Esther 2
1 after [the] word: thing [the] these like/as to subside rage [the] king Ahasuerus to remember [obj] Vashti and [obj] which to make: do and [obj] which to cut upon her
Ces choses s’étant ainsi passées, après que l’indignation du roi Assuérus se fut calmée, il se souvint de Vasthi, et de ce qu’elle avait fait, et de ce qu’elle avait souffert.
2 and to say youth [the] king to minister him to seek to/for king maiden virgin pleasant appearance
Alors les serviteurs du roi et ses ministres dirent: Qu’on cherche pour le roi de jeunes filles vierges et belles,
3 and to reckon: overseer [the] king overseer in/on/with all province royalty his and to gather [obj] all maiden virgin pleasant appearance to(wards) Susa [the] palace to(wards) house: palace [the] woman: wife to(wards) hand: power Hegai eunuch [the] king to keep: guard [the] woman and to give: give cosmetic their
Et qu’on envoie des gens qui considèrent dans toutes les provinces les jeunes filles vierges et belles, et qu’ils les amènent à la ville de Suse, et les mettent dans la maison des femmes, sous la main d’Egée, l’eunuque, qui est le préposé et le gardien des femmes du roi, et qu’elles prennent une parure de femme, et toutes les autres choses nécessaires à leur usage.
4 and [the] maiden which be good in/on/with eye: appearance [the] king to reign underneath: instead Vashti and be good [the] word: thing in/on/with eye: appearance [the] king and to make: do so
Et celle qui entre toutes plaira aux yeux du roi, celle-là régnera à la place de Vasthi. Ce discours plut au roi, et il ordonna qu’on fît comme ils avaient conseillé.
5 man Jew to be in/on/with Susa [the] palace and name his Mordecai son: child Jair son: child Shimei son: child Kish man Benjaminite
Il y avait dans la ville de Suse un homme juif, du nom de Mardochée, fils de Jaïr, fils de Séméi, fils de Cis, de la race de Jémini,
6 which to reveal: remove from Jerusalem with [the] captivity which to reveal: remove with Jeconiah king Judah which to reveal: remove Nebuchadnezzar king Babylon
Lequel avait été transféré de Jérusalem dans le temps que Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, y avait transféré Jéchonias, roi de Juda.
7 and to be be faithful [obj] Hadassah he/she/it Esther daughter beloved: male relative his for nothing to/for her father and mother and [the] maiden beautiful appearance and pleasant appearance and in/on/with death father her and mother her to take: take her Mordecai to/for him to/for daughter
Il élevait la fille de son frère, Edissa, qui s’appelait d’un autre nom Esther; et elle avait perdu son père et sa mère; elle était très belle et d’un visage gracieux. Son père et sa mère morts, Mardochée l’adopta pour sa fille.
8 and to be in/on/with to hear: proclaim word [the] king and law his and in/on/with to gather maiden many to(wards) Susa [the] palace to(wards) hand: power Hegai and to take: take Esther to(wards) house: home [the] king to(wards) hand: power Hegai to keep: guard [the] woman
Lors donc que l’ordre du roi eut été répandu, et que, selon son commandement, beaucoup de vierges belles étaient amenées à Suse et confiées à Egée l’eunuque, Esther aussi lui fut confiée entre toutes les autres, pour qu’elle fût conservée au nombre des femmes.
9 and be good [the] maiden in/on/with eye: appearance his and to lift: kindness kindness to/for face: kindness his and to dismay [obj] cosmetic her and [obj] portion her to/for to give: give to/for her and [obj] seven [the] maiden [the] to see: select to/for to give: give to/for her from house: home [the] king and to change her and [obj] maiden her to/for pleasant house: home [the] woman: wife
Elle lui plut, et elle trouva grâce en sa présence, et il commanda à un autre eunuque de préparer aussitôt une parure de femme, de lui donner ses portions et sept filles très belles de la maison du roi, de la parer et de l’embellir, tant elle-même que ses suivantes.
10 not to tell Esther [obj] people her and [obj] relatives her for Mordecai to command upon her which not to tell
Esther ne voulut pas lui indiquer son peuple et sa patrie, parce que Mardochée lui avait ordonné de garder entièrement le silence sur cela.
11 and in/on/with all day and day: daily Mordecai to go: walk to/for face: before court house: palace [the] woman: wife to/for to know [obj] peace: greeting Esther and what? to make: do in/on/with her
Et il se promenait tous les jours devant le vestibule de la maison dans laquelle les vierges choisies étaient gardées, s’inquiétant du salut d’Esther, et voulant savoir ce qui lui arriverait.

Or, lorsqu’était venu le temps de chacune des filles d’entrer selon son rang auprès du roi, et que tout ce qui concernait la parure était achevé, le douzième mois avait fait sa révolution: en sorte que pendant six mois elles s’oignaient d’huile de myrrhe, et pendant six autres mois, elles faisaient usage de parfums et d’aromates.
13 and in/on/with this [the] maiden to come (in): come to(wards) [the] king [obj] all which to say to give: give to/for her to/for to come (in): come with her from house: home [the] woman: wife till house: home [the] king
Et lorsqu’elles devaient entrer auprès du roi, tout ce qu’elles demandaient concernant la parure, elles le recevaient, et parées à leur gré, elles passaient de la salle à manger des femmes dans la chambre du roi.
14 in/on/with evening he/she/it to come (in): come and in/on/with morning he/she/it to return: return to(wards) house: palace [the] woman: wife second to(wards) hand: power Shaashgaz eunuch [the] king to keep: guard [the] concubine not to come (in): come still to(wards) [the] king that if: except if: except to delight in in/on/with her [the] king and to call: call to in/on/with name
Or celle qui était entrée le soir sortait le matin, et de là elle était conduite dans un autre appartement qui était sous la main de Susagazi, eunuque, lequel avait la garde des femmes du second rang; et elle n’avait pas le pouvoir de revenir encore auprès du roi, à moins que le roi ne le voulût, et n’eût commandé qu’elle vînt, en l’appelant par son nom.
15 and in/on/with to touch plait Esther daughter Abihail beloved: male relative Mordecai which to take: take to/for him to/for daughter to/for to come (in): come to(wards) [the] king not to seek word: thing that if: except if: except [obj] which to say Hegai eunuch [the] king to keep: guard [the] woman and to be Esther to lift: kindness favor in/on/with eye: appearance all to see: see her
Or, quelque temps s’étant écoulé, le jour approchait où, selon son rang, Esther, fille d’Abihaïl, frère de Mardochée, que Mardochée avait adoptée pour sa fille, devait entrer auprès du roi. Elle ne demanda pas d’ornement extraordinaire de femme; mais Egée, l’eunuque, gardien des vierges, lui donna tout ce qu’il voulut pour sa parure: car elle était très bien faite, et d’une incroyable beauté; et elle paraissait gracieuse et aimable aux yeux de tous.

Elle fut donc amenée dans la chambre du roi Assuérus, au dixième mois, qui est appelé Tébeth, la septième année de son règne.
17 and to love: lover [the] king [obj] Esther from all [the] woman and to lift: kindness favor and kindness to/for face: kindness his from all [the] virgin and to set: make crown royalty in/on/with head her and to reign her underneath: instead Vashti
Or le roi l’aima plus que toutes les autres femmes, et elle trouva grâce et bienveillance devant lui au-dessus de toutes les femmes, et il mit le diadème royal sur sa tête, et la fit régner à la place de Vasthi.
18 and to make: offer [the] king feast great: large to/for all ruler his and servant/slave his [obj] feast Esther and holiday to/for province to make: offer and to give: give tribute like/as hand: to [the] king
Et il commanda qu’on préparât un festin très magnifique à tous les princes et à tous ses serviteurs pour le mariage et les noces d’Esther. Il donna aussi du repos aux peuples de ses provinces, et il fit des largesses avec la magnificence d’un prince.
19 and in/on/with to gather virgin second and Mordecai to dwell in/on/with gate [the] king
Et lorsque, pour la seconde fois, on cherchait des vierges, et qu’on les rassemblait, Mardochée demeurait à la porte du roi.
20 nothing Esther to tell relatives her and [obj] people her like/as as which to command upon her Mordecai and [obj] command Mordecai Esther to make: do like/as as which to be in/on/with brought up with him
Esther n’avait point fait encore connaître sa patrie et son peuple, selon l’ordre de Mardochée; car tout ce qu’il commandait, Esther l’observait, et elle faisait toutes choses comme elle avait coutume lorsqu’il l’élevait petite enfant.
21 in/on/with day [the] they(masc.) and Mordecai to dwell in/on/with gate [the] king be angry Bigthan and Teresh two eunuch [the] king from to keep: guard [the] threshold and to seek to/for to send: reach hand in/on/with king Ahasuerus
Dans le temps donc que Mardochée demeurait à la porte du roi, Bagathan et Tharès, deux eunuques du roi qui étaient portiers, et gardaient la première entrée du palais, furent irrités, et voulurent s’insurger contre le roi et le tuer.
22 and to know [the] word: thing to/for Mordecai and to tell to/for Esther [the] queen and to say Esther to/for king in/on/with name Mordecai
Cela ne fut pas ignoré de Mardochée, qui l’annonça aussitôt à la reine Esther, et celle-ci au roi, au nom de Mardochée, qui lui avait déféré la chose.
23 and to seek [the] word: deed and to find and to hang two their upon tree: stake and to write in/on/with scroll: book word: deed [the] day to/for face: before [the] king
On chercha et on découvrit le complot, et l’un et l’autre furent pendus à une potence. Or cela fut écrit dans les histoires et inséré dans les annales devant le roi.
