1 and to be after death Saul and David to return: return from to smite [obj] [the] Amalek and to dwell David in/on/with Ziklag day two
وَكَانَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِ شَاوُلَ وَرُجُوعِ دَاوُدَ مِنْ مُضَارَبَةِ ٱلْعَمَالِقَةِ، أَنَّ دَاوُدَ أَقَامَ فِي صِقْلَغَ يَوْمَيْنِ.١
2 and to be in/on/with day [the] third and behold man to come (in): come from [the] camp from from with Saul and garment his to tear and land: soil upon head his and to be in/on/with to come (in): come he to(wards) David and to fall: fall land: soil [to] and to bow
وَفِي ٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلثَّالِثِ إِذَا بِرَجُلٍ أَتَى مِنَ ٱلْمَحَلَّةِ مِنْ عِنْدِ شَاوُلَ وَثِيَابُهُ مُمَزَّقَةٌ وَعَلَى رَأْسِهِ تُرَابٌ. فَلَمَّا جَاءَ إِلَى دَاوُدَ خَرَّ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَسَجَدَ.٢
3 and to say to/for him David where? from this to come (in): come and to say to(wards) him from camp Israel to escape
فَقَالَ لَهُ دَاوُدُ: «مِنْ أَيْنَ أَتَيْتَ؟» فَقَالَ لَهُ: «مِنْ مَحَلَّةِ إِسْرَائِيلَ نَجَوْتُ».٣
4 and to say to(wards) him David what? to be [the] word: thing to tell please to/for me and to say which to flee [the] people from [the] battle and also to multiply to fall: fall from [the] people and to die and also Saul and Jonathan son: child his to die
فَقَالَ لَهُ دَاوُدُ: «كَيْفَ كَانَ ٱلْأَمْرُ؟ أَخْبِرْنِي». فَقَالَ: «إِنَّ ٱلشَّعْبَ قَدْ هَرَبَ مِنَ ٱلْقِتَالِ، وَسَقَطَ أَيْضًا كَثِيرُونَ مِنَ ٱلشَّعْبِ وَمَاتُوا، وَمَاتَ شَاوُلُ وَيُونَاثَانُ ٱبْنُهُ أَيْضًا».٤
5 and to say David to(wards) [the] youth [the] to tell to/for him how? to know for to die Saul and Jonathan son: child his
فَقَالَ دَاوُدُ لِلْغُلَامِ ٱلَّذِي أَخْبَرَهُ: «كَيْفَ عَرَفْتَ أَنَّهُ قَدْ مَاتَ شَاوُلُ وَيُونَاثَانُ ٱبْنُهُ؟»٥
6 and to say [the] youth [the] to tell to/for him to encounter: chanced to meet in/on/with mountain: mount [the] (Mount) Gilboa and behold Saul to lean upon spear his and behold [the] chariot and master: [master of] [the] horseman to cleave him
فَقَالَ ٱلْغُلَامُ ٱلَّذِي أَخْبَرَهُ: «ٱتَّفَقَ أَنِّي كُنْتُ فِي جَبَلِ جِلْبُوعَ وَإِذَا شَاوُلُ يَتَوَكَّأُ عَلَى رُمْحِهِ، وَإِذَا بِٱلْمَرْكَبَاتِ وَٱلْفُرْسَانِ يَشُدُّونَ وَرَاءَهُ.٦
7 and to turn after him and to see: see me and to call: call to to(wards) me and to say look! I
فَٱلْتَفَتَ إِلَى وَرَائِهِ فَرَآنِي وَدَعَانِي فَقُلْتُ: هَأَنَذَا.٧
8 and to say to/for me who? you(m. s.) (and to say *Q(K)*) to(wards) him Amalekite I
فَقَالَ لِي: مَنْ أَنْتَ؟ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ: عَمَالِيقِيٌّ أَنَا.٨
9 and to say to(wards) me to stand: stand please upon me and to die me for to grasp me [the] agony for all still soul: life my in/on/with me
فَقَالَ لِي: قِفْ عَلَيَّ وَٱقْتُلْنِي لِأَنَّهُ قَدِ ٱعْتَرَانِيَ ٱلدُّوَارُ، لِأَنَّ كُلَّ نَفْسِي بَعْدُ فِيَّ.٩
10 and to stand: stand upon him and to die him for to know for not to live after to fall: fall he and to take: take [the] consecration: crown which upon head his and armlet which upon arm his and to come (in): bring them to(wards) lord my here/thus
فَوَقَفْتُ عَلَيْهِ وَقَتَلْتُهُ لِأَنِّي عَلِمْتُ أَنَّهُ لَا يَعِيشُ بَعْدَ سُقُوطِهِ، وَأَخَذْتُ ٱلْإِكْلِيلَ ٱلَّذِي عَلَى رَأْسِهِ وَٱلسِّوارَ ٱلَّذِي عَلَى ذِرَاعِهِ وَأَتَيْتُ بِهِمَا إِلَى سَيِّدِي هَهُنَا».١٠
11 and to strengthen: hold David (in/on/with garment his *Q(K)*) and to tear them and also all [the] human which with him
فَأَمْسَكَ دَاوُدُ ثِيَابَهُ وَمَزَّقَهَا، وَكَذَا جَمِيعُ ٱلرِّجَالِ ٱلَّذِينَ مَعَهُ.١١
12 and to mourn and to weep and to fast till [the] evening upon Saul and upon Jonathan son: child his and upon people LORD and upon house: household Israel for to fall: fall in/on/with sword
وَنَدَبُوا وَبَكَوْا وَصَامُوا إِلَى ٱلْمَسَاءِ عَلَى شَاوُلَ وَعَلَى يُونَاثَانَ ٱبْنِهِ، وَعَلَى شَعْبِ ٱلرَّبِّ وَعَلَى بَيْتِ إِسْرَائِيلَ لِأَنَّهُمْ سَقَطُوا بِٱلسَّيْفِ.١٢
13 and to say David to(wards) [the] youth [the] to tell to/for him where? from this you(m. s.) and to say son: child man sojourner Amalekite I
ثُمَّ قَالَ دَاوُدُ لِلْغُلَامِ ٱلَّذِي أَخْبَرَهُ: «مِنْ أَيْنَ أَنْتَ؟» فَقَالَ: «أَنَا ٱبْنُ رَجُلٍ غَرِيبٍ، عَمَالِيقِيٍّ».١٣
14 and to say to(wards) him David how? not to fear to/for to send: reach hand: power your to/for to ruin [obj] anointed LORD
فَقَالَ لَهُ دَاوُدُ: «كَيْفَ لَمْ تَخَفْ أَنْ تَمُدَّ يَدَكَ لِتُهْلِكَ مَسِيحَ ٱلرَّبِّ؟».١٤
15 and to call: call to David to/for one from [the] youth and to say to approach: approach to fall on in/on/with him and to smite him and to die
ثُمَّ دَعَا دَاوُدُ وَاحِدًا مِنَ ٱلْغِلْمَانِ وَقَالَ: «تَقَدَّمْ. أَوْقِعْ بِهِ». فَضَرَبَهُ فَمَاتَ.١٥
16 and to say to(wards) him David (blood your *Q(K)*) upon head your for lip your to answer in/on/with you to/for to say I to die [obj] anointed LORD
فَقَالَ لَهُ دَاوُدُ: «دَمُكَ عَلَى رَأْسِكَ لِأَنَّ فَمَكَ شَهِدَ عَلَيْكَ قَائِلًا: أَنَا قَتَلْتُ مَسِيحَ ٱلرَّبِّ».١٦
17 and to chant David [obj] [the] dirge [the] this upon Saul and upon Jonathan son: child his
وَرَثَا دَاوُدُ بِهَذِهِ ٱلْمَرْثَاةِ شَاوُلَ وَيُونَاثَانَ ٱبْنَهُ،١٧
18 and to say to/for to learn: teach son: descendant/people Judah bow behold to write upon scroll: book [the] Jashar
وَقَالَ أَنْ يَتَعَلَّمَ بَنُو يَهُوذَا «نَشِيدَ ٱلْقَوْسِ». هُوَذَا ذَلِكَ مَكْتُوبٌ فِي سِفْرِ يَاشَرَ:١٨
19 [the] beauty Israel upon high place your slain: killed how? to fall: fall mighty man
«اَلظَّبْيُ يَا إِسْرَائِيلُ مَقْتُولٌ عَلَى شَوَامِخِكَ. كَيْفَ سَقَطَ ٱلْجَبَابِرَةُ!١٩
20 not to tell in/on/with Gath not to bear tidings in/on/with outside Ashkelon lest to rejoice daughter Philistine lest to exult daughter [the] uncircumcised
لَا تُخْبِرُوا فِي جَتَّ. لَا تُبَشِّرُوا فِي أَسْوَاقِ أَشْقَلُونَ، لِئَلَّا تَفْرَحَ بَنَاتُ ٱلْفِلِسْطِينِيِّينَ، لِئَلَّا تَشْمَتَ بَنَاتُ ٱلْغُلْفِ.٢٠
21 mountain: mount in/on/with Gilboa not dew and not rain upon you and land: country contribution for there to abhor shield mighty man shield Saul without anointed in/on/with oil
يَاجِبَالَ جِلْبُوعَ لَا يَكُنْ طَلٌّ وَلَا مَطَرٌ عَلَيْكُنَّ، وَلَا حُقُولُ تَقْدِمَاتٍ، لِأَنَّهُ هُنَاكَ طُرِحَ مِجَنُّ ٱلْجَبَابِرَةِ، مِجَنُّ شَاوُلَ بِلَا مَسْحٍ بِٱلدُّهْنِ.٢١
22 from blood slain: killed from fat mighty man bow Jonathan not to turn back back and sword Saul not to return: return emptily
مِنْ دَمِ ٱلْقَتْلَى، مِنْ شَحْمِ ٱلْجَبَابِرَةِ لَمْ تَرْجِعْ قَوْسُ يُونَاثَانَ إِلَى ٱلْوَرَاءِ، وَسَيْفُ شَاوُلَ لَمْ يَرْجِعْ خَائِبًا.٢٢
23 Saul and Jonathan [the] to love: lover and [the] pleasant in/on/with life their and in/on/with death their not to separate from eagle to lighten from lion to prevail
شَاوُلُ وَيُونَاثَانُ ٱلْمَحْبُوبَانِ وَٱلْحُلْوَانِ فِي حَيَاتِهِمَا لَمْ يَفْتَرِقَا فِي مَوْتِهِمَا. أَخَفُّ مِنَ ٱلنُّسُورِ وَأَشَدُّ مِنَ ٱلْأُسُودِ.٢٣
24 daughter Israel to(wards) Saul to weep [the] to clothe you scarlet with delicacy [the] to ascend: rise ornament gold upon clothing your
يَا بَنَاتِ إِسْرَائِيلَ، ٱبْكِينَ شَاوُلَ ٱلَّذِي أَلْبَسَكُنَّ قِرْمِزًا بِٱلتَّنَعُّمِ، وَجَعَلَ حُلِيَّ ٱلذَّهَبِ عَلَى مَلَابِسِكُنَّ.٢٤
25 how? to fall: fall mighty man in/on/with midst [the] battle Jonathan upon high place your slain: killed
كَيْفَ سَقَطَ ٱلْجَبَابِرَةُ فِي وَسَطِ ٱلْحَرْبِ! يُونَاثَانُ عَلَى شَوَامِخَكِ مَقْتُولٌ.٢٥
26 to constrain to/for me upon you brother: compatriot my Jonathan be pleasant to/for me much to wonder love your to/for me from love woman
قَدْ تَضَايَقْتُ عَلَيْكَ يَا أَخِي يُونَاثَانُ. كُنْتَ حُلْوًا لِي جِدًّا. مَحَبَّتُكَ لِي أَعْجَبُ مِنْ مَحَبَّةِ ٱلنِّسَاءِ.٢٦
27 how? to fall: fall mighty man and to perish article/utensil battle
كَيْفَ سَقَطَ ٱلْجَبَابِرَةُ وَبَادَتْ آلَاتُ ٱلْحَرْبِ!».٢٧
