáp: “Khi người ta đói gần chết, người ta còn giữ quyền trưởng nam làm gì.”
33 and to say Jacob to swear [emph?] to/for me like/as day: today and to swear to/for him and to sell [obj] birthright his to/for Jacob
Gia-cốp nắm ngay cơ hội: “Vậy anh thề đi.” Ê-Sau bèn thề và bán quyền trưởng nam cho em mình.
34 and Jacob to give: give to/for Esau food: bread and stew lentil and to eat and to drink and to arise: rise and to go: journey and to despise Esau [obj] [the] birthright
Gia-cốp liền cho Ê-sau ăn bánh, đậu đỏ, và xúp. Ăn xong, Ê-sau đứng dậy ra đi, không đếm xỉa gì đến quyền trưởng nam cả.
