Deuteronomy 20
1 for to come out: come to/for battle upon enemy your and to see: see horse and chariot people: soldiers many from you not to fear from them for LORD God your with you [the] to ascend: rise you from land: country/planet Egypt
“ʻOka ke ka ʻalu ke tauʻi ho ngaahi fili, mo ke mamata ki he fanga hoosi, mo e ngaahi saliote, mo e kakai ʻoku tokolahi hake ʻiate koe, ʻoua naʻa ke manavahē kiate kinautolu: he ʻoku ʻiate koe ʻa Sihova ko ho ʻOtua, ʻaia naʻa ne ʻomi koe mei he fonua ko ʻIsipite.
2 and to be like/as to present: come you to(wards) [the] battle and to approach: approach [the] priest and to speak: speak to(wards) [the] people
Pea ʻe hoko ʻo pehē, ʻi hoʻomou hoko ʻo ofi ki he tau, ʻe ʻunuʻunu mai ʻae taulaʻeiki ʻo lea ki he kakai,
3 and to say to(wards) them to hear: hear Israel you(m. p.) approaching [the] day to/for battle upon enemy your not be tender heart your not to fear and not to hurry and not to tremble from face of their
Pea ʻe pehē ʻe ia kiate kinautolu, ‘Fanongo, ʻE ʻIsileli, ʻoku mou hoko ʻo ofi he ʻaho ni ke tau mo homou ngaahi fili: ʻoua naʻa mou loto foʻi, pea ʻoua naʻa mou manavahē, pe tetetete, pe lilika kiate kinautolu;
4 for LORD God your [the] to go: went with you to/for to fight to/for you with enemy your to/for to save [obj] you
He ko Sihova ko homou ʻOtua ia ʻaia ʻoku ʻalu mo kimoutolu, ke tauʻi homou ngaahi fili maʻamoutolu, ke fakamoʻui ʻakimoutolu.’
5 and to speak: speak [the] official to(wards) [the] people to/for to say who? [the] man which to build house: home new and not to dedicate him to go: went and to return: return to/for house: home his lest to die in/on/with battle and man another to dedicate him
“Pea ʻe lea ʻae kau matāpule ki he kakai, ʻo pehē, ‘Ko hai ha tangata kuo ne langa ha fale foʻou, pea ʻoku teʻeki ai hūfia ia; ke ʻalu ia ʻo foki ki hono fale, telia naʻa mate ia ʻi he tau, pea huufi ia ʻe ha tangata kehe.
6 and who? [the] man which to plant vineyard and not to profane/begin: fruit him to go: went and to return: return to/for house: home his lest to die in/on/with battle and man another to profane/begin: fruit him
Pea ko hai ha tangata kuo ne tō ʻae ngoue vaine, pea ʻoku teʻeki ai te ne kai mei ai? Ke ʻalu ia ʻo foki ki hono fale, telia naʻa mate ia ʻi he tau, pea kai mei ai ʻe ha tangata kehe.
7 and who? [the] man which to betroth woman: wife and not to take: marry her to go: went and to return: return to/for house: home his lest to die in/on/with battle and man another to take: marry her
Pea ko hai ha tangata kuo poloʻi ha fefine kiate ia, pea ʻoku teʻeki ai te ne maʻu ia? Ke ʻalu ia pea foki ki hono fale, telia naʻa mate ia ʻi he tau, pea maʻu ia ʻe ha tangata kehe.’
8 and to add: again [the] official to/for to speak: speak to(wards) [the] people and to say who? [the] man [the] afraid and tender [the] heart to go: went and to return: return to/for house: home his and not to melt [obj] heart brother: compatriot his like/as heart his
Pea ʻe toe lea ʻae kau matāpule ki he kakai, pea tenau pehē, ‘Ko hai ha tangata ʻoku manavahē mo loto foʻi? Ke ʻalu ia ʻo foki ki hono fale, telia naʻa vaivai foki ʻae loto ʻo hono ngaahi kāinga ʻo hangē ko hono loto.’
9 and to be like/as to end: finish [the] official to/for to speak: speak to(wards) [the] people and to reckon: overseer ruler army in/on/with head: leader [the] people
Pea ʻe pehē, ʻoka hili ʻae lea ʻae kau matāpule ki he kakai tenau toki fakanofo ʻae kau ʻeikitau ki he kau tau kenau taki ʻae tau.
10 for to present: come to(wards) city to/for to fight upon her and to call: call to to(wards) her to/for peace
“ʻOka ke ka hoko ʻo ofi ki ha kolo ke tauʻi ia, te ke fakahā ʻae melino ki ai.
11 and to be if peace to answer you and to open to/for you and to be all [the] people [the] to find in/on/with her to be to/for you to/for taskworker and to serve you
Pea ʻe pehē, kapau ʻoku tali fakamelino ia, pea ʻoku toʻo ia kiate koe, pea ʻe toki pehē, ko e kakai kotoa pē ʻoku ʻi ai ʻe hopoate kotoa pē kiate koe, pea tenau tauhi koe.
12 and if not to ally with you and to make with you battle and to confine upon her
Pea kapau ʻe ʻikai fai ia ha fakalelei mo koe, ka ʻoku loto ke tauʻi koe, te ke toki tauʻi ia:
13 and to give: give her LORD God your in/on/with hand: power your and to smite [obj] all male her to/for lip: edge sword
Pea hili hono tuku ia ʻe Sihova ko ho ʻOtua ki ho nima, te ke taaʻi ʻae tangata kotoa pē ʻoku ʻi ai ʻaki ʻae mata ʻoe heletā:
14 except [the] woman and [the] child and [the] animal and all which to be in/on/with city all spoil her to plunder to/for you and to eat [obj] spoil enemy your which to give: give LORD God your to/for you
Ka ko e kau fefine, mo e fānau siʻi, mo e fanga manu, mo e meʻa kotoa pē ʻoku ʻi he kolo, ʻio, ko e meʻa vete kotoa pē ʻo ia, ke ke toʻo kiate koe; pea ke kai ʻae meʻa vete ʻa ho ngaahi fili, ʻaia kuo foaki ʻe Sihova ko ho ʻOtua kiate koe.
15 so to make: do to/for all [the] city [the] distant from you much which not from city [the] nation [the] these they(fem.)
Ke ke fai pehē pe ki he ngaahi kolo ʻaia ʻoku mamaʻo ʻaupito meiate koe, ʻaia ʻoku ʻikai ʻi he ngaahi kolo ʻoe ngaahi puleʻanga ni.
16 except from city [the] people [the] these which LORD God your to give: give to/for you inheritance not to live all breath
Ka ko e ngaahi kolo ʻae kakai ni, ʻaia ʻoku foaki kiate koe ʻe Sihova ko ho ʻOtua ko ho tofiʻa, ʻoua naʻa ke fakamoʻui ha tokotaha ʻoku mānava:
17 for to devote/destroy to devote/destroy them [the] Hittite and [the] Amorite [the] Canaanite and [the] Perizzite [the] Hivite and [the] Jebusite like/as as which to command you LORD God your
Ka te ke fakaʻauha ʻaupito ʻakinautolu; ʻae kau Heti, mo e kau ʻAmoli, mo e kau Kēnani, mo e kau Pelesi, mo e kau Hevi, mo e kau Sepusi; ʻo hangē ko e fekau ʻa Sihova ko ho ʻOtua kiate koe:
18 because which not to learn: teach [obj] you to/for to make: do like/as all abomination their which to make: do to/for God their and to sin to/for LORD God your
Koeʻuhi ke ʻoua naʻa nau ako kiate kimoutolu ke fai ʻo hangē ko ʻenau ngaahi ngāue kovi ki honau ngaahi ʻotua: pea mou fai angahala ai kia Sihova ko homou ʻOtua.
19 for to confine to(wards) city day many to/for to fight upon her to/for to capture her not to ruin [obj] tree her to/for to banish upon him axe for from him to eat and [obj] him not to cut: cut for man tree [the] land: country to/for to come (in): besiege from face: before your in/on/with siege
“ʻOka ke ka kāpui ha kolo ʻo fuoloa, ʻi hoʻo tauʻi ia ke lavaʻi, ʻoua naʻa ke maumauʻi ʻae ngaahi ʻakau ʻo ia ʻi hoʻo ʻai mālohi ʻae toki ki ai: he koeʻuhi te ke kai mei ai, pea ʻoua naʻa ke tā hifo ia ke ngāueʻaki ʻi he tau, (he ko e ʻakau ʻoe ngoue ko e moʻui ia ʻae tangata: )
20 except tree which to know for not tree food he/she/it [obj] him to ruin and to cut: cut and to build siege upon [the] city which he/she/it to make with you battle till to go down she
Ka ko e ngaahi ʻakau ʻoku ke ʻilo ʻoku ʻikai ko e ngaahi ʻakau fua ke kai, ke ke maumau mo ke tā hifo ia, pea te ke tanu puke ki he kolo ʻoku ne tauʻi koe kaeʻoua ke ke lavaʻi ia.
