Deuteronomy 20

1 for to come out: come to/for battle upon enemy your and to see: see horse and chariot people: soldiers many from you not to fear from them for LORD God your with you [the] to ascend: rise you from land: country/planet Egypt

Wenn du gegen deinen Feind in den Krieg ziehst und Rosse und Wagen, sowie ein an Zahl dir überlegenes Kriegsvolk erblickst, so sollst du dich nicht vor ihnen fürchten, denn Jahwe, dein Gott, der dich aus Ägypten hergeführt hat, ist mit dir.

2 and to be like/as to present: come you to(wards) [the] battle and to approach: approach [the] priest and to speak: speak to(wards) [the] people

Wenn ihr euch nun zum Kampf anschickt, so trete der Priester heran und rede zu dem Volk

3 and to say to(wards) them to hear: hear Israel you(m. p.) approaching [the] day to/for battle upon enemy your not be tender heart your not to fear and not to hurry and not to tremble from face of their

und spreche zu ihnen: Höre, Israel! Ihr schickt euch heute an zum Kampfe mit euren Feinden; seid unverzagten Mutes und fürchtet euch nicht, erbebet nicht und erschreckt nicht vor ihnen.

4 for LORD God your [the] to go: went with you to/for to fight to/for you with enemy your to/for to save [obj] you

Denn Jahwe, euer Gott, zieht mit euch, um für euch mit euren Feinden zu streiten und euch Sieg zu verleihen.

5 and to speak: speak [the] official to(wards) [the] people to/for to say who? [the] man which to build house: home new and not to dedicate him to go: went and to return: return to/for house: home his lest to die in/on/with battle and man another to dedicate him

Dann sollen die Beamten also zu dem Kriegsvolke sprechen: Jedermann unter euch, der ein neues Haus gebaut und noch nicht eingeweiht hat, mag abtreten und heimkehren, damit er nicht in der Schlacht umkomme, und ein anderer es einweihe!

6 and who? [the] man which to plant vineyard and not to profane/begin: fruit him to go: went and to return: return to/for house: home his lest to die in/on/with battle and man another to profane/begin: fruit him

Und jedermann, der einen Weinberg gepflanzt und noch nicht zu nutzen angefangen hat, trete ab und kehre heim, damit er nicht in der Schlacht umkommme, und ein anderer ihn zu nutzen anfange.

7 and who? [the] man which to betroth woman: wife and not to take: marry her to go: went and to return: return to/for house: home his lest to die in/on/with battle and man another to take: marry her

Auch wer sich ein Weib verlobt, aber noch nicht heimgeführt hat, trete ab und kehre heim, damit er nicht in der Schlacht umkomme, und ein anderer sie heimführe.

8 and to add: again [the] official to/for to speak: speak to(wards) [the] people and to say who? [the] man [the] afraid and tender [the] heart to go: went and to return: return to/for house: home his and not to melt [obj] heart brother: compatriot his like/as heart his

Weiter sollen dann die Beamten zu dem Kriegsvolke sprechen: Jeder, der furchtsam und mutlos ist, trete ab und kehre heim, damit er seine Volksgenossen, nicht auch so mutlos mache, wie er ist.

9 and to be like/as to end: finish [the] official to/for to speak: speak to(wards) [the] people and to reckon: overseer ruler army in/on/with head: leader [the] people

Wenn aber die Beamten ihre Ansprache an das Volk beendigt haben, soll man Truppenführer an die Spitze des Volkes stellen.

10 for to present: come to(wards) city to/for to fight upon her and to call: call to to(wards) her to/for peace

Wenn du dich zur Belagerung einer Stadt anschickst, so sollst du ihr ein gütliches Abkommen anbieten,

11 and to be if peace to answer you and to open to/for you and to be all [the] people [the] to find in/on/with her to be to/for you to/for taskworker and to serve you

und wenn sie in das gütliche Abkommen einwilligt und dir die Thore öffnet, so soll dir alles in ihr befindliche Volk fronpflichtig und unterthan sein.

12 and if not to ally with you and to make with you battle and to confine upon her

Wenn sie aber kein gütliches Abkommen mit dir treffen, sondern Krieg mit dir führen will, so sollst du sie belagern

13 and to give: give her LORD God your in/on/with hand: power your and to smite [obj] all male her to/for lip: edge sword

und, wenn sie Jahwe, dein Gott, in deine Gewalt gegeben hat, alles, was an Männern darin ist, mit dem Schwerte töten,

14 except [the] woman and [the] child and [the] animal and all which to be in/on/with city all spoil her to plunder to/for you and to eat [obj] spoil enemy your which to give: give LORD God your to/for you

dagegen die Weiber und Kinder, das Vieh und alles, was sich sonst in der Stadt findet, alles in ihr Erbeutete, dir rauben und das von deinen Feinden Erbeutete, das dir Jahwe, dein Gott, gegeben hat, genießen.

15 so to make: do to/for all [the] city [the] distant from you much which not from city [the] nation [the] these they(fem.)

Auf diese Weise sollst du mit allen den Städten verfahren, die sehr weit von dir entfernt liegen, die nicht zu den Städten dieser Völker gehören.

16 except from city [the] people [the] these which LORD God your to give: give to/for you inheritance not to live all breath

Dagegen in den Städten dieser Völker, die dir Jahwe, dein Gott, zum Eigentume giebt, sollst du keine Seele am Leben lassen.

17 for to devote/destroy to devote/destroy them [the] Hittite and [the] Amorite [the] Canaanite and [the] Perizzite [the] Hivite and [the] Jebusite like/as as which to command you LORD God your

Vielmehr mußt du den Bann an ihnen vollstrecken: an den Hethitern, Amoritern, Kanaanitern, Pheresitern, Hevitern und Jebusitern, wie dir Jahwe, dein Gott, befohlen hat,

18 because which not to learn: teach [obj] you to/for to make: do like/as all abomination their which to make: do to/for God their and to sin to/for LORD God your

damit sie euch nicht lehren, alle ihre Greuel nachzuahmen, die sie ihren Göttern zu Ehren verübt haben, und ihr euch so gegen Jahwe, euren Gott, versündigt.

19 for to confine to(wards) city day many to/for to fight upon her to/for to capture her not to ruin [obj] tree her to/for to banish upon him axe for from him to eat and [obj] him not to cut: cut for man tree [the] land: country to/for to come (in): besiege from face: before your in/on/with siege

Wenn du eine Stadt behufs ihrer Belagerung lange Zeit einschließen mußt, um sie zu erobern, so verdirb nicht die zu ihr gehörenden Bäume, indem du die Axt an sie legst, sondern genieße ihre Früchte, sie selbst aber haue nicht um. Oder sind etwa die Bäume des Feldes Menschen, daß auch sie der Belagerung von dir unterworfen werden sollten?

20 except tree which to know for not tree food he/she/it [obj] him to ruin and to cut: cut and to build siege upon [the] city which he/she/it to make with you battle till to go down she

Nur solche Bäume, von denen du weißt, daß sie keine eßbaren Früchte tragen, darfst du verderben und umhauen, um gegen die Stadt, welche Krieg mit dir führt, Belagerungswerke zu errichten, bis sie fällt.
