Deuteronomy 20
1 for to come out: come to/for battle upon enemy your and to see: see horse and chariot people: soldiers many from you not to fear from them for LORD God your with you [the] to ascend: rise you from land: country/planet Egypt
੧ਜਦ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਜਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਘੋੜੇ, ਰਥ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਸੈਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖੋ, ਤਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਨਾ ਡਰਿਓ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੇਸ਼ ਤੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਲਿਆਇਆ।
2 and to be like/as to present: come you to(wards) [the] battle and to approach: approach [the] priest and to speak: speak to(wards) [the] people
੨ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਕਿ ਜਦ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਨੇੜੇ ਜਾਓ, ਤਦ ਜਾਜਕ ਸੈਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰੇ,
3 and to say to(wards) them to hear: hear Israel you(m. p.) approaching [the] day to/for battle upon enemy your not be tender heart your not to fear and not to hurry and not to tremble from face of their
੩ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖੇ, “ਹੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਸੁਣ, ਅੱਜ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਨੇੜੇ ਆਏ ਹੋ। ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਮਨ ਕੱਚਾ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨਾ ਡਰੋ, ਨਾ ਘਬਰਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਕੰਬੋ,
4 for LORD God your [the] to go: went with you to/for to fight to/for you with enemy your to/for to save [obj] you
੪ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰੇ।”
5 and to speak: speak [the] official to(wards) [the] people to/for to say who? [the] man which to build house: home new and not to dedicate him to go: went and to return: return to/for house: home his lest to die in/on/with battle and man another to dedicate him
੫ਫੇਰ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਣ, “ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਨਵਾਂ ਘਰ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੋਵੇ, ਪਰ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਮਰਪਣ ਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਵੇ? ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਜਾਵੇ, ਕਿਤੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਯੁੱਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਰ ਜਾਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਮਰਪਣ ਕਰੇ।
6 and who? [the] man which to plant vineyard and not to profane/begin: fruit him to go: went and to return: return to/for house: home his lest to die in/on/with battle and man another to profane/begin: fruit him
੬ਅਤੇ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਅੰਗੂਰੀ ਬਾਗ਼ ਲਾਇਆ ਹੋਵੇ ਪਰ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਫਲ ਨਾ ਵਰਤਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ? ਉਹ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਜਾਵੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਯੁੱਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਰ ਜਾਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਫਲ ਵਰਤੇ।
7 and who? [the] man which to betroth woman: wife and not to take: marry her to go: went and to return: return to/for house: home his lest to die in/on/with battle and man another to take: marry her
੭ਅਤੇ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੁੜੀ ਨਾਲ ਮੰਗਣੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਵੇ, ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ, ਉਹ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਜਾਵੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਯੁੱਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਰ ਜਾਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰੇ।”
8 and to add: again [the] official to/for to speak: speak to(wards) [the] people and to say who? [the] man [the] afraid and tender [the] heart to go: went and to return: return to/for house: home his and not to melt [obj] heart brother: compatriot his like/as heart his
੮ਫੇਰ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਆਖਣ, “ਕੌਣ-ਕੌਣ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਡਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਦਾ ਕੱਚਾ ਹੈ? ਉਹ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਜਾਵੇ, ਕਿਤੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੌਂਸਲਾ ਵੀ ਟੁੱਟ ਜਾਵੇ।”
9 and to be like/as to end: finish [the] official to/for to speak: speak to(wards) [the] people and to reckon: overseer ruler army in/on/with head: leader [the] people
੯ਫੇਰ ਜਦ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਆਖ ਚੁੱਕਣ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਸੈਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੈਨਾਪਤੀ ਠਹਿਰਾਉਣ।
10 for to present: come to(wards) city to/for to fight upon her and to call: call to to(wards) her to/for peace
੧੦ਜਦ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨਾਲ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਨੇੜੇ ਜਾਓ, ਤਾਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਲਾਹ ਲਈ ਹੋਕਾ ਦਿਓ।
11 and to be if peace to answer you and to open to/for you and to be all [the] people [the] to find in/on/with her to be to/for you to/for taskworker and to serve you
੧੧ਜੇਕਰ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਲਾਹ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਹੋਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਫਾਟਕ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਦੇਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਕਿ ਉੱਥੇ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਬੇਗਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਟਹਿਲ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨ।
12 and if not to ally with you and to make with you battle and to confine upon her
੧੨ਜੇ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਲਾਹ ਨਾ ਕਰੇ ਪਰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੇ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਘੇਰਾ ਪਾ ਲਿਓ,
13 and to give: give her LORD God your in/on/with hand: power your and to smite [obj] all male her to/for lip: edge sword
੧੩ਅਤੇ ਜਦ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੇ ਦੇਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪੁਰਖ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਦੀ ਧਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਢ ਸੁੱਟਿਓ,
14 except [the] woman and [the] child and [the] animal and all which to be in/on/with city all spoil her to plunder to/for you and to eat [obj] spoil enemy your which to give: give LORD God your to/for you
੧੪ਪਰ ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ, ਬੱਚੇ, ਪਸ਼ੂ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਉਸ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਲੁੱਟ ਦਾ ਮਾਲ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਲੁੱਟ ਲਿਓ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਲੁੱਟ ਨੂੰ ਵਰਤਿਓ, ਜਿਹੜੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।
15 so to make: do to/for all [the] city [the] distant from you much which not from city [the] nation [the] these they(fem.)
੧੫ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਕਰਿਓ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਦੂਰ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਇੱਥੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ।
16 except from city [the] people [the] these which LORD God your to give: give to/for you inheritance not to live all breath
੧੬ਪਰ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਉਂਦਾ ਨਾ ਰਹਿਣ ਦਿਓ,
17 for to devote/destroy to devote/destroy them [the] Hittite and [the] Amorite [the] Canaanite and [the] Perizzite [the] Hivite and [the] Jebusite like/as as which to command you LORD God your
੧੭ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਸ ਕਰ ਦਿਓ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਹਿੱਤੀਆਂ, ਅਮੋਰੀਆਂ, ਕਨਾਨੀਆਂ, ਫ਼ਰਿੱਜ਼ੀਆਂ, ਹਿੱਵੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਯਬੂਸੀਆਂ ਦਾ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ,
18 because which not to learn: teach [obj] you to/for to make: do like/as all abomination their which to make: do to/for God their and to sin to/for LORD God your
੧੮ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਰਗੇ ਘਿਣਾਉਣੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨਾ ਸਿਖਾਉਣ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗੋ।
19 for to confine to(wards) city day many to/for to fight upon her to/for to capture her not to ruin [obj] tree her to/for to banish upon him axe for from him to eat and [obj] him not to cut: cut for man tree [the] land: country to/for to come (in): besiege from face: before your in/on/with siege
੧੯ਜਦ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਕਿਸੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਿੱਤਣ ਲਈ ਬਹੁਤ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਘੇਰ ਕੇ ਰੱਖੋ, ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਰੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਹਾੜੀ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਢ ਕੇ ਨਾਸ ਨਾ ਕਰਿਓ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਫਲ ਖਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹੋ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਵੱਢਿਓ। ਭਲਾ, ਖੇਤ ਦੇ ਰੁੱਖ ਆਦਮੀ ਵਰਗੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਘੇਰ ਕੇ ਰੱਖੋ?
20 except tree which to know for not tree food he/she/it [obj] him to ruin and to cut: cut and to build siege upon [the] city which he/she/it to make with you battle till to go down she
੨੦ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਉਹ ਰੁੱਖ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਫਲਦਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵੱਢ ਕੇ ਨਾਸ ਕਰ ਸੁੱਟਿਓ, ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੱਕ ਘੇਰਾਬੰਦੀ ਕਰਕੇ ਰੱਖਿਓ, ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਉਹ ਜਿੱਤਿਆ ਨਾ ਜਾਵੇ।
