2 Samuel 20
1 and there to encounter: chanced man Belial and name his Sheba son: child Bichri man [Ben]jaminite and to blow in/on/with trumpet and to say nothing to/for us portion in/on/with David and not inheritance to/for us in/on/with son: child Jesse man: anyone to/for tent his Israel
Nu bevond zich daar een Belialswicht, een zekere Sjéba, de zoon van Bikri, een Benjamiet. Hij stak de bazuin, en riep uit: Wij hebben niets te maken met David, Niets uit te staan met den zoon van Jesse: Iedereen naar zijn tenten, Israël!
2 and to ascend: rise all man Israel from after David after Sheba son: child Bichri and man Judah to cleave in/on/with king their from [the] Jordan and till Jerusalem
Nu trokken alle Israëlieten van David weg en volgden Sjéba, den zoon van Bikri; maar de Judeërs bleven hun koning volgen van de Jordaan af tot Jerusalem.
3 and to come (in): come David to(wards) house: home his Jerusalem and to take: take [the] king [obj] ten woman: wife concubine which to rest to/for to keep: guard [the] house: home and to give: put them house: home charge and to sustain them and to(wards) them not to come (in): come and to be to constrain till day to die they widowhood living
Toen David in zijn paleis te Jerusalem was teruggekeerd, liet de koning de tien bijvrouwen, die hij achtergelaten had, om het paleis te bewaken, in een huis van bewaring zetten; hij onderhield ze wel, maar had geen gemeenschap met haar, zodat ze tot haar dood als onbestorven weduwen bleven opgesloten.
4 and to say [the] king to(wards) Amasa to cry out to/for me [obj] man Judah three day and you(m. s.) here to stand: stand
Daarop sprak de koning tot Amasa: Roep de Judeërs bijeen; binnen drie dagen moet ge weer hier zijn!
5 and to go: went Amasa to/for to cry out [obj] Judah (and to delay *Q(K)*) from [the] meeting: time appointed which to appoint him
Amasa vertrok dus, om Juda bijeen te roepen. Maar toen hij langer dan de vastgestelde tijd uitbleef,
6 and to say David to(wards) Abishai now be evil to/for us Sheba son: child Bichri from Absalom you(m. s.) to take: take [obj] servant/slave lord your and to pursue after him lest to find to/for him city to gather/restrain/fortify and to rescue eye: before(the eyes) our
sprak David tot Abisjai: Nu zal Sjéba, de zoon van Bikri, ons nog gevaarlijker worden dan Absalom! Neem dus de eigen soldaten van uw heer en zet Sjéba achterna; anders verovert hij nog versterkte steden en ontsnapt hij ons.
7 and to come out: come after him human Joab and [the] Cherethite and [the] Pelethite and all [the] mighty man and to come out: come from Jerusalem to/for to pursue after Sheba son: child Bichri
Zo trokken onder het bevel van Amasa zowel Joab als de Kretenzen en Peletiërs en de hele keurbende uit, en verlieten Jerusalem, om Sjéba, den zoon van Bikri, te achtervolgen.

Toen ze bij de grote steen in Gibon waren gekomen, kwam Amasa hun tegemoet. Nu had Joab onder zijn gewaad een dolk gegord. Maar boven zijn gordel had Joab over zijn heup een zwaard gebonden, dat in de schede stak; en terwijl Joab dit eruit liet glijden, zodat het op de grond viel,
9 and to say Joab to/for Amasa peace: well-being you(m. s.) brother: compatriot my and to grasp hand right Joab in/on/with beard Amasa to/for to kiss to/for him
sprak hij tot Amasa: Gaat het u goed, mijn broeder? En met de rechterhand greep hij Amasa bij de baard, om hem te omhelzen.
10 and Amasa not to keep: look at in/on/with sword which in/on/with hand Joab and to smite him in/on/with her to(wards) [the] belly and to pour: pour belly his land: soil [to] and not to repeat to/for him and to die and Joab and Abishai brother: male-sibling his to pursue after Sheba son: child Bichri
Daar Amasa niet bedacht was op de dolk, die Joab in de linkerhand hield, stak deze hem er zo mee in de buik, dat zijn ingewanden uitpuilden tot over de grond, en hij zonder een tweede stoot dood was. Daarop zetten Joab en zijn broer Abisjai de achtervolging voort van Sjéba, den zoon van Bikri.
11 and man to stand: stand upon him from youth Joab and to say who? which to delight in in/on/with Joab and who? which to/for David after Joab
Een van Joabs soldaten ging bij Amasa staan, en riep: Al wie het houdt met Joab en David, volge Joab!
12 and Amasa to roll in/on/with blood in/on/with midst ([the] highway *LA(bh)*) and to see: see [the] man for to stand: stand all [the] people and to turn: turn [obj] Amasa from [the] highway [the] land: country and to throw upon him garment like/as as which to see: see all [the] to come (in): come upon him and to stand: stand
Maar daar Amasa badend in zijn bloed midden op de weg lag, bleef iedereen, die voorbij kwam, staan kijken. Toen de soldaat dus bemerkte, dat al het volk bleef stilstaan, sleepte hij Amasa van de weg af, de berm op, en wierp een kleed over hem heen.
13 like/as as which to thrust away from [the] highway to pass all man after Joab to/for to pursue after Sheba son: child Bichri
Zodra hij nu van de weg was verwijderd, trokken alle manschappen verder achter Joab aan, om Sjéba, den zoon van Bikri, te achtervolgen.
14 and to pass in/on/with all tribe Israel Abel-beth-maachah [to] and Abel-beth-maachah Abel-beth-maachah and all [the] Bichrites (and to gather *Q(K)*) and to come (in): come also after him
Deze had alle stammen van Israël doorkruist, maar men wilde niets van hem weten; zo kwam hij te Abel-Bet-Maäka, gevolgd door al de Bikrieten.
15 and to come (in): come and to confine upon him in/on/with Abel-beth-maachah [to] Abel-beth-maachah [the] Abel-beth-maachah and to pour: build siege mound mound to(wards) [the] city and to stand: stand in/on/with rampart and all [the] people: soldiers which with Joab to ruin to/for to fall: fall [the] wall
Maar de mannen van Joab kwamen hem in Abel-Bet-Maäka belegeren, wierpen een wal om de stad, en ondermijnden de muur, om hem te laten instorten.
16 and to call: call to woman wise from [the] city to hear: hear to hear: hear to say please to(wards) Joab to present: come till here/thus and to speak: speak to(wards) you
Toen ging een wijze vrouw uit de stad op de verschansing staan, en riep: Luistert, luistert! Zegt tegen Joab, dat hij hierheen komt; ik moet met hem spreken!
17 and to present: come to(wards) her and to say [the] woman you(m. s.) Joab and to say I and to say to/for him to hear: hear word maidservant your and to say to hear: hear I
Toen deze naderbij was gekomen, vroeg de vrouw: Zijt gij Joab? Hij antwoordde: Ja! Ze zeide tot hem: Luister dan naar uw dienstmaagd. Hij antwoordde: Ik luister.
18 and to say to/for to say to speak: speak to speak: speak in/on/with first: previous to/for to say to ask to ask in/on/with Abel and so to finish
Toen begon ze: Vroeger was men gewend te zeggen: Laat men in Abel en Dan gaan vragen, of er ooit afgeschaft wordt,
19 I to ally faithful Israel you(m. s.) to seek to/for to die city and mother in/on/with Israel to/for what? to swallow up inheritance LORD
wat de echte Israëlieten hebben vastgesteld. Wilt gij dus een stad vernietigen, die als een moederstad geldt in Israël? Waarom wilt ge het erfdeel van Jahweh vernielen?
20 and to answer Joab and to say forbid forbid to/for me if to swallow up and if to ruin
Joab antwoordde: Ik denk er niet aan, iets te vernietigen of te vernielen;
21 not so [the] word: thing for man from mountain: hill country Ephraim Sheba son: child Bichri name his to lift: fight hand his in/on/with king in/on/with David to give: give [obj] him to/for alone him and to go: went from upon [the] city and to say [the] woman to(wards) Joab behold head his to throw to(wards) you about/through/for [the] wall
dit is mijn bedoeling niet. Maar iemand uit het gebergte van Efraïm, Sjéba genaamd en zoon van Bikri, heeft zijn hand opgeheven tegen koning David. Hem alleen hebt ge uit te leveren; dan trek ik weg van de stad. Toen zeide de vrouw tot Joab: Wacht maar; zijn hoofd zal u over de muur worden toegeworpen.
22 and to come (in): come [the] woman to(wards) all [the] people in/on/with wisdom her and to cut: cut [obj] head Sheba son: child Bichri and to throw to(wards) Joab and to blow in/on/with trumpet and to scatter from upon [the] city man: anyone to/for tent: home his and Joab to return: return Jerusalem to(wards) [the] king
De vrouw keerde terug naar de stad, en wist met al haar slimheid de bevolking te overreden; ze sloegen Sjéba het hoofd af, en wierpen het Joab toe. Toen liet deze de trompet steken; en allen trokken weg van de stad naar hun woonplaats, en Joab keerde naar den koning in Jerusalem terug.
23 and Joab to(wards) all [the] army Israel and Benaiah son: child Jehoiada upon ([the] Cherethite *Q(K)*) and upon [the] Pelethite
Joab stond over heel de legermacht van Israël; Benaja, de zoon van Jehojada, over de Kretenzen en de Peletiërs;
24 and Adoram upon [the] taskworker and Jehoshaphat son: child Ahilud [the] to remember
Adoram over de herendiensten. Jehosjafat, de zoon van Achiloed was kanselier;
25 (and Sheva *Q(K)*) secretary and Zadok and Abiathar priest
Sjewa was schrijver, en Sadok en Ebjatar waren priesters.
26 and also Ira [the] Jairite to be priest to/for David
Ook Ira, de Jaïriet, was priester voor David.
