< Ecclesiastes 12 >
1 and to remember [obj] to create you in/on/with day youth your till which not to come (in): come day [the] distress: evil and to touch year which to say nothing to/for me in/on/with them pleasure

2 till which not to darken [the] sun and [the] light and [the] moon and [the] star and to return: return [the] cloud after [the] rain
ʻI he teʻeki ai ke fakapoʻuli ʻae laʻā, pe ko e maama, pe ko e māhina, pe ko e ngaahi fetuʻu, pea ʻuha maʻu pe ʻae ngaahi ʻao:
3 in/on/with day which/that to tremble to keep: guard [the] house: home and to pervert human [the] strength and to cease [the] to grind for to diminish and to darken [the] to see: see in/on/with window
ʻI he ʻaho ʻe tetetete ʻae kau tauhi fale, pea ʻe fakatōmapeʻe ʻae kau tangata mālohi, pea kuo tuku ʻae momosi ʻae kau momosi koeʻuhi kuo siʻi, pea ʻe fakapoʻuli ʻakinautolu ʻoku sio atu ʻi he matapā sioʻata.
4 and to shut door in/on/with street in/on/with to abase voice: sound [the] mill and to arise: rise to/for voice: sound [the] bird and to bow all daughter [the] song
Pea ʻe tāpuni ʻae ngaahi matapā ʻi he hala, ʻoka siʻi ʻae longoaʻa ʻoe meʻa momosi, pea ʻe tuʻu hake ia ʻi he leʻo ʻoe manupuna, pea ʻe vaivai hifo ʻae ngaahi ʻofefine ʻoku fasi hiva;
5 also from high to fear and terror in/on/with way: journey and to spurn [the] almond and to bear [the] locust and to break [the] desire for to go: went [the] man to(wards) house: home forever: enduring his and to turn: turn (in/on/with street *L(abh)*) [the] to mourn
ʻOka nau ka manavahē foki ki he meʻa māʻolunga, pea ʻoku ʻi he hala ʻae ngaahi fakailifia, pea ʻe matamatalelei ʻae ʻakau ko e alamoni, pea ʻe mamafa ʻae heʻe, pea ʻe ʻosi ʻae tokanga: koeʻuhi ʻoku ʻalu ʻae tangata ki hono nofoʻanga tolonga, pea ʻoku ʻalu fano ʻi he ngaahi hala ʻae kau tangilāulau:
6 till which not (to bind *Q(K)*) cord [the] silver: money and to crush bowl [the] gold and to break jar upon [the] spring and to crush [the] wheel to(wards) [the] pit
ʻI he teʻeki vete ʻae afo siliva, pe laiki ʻae ipu koula, pe maumauʻi ʻae ipu ohu ʻi he veʻe matavai, pe maumauʻi ʻae meʻa tākai ʻi he ngutu ʻoe vaikeli.
7 and to return: return [the] dust upon [the] land: soil like/as which/that to be and [the] spirit to return: return to(wards) [the] God which to give: give her
Ka ʻe toki liliu ʻae efu ki he kelekele ʻo hangē ko ʻene ʻi ai: pea ʻe foki atu ʻae laumālie ki he ʻOtua ʻaia naʻa ne foaki ia.
8 vanity vanity to say [the] preacher [the] all vanity
“Vaʻinga ʻoe vaʻinga,” ʻoku pehē ʻe he Malanga. “ʻOku vaʻinga ʻae meʻa kotoa pē.”
9 and advantage which/that to be preacher wise still to learn: teach knowledge [obj] [the] people and to ponder and to search be straight proverb to multiply
Pea ko eni, koeʻuhi naʻe poto lahi ʻae Malanga, ko ia naʻa ne akonakiʻi ai ʻae kakai ki he poto; ʻio, naʻa ne tokanga lahi ʻo ne kumi atu mo ne fokotuʻu ʻae ngaahi lea fakatātā lahi.
10 to seek preacher to/for to find word pleasure and to write uprightness word truth: true
Naʻe kumi ʻe he Malanga ke ne maʻu ʻae lea lelei: pea ko ia kuo tohi ʻoku totonu ia, pea ko e ngaahi lea ia ʻoe moʻoni.
11 word wise like/as goad and like/as nail to plant master: [master of] collection to give: give from to pasture one
Ko e ngaahi lea ʻae poto ʻoku tatau ia mo e meʻa māsila, mo e faʻo ʻoku tuki ke maʻu ʻe he ʻEiki ʻoe ngaahi fakataha, ʻaia ʻoku foaki mei he tauhi pe taha.
12 and advantage from them son: child my to warn to make scroll: book to multiply nothing end and study to multiply weariness flesh
Pea ko eni, ʻE hoku foha, ke valokiʻi koe ʻe he ngaahi meʻa ni: ʻoku ʻikai hano ngataʻanga ʻoe ngaohi ʻoe tohi; pea ko e lau lahi ʻi he tohi ko e meʻa fakamāfasia ia ki he kakano.
13 end word: thing [the] all to hear: hear [obj] [the] God to fear: revere and [obj] commandment his to keep: obey for this all [the] man
Ke tau fanongo ki he fakaʻosi ʻoe ngaahi meʻa ni kotoa pē: Ke ke manavahē ki he ʻOtua, pea ke fai ki heʻene ngaahi fekau: he ʻoku kātoa ʻi he meʻa ni ʻae ngāue totonu ʻae tangata.
14 for [obj] all deed [the] God to come (in): bring in/on/with justice: judgement upon all to conceal if pleasant and if bad: evil
Koeʻuhi ʻe ʻomi ʻe he ʻOtua ʻae ngāue kotoa pē ki he fakamaau, mo e meʻa fufū kotoa pē, pe ko ha meʻa lelei ia pe kovi.
