< 2 Timothy 2 >
1 you therefore/then child me to strengthen in/on/among the/this/who grace the/this/who in/on/among Christ Jesus
You then, my child, must be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
2 and which to hear from/with/beside I/we through/because of much witness this/he/she/it to set before faithful a human who/which sufficient to be and other to teach
All that you have been taught by me in the hearing of many witnesses, you must hand on to trusty men who shall themselves, in turn, be competent to instruct others also.
3 (you *k*) (therefore/then *K*) (to suffer with *N(k)O*) as/when good soldier Christ Jesus
As a good soldier of Christ Jesus accept your share of suffering.
4 none to battle to entangle/involve the/this/who the/this/who life affairs in order that/to the/this/who to enlist to please
Every one who serves as a soldier keeps himself from becoming entangled in the world's business--so that he may satisfy the officer who enlisted him.
5 if then and to compete one no to crown if not lawfully to compete
And if any one takes part in an athletic contest, he gets no prize unless he obeys the rules.
6 the/this/who to labor farmer be necessary first the/this/who fruit to partake
The harvestman who labours in the field must be the first to get a share of the crop.
7 to understand (which *N(k)O*) to say (to give *N(k)O*) for you the/this/who lord: God understanding in/on/among all
Mark well what I am saying: the Lord will give you discernment in everything.
8 to remember Jesus Christ to arise out from dead out from seed: offspring David according to the/this/who gospel me
Never forget that Jesus Christ has risen from among the dead and is a descendant of David, as is declared in the Good News which I preach.
9 in/on/among which to endure until chain as/when criminal but the/this/who word the/this/who God no to bind
For preaching the Good News I suffer, and am even put in chains, as if I were a criminal: yet the word of God is not imprisoned.
10 through/because of this/he/she/it all to remain/endure through/because of the/this/who select in order that/to and it/s/he salvation to obtain/happen the/this/who in/on/among Christ Jesus with/after glory eternal (aiōnios )
For this reason I endure all things for the sake of God's own people; so that they also may obtain salvation--even the salvation which is in Christ Jesus--and with it eternal glory. (aiōnios )
11 faithful the/this/who word if for to die with and to live together
Faithful is the saying: "If we died with Him, we shall also live with Him;
12 if to remain/endure and to reign with if (to deny *N(k)O*) and that to deny me
"If we patiently endure pain, we shall also share His Kingship; "If we disown Him, He will also disown us;
13 if to disbelieve that faithful to stay to deny (for *no*) themself no be able
"And even if our faith fails, He remains true--He cannot prove false to Himself."
14 this/he/she/it to remind to testify solemnly before the/this/who (God *N(K)O*) not to quarrel (upon/to/against *N(k)O*) none profitable upon/to/against ruin the/this/who to hear
Bring all this to men's remembrances, solemnly charging them in the presence of God not to waste time in wrangling about mere words, a course which is altogether unprofitable and tends only to the ruin of the hearers.
15 be eager you tested to stand by the/this/who God worker unashamed to cut straight the/this/who word the/this/who truth
Earnestly seek to commend yourself to God as a servant who, because of his straightforward dealing with the word of truth, has no reason to feel any shame.
16 the/this/who then profane empty talk to stand around upon/to/against greater for to advance ungodlinessness
But from irreligious and frivolous talk hold aloof, for those who indulge in it will proceed from bad to worse in impiety,
17 and the/this/who word it/s/he as/when gangrene pasture to have/be which to be Hymenaeus and Philetus
and their teaching will spread like a running sore. Hymenaeus and Philetus are men of that stamp.
18 who/which about the/this/who truth to deviate to say the/this/who resurrection already to be and to overturn the/this/who one faith
In the matter of the truth they have gone astray, saying that the Resurrection is already past, and so they are overthrowing the faith of some.
19 the/this/who yet strong foundation the/this/who God to stand to have/be the/this/who seal this/he/she/it to know lord: God the/this/who to be it/s/he and to leave away from unrighteousness all the/this/who to name the/this/who name (lord: God *N(K)O*)
Yet God's solid foundation stands unmoved, bearing this inscription, "The Lord knows those who really belong to Him." And this also, "Let every one who names the Name of the Lord renounce all wickedness."
20 in/on/among great then home no to be alone vessel golden and silver but and wooden and clay and which on the other hand toward honor which then toward dishonour
Now in a great house there are not only articles of gold and silver, but also others of wood and of earthenware; and some are for specially honourable, and others for common use.
21 if therefore/then one to cleanse themself away from this/he/she/it to be vessel toward honor to sanctify (and *k*) helpful the/this/who master toward all work good to make ready
If therefore a man keeps himself clear of these latter, he himself will be for specially honourable use, consecrated, fit for the Master's service, and fully equipped for every good work.
22 the/this/who then youthful desire to flee to pursue then righteousness faith love peace with/after the/this/who to call (on)/name the/this/who lord: God out from clean heart
Keep a strong curb, however, on your youthful cravings; and strive for integrity, good faith, love, peace, in company with all who pray to the Lord with pure hearts.
23 the/this/who then foolish and uninstructed controversy to refuse/excuse to know that/since: that to beget quarrel
But avoid foolish discussions with ignorant men, knowing--as you do--that these lead to quarrels;
24 slave then lord: God no be necessary to quarrel but gentle to exist to/with all able to teach not resentful
and a bondservant of the Lord must not quarrel, but must be inoffensive towards all men, a skilful teacher, and patient under wrongs.
25 in/on/among gentleness to instruct the/this/who to oppose not once/when (to give *NK(o)*) it/s/he the/this/who God repentance toward knowledge truth
He must speak in a gentle tone when correcting the errors of opponents, in the hope that God will at last give them repentance, for them to come to a full knowledge of the truth
26 and to regain senses out from the/this/who the/this/who devilish/the Devil trap to capture alive by/under: by it/s/he toward the/this/who that will/desire
and recover sober-mindedness and freedom from the Devil's snare, though they are now entrapped by him to do his will.
