௧“ஒருவன் ஒரு பெண்ணைத் திருமணம் செய்துகொண்டபின்பு, அவளிடத்தில் வெட்கக்கேடான காரியத்தைக் கண்டு, அவள்மேல் பிரியமற்றவனானால், அவன் விவாகரத்தின் கடிதத்தை எழுதி, அவளுடைய கையிலே கொடுத்து, அவளைத் தன் வீட்டிலிருந்து அனுப்பிவிடலாம்.

௨அவள் அவனுடைய வீட்டைவிட்டுப் போனபின்பு, வேறொருவனுக்கு மனைவியாகலாம்.

௩அந்த இரண்டாம் கணவனும் அவளை வெறுத்து, விவாகரத்தின் கடிதத்தை எழுதி, அவளுடைய கையிலே கொடுத்து, அவளைத் தன் வீட்டிலிருந்து அனுப்பிவிட்டாலும், அவளைத் திருமணம்செய்த அந்த இரண்டாம் கணவன் இறந்துபோனாலும்,

௪அவள் தீட்டுப்பட்டபடியினால், அவளை விவாகரத்து செய்த அவளுடைய முந்தின கணவன் திரும்பவும் அவளை மனைவியாகச் சேர்த்துக்கொள்ளக்கூடாது; அது யெகோவாவுக்கு முன்பாக அருவருப்பானது; உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா உனக்குச் சொந்தமாகக் கொடுக்கும் தேசத்தின்மேல் பாவத்தை வரச்செய்யாதே.

௫“ஒருவன் ஒரு பெண்ணைப் புதிதாகத் திருமணம்செய்திருந்தால், அவன் போருக்குப் புறப்படவேண்டாம்; அவன்மேல் எந்தவொரு வேலையையும் சுமத்தவேண்டாம்; அவன் ஒரு வருடம்வரை தன் வீட்டில் தன் விருப்பப்படி இருந்து, தான் திருமணம்செய்த பெண்ணைச் சந்தோஷப்படுத்துவானாக.

௬“மாவரைக்கும் அடிக்கல்லையாவது அதின் மேற்கல்லையாவது ஒருவரும் அடைமானமாக வாங்கக்கூடாது; அது ஜீவனை அடகு வாங்குவதுபோலாகும்.

௭“தன் சகோதரர்களாகிய இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களில் ஒருவனைத் திருடி, அதினால் ஆதாயத்துக்காக அவனை விற்றுப்போட்ட ஒருவன் அகப்பட்டால், அந்தத் திருடன் கொலைசெய்யப்படவேண்டும்; இப்படியே தீமையை உன் நடுவிலிருந்து விலக்குவாயாக.

௮“தொழுநோயைக்குறித்து லேவியர்களாகிய ஆசாரியர்கள் உங்களுக்குப் போதிக்கும் யாவையும் கவனித்துச் செய்யும்படி மிகவும் எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள்; நான் அவர்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டபடியே செய்யக் கவனமாயிருப்பீர்களாக.

௧௨அவன் ஏழையாயிருந்தால், நீ அவனுடைய அடகை வைத்துக்கொண்டு தூங்காமல்,

௧௩அவன் தன் ஆடையைப் போட்டுப் படுத்துக்கொண்டு, உன்னை ஆசீர்வதிக்கும்படி, பொழுதுபோகும்போது, திரும்ப அந்த அடகை அவனுக்குக் கொடுத்துவிடவேண்டும்; அது உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்கு முன்பாக உனக்கு நீதியாயிருக்கும்.

௧௪“உன் சகோதரர்களிலும், உன் தேசத்தின் வாசல்களிலுள்ள அந்நியரிலும் ஏழையும் எளிமையுமான கூலிக்காரனை ஒடுக்காதே.

௧௫அவன் வேலைசெய்த நாளிலேயே, பொழுதுபோகுமுன்னே, அவனுடைய கூலியை அவனுக்குக் கொடுத்துவிடவேண்டும்; அவன் ஏழையும் அதின்மேல் ஆவலுமாயிருக்கிறான்; அதைக் கொடுக்காவிட்டால் அவன் உன்னைக்குறித்துக் யெகோவாவை நோக்கி முறையிடுவான்; அது உனக்குப் பாவமாயிருக்கும்.

௧௬“பிள்ளைகளுக்காகப் பெற்றோர்களும், பெற்றோர்களுக்காகப் பிள்ளைகளும் கொலைசெய்யப்படவேண்டாம்; அவனவன் செய்த பாவத்திற்காக அவனவன் கொலைசெய்யப்படவேண்டும்.

௧௭“நீ அந்நியனுடைய நியாயத்தையும் திக்கற்ற பிள்ளையின் நியாயத்தையும் புரட்டாமலும், விதவையின் உடையை அடகாக வாங்காமலும் இருந்து,

௧௮நீ எகிப்திலே அடிமையாயிருந்ததையும், உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா உன்னை அங்கேயிருந்து மீட்டுக்கொண்டுவந்ததையும் நினைப்பாயாக; ஆகையால், இப்படிச் செய்யும்படி நான் உனக்குக் கட்டளையிடுகிறேன்.

௧௯“நீ உன் பயிரை அறுக்கும்போது உன் வயலிலே ஒரு அரிக்கட்டை மறதியாக வைத்து வந்தாயானால், அதை எடுத்துவர திரும்பிப் போகவேண்டாம்; உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா நீ செய்யும் வேலைகளையெல்லாம் ஆசீர்வதிப்பதற்காக, அதைப் பரதேசிக்கும் திக்கற்ற பிள்ளைக்கும் விதவைக்கும் விட்டுவிடுவாயாக.

௨௧நீ உன் திராட்சைப்பழங்களை அறுத்த பின்பு, மறுபடியும் அதை அறுக்கத் திரும்பிப்போகவேண்டாம்; அதை அந்நியனுக்கும், திக்கற்ற பிள்ளைக்கும், விதவைக்கும் விட்டுவிடுவாயாக.
