Ecclesiastes 10
1 fly death to stink to bubble oil to mix precious from wisdom from glory folly little
Des mouches venimeuses corrompent, font tourner l’huile du parfumeur; Un peu de folie a plus de poids que sagesse et honneur.
2 heart wise to/for right his and heart fool to/for left his
Le sage a le cœur à droite, le cœur du sot est à gauche.
3 and also in/on/with way: road (like/as which/that fool *Q(K)*) to go: walk heart his to lack and to say to/for all fool he/she/it
Aussi bien, dans la voie où se dirige le sot, l’intelligence lui fait défaut: il révèle à tous qu’il est sot.
4 if spirit: temper [the] to rule to ascend: rise upon you place your not to rest for healing to rest sin great: large
Si la mauvaise humeur du souverain fait explosion contre toi, ne quitte pas ta place; car la douceur atténue de grandes offenses.
5 there distress: evil to see: see underneath: under [the] sun like/as unintentionally which/that to come out: come from to/for face: before [the] domineering
Il est un abus que j’ai observé sous le soleil et qui a l’air d’une inadvertance échappée au souverain:
6 to give: put [the] folly in/on/with height many and rich in/on/with poverty to dwell
la folie est appelée à de hautes situations, et des gens considérables demeurent dans un rang inférieur.
7 to see: see servant/slave upon horse and ruler to go: walk like/as servant/slave upon [the] land: soil
J’Ai vu des esclaves à cheval, et des grands allant à pied comme des esclaves.
8 to search pit in/on/with him to fall: fall and to break through wall to bite him serpent
Celui qui creuse une fosse y tombe; celui qui renverse une clôture, le serpent le mord.
9 to set out stone to hurt in/on/with them to break up/open tree: stick to endanger in/on/with them
Celui qui extrait des pierres peut se faire du mal; celui qui fend du bois s’expose à quelque danger.
10 if be blunt [the] iron and he/she/it not face to lighten and strength to prevail and advantage (to succeed *Q(k)*) wisdom
Si on a laissé s’émousser le fer, n’en affile-t-on pas le tranchant pour lui rendre sa force? Ainsi le véritable instrument du succès, c’est la sagesse.
11 if to bite [the] serpent in/on/with not charm and nothing advantage to/for master: [master of] [the] tongue
Si le serpent mord faute d’incantations, il n’y a point de profit pour le charmeur.
12 word lip wise favor and lips fool to swallow up him
Les paroles du sage éveillent la sympathie; les lèvres du sot causent sa perte.
13 beginning word lip his folly and end lip: word his madness bad: evil
Le début de ses paroles est sottise, la conclusion de son discours est méchante insanité.
14 and [the] fool to multiply word not to know [the] man what? which/that to be and which to be from after him who? to tell to/for him
Le sot a beau multiplier son verbiage: nul homme ne sait ce qui sera; qui pourrait lui dire d’avance ce qui arrivera après lui?
15 trouble [the] fool be weary/toil him which not to know to/for to go: journey to(wards) city
Le mal que se donnent les sots les exténue, tellement qu’ils ne savent trouver le chemin de la ville.
16 woe! to/for you land: country/planet which/that king your youth and ruler your in/on/with morning to eat
Malheureux pays, si ton roi est un esclave; et si les grands font ripaille dès le matin!
17 blessed you land: country/planet which/that king your son: child noble and ruler your in/on/with time to eat in/on/with might and not in/on/with drunkenness
Heureux pays, si ton roi est un fils de nobles et si les grands mangent à l’heure voulue, pour prendre des forces et non par goût de la boisson!
18 in/on/with sluggishness to sink [the] rafter and in/on/with idleness hand to drip [the] house: home
L’Indolence est cause que la charpente s’effondre; les mains nonchalantes que la pluie pénètre dans la maison.
19 to/for laughter to make food: bread and wine to rejoice life and [the] silver: money to answer [obj] [the] all
Pour se mettre en joie, on organise des festins; le vin égaie la vie, et l’argent répond à tout.
20 also in/on/with knowledge your king not to lighten and in/on/with chamber bed your not to lighten rich for bird [the] heaven to go: take [obj] [the] voice and master: men (wing *Q(K)*) to tell word: thing
Ne maudis pas le roi même en pensée; au fond de ta chambre à coucher, ne maudis par le riche, car l’oiseau du ciel transmettrait le son de ta voix et la gent ailée rapporterait les propos.
