1 and to reckon: list David [obj] [the] people: soldiers which with him and to set: appoint upon them ruler thousand and ruler hundred

Dafidi sì fi ìdámẹ́ta àwọn ènìyàn náà lé Joabu lọ́wọ́, ó sì rán wọn lọ, àti ìdámẹ́ta lé Abiṣai ọmọ Seruiah àbúrò Joabu lọ́wọ́ àti ìdámẹ́ta lè Ittai ará Gitti lọ́wọ́, ọba sì wí fún àwọn ènìyàn náà pé, “Nítòótọ́ èmi tìkára mi yóò sì bá yín lọ pẹ̀lú.”
3 and to say [the] people: soldiers not to come out: come for if to flee to flee not to set: consider to(wards) us heart and if to die half our not to set: consider to(wards) us heart for now like us ten thousand and now pleasant for to be to/for us from city (to/for to help *Q(K)*)
Àwọn ènìyàn náà sì wí pé, “Ìwọ kì yóò bá wa lọ, nítorí pé bí àwa bá sá, wọn kì yóò náání wa, tàbí bí ó tilẹ̀ ṣe pé ìdajì wa kú, wọn kì yóò náání wa, nítorí pé ìwọ nìkan tó ẹgbẹ̀rún mẹ́wàá wa. Nítorí náà, ó sì dára kí ìwọ máa ràn wá lọ́wọ́ láti ìlú wá.”
4 and to say to(wards) them [the] king which be good in/on/with eye: appearance your to make: do and to stand: stand [the] king to(wards) hand: to [the] gate and all [the] people: soldiers to come out: come to/for hundred and to/for thousand
Ọba sì wí fún wọn pé, “Èyí tí ó bá tọ́ lójú yin ni èmi ó ṣe.” Ọba sì dúró ní apá kan ẹnu odi, gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn náà sì jáde ní ọ̀rọ̀ọ̀rún àti ní ẹgbẹẹgbẹ̀rún.
5 and to command [the] king [obj] Joab and [obj] Abishai and [obj] Ittai to/for to say to/for softly to/for me to/for youth to/for Absalom and all [the] people to hear: hear in/on/with to command [the] king [obj] all [the] ruler upon word: thing Absalom
Ọba sì pàṣẹ fún Joabu àti Abiṣai àti Ittai pé, “Ẹ tọ́jú ọ̀dọ́mọkùnrin náà Absalomu fún mi.” Gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn náà sì gbọ́ nígbà tí ọba pàṣẹ fún gbogbo àwọn balógun nítorí Absalomu.
6 and to come out: come [the] people: soldiers [the] land: country to/for to encounter: toward Israel and to be [the] battle in/on/with (Ephraim) Forest (Forest of) Ephraim
Àwọn ènìyàn náà sì jáde láti pàdé Israẹli ní pápá; ní igbó Efraimu ni wọ́n gbé pàdé ìjà náà.
7 and to strike there people: soldiers Israel to/for face: before servant/slave David and to be there [the] plague great: large in/on/with day [the] he/she/it twenty thousand

8 and to be there [the] battle (to scatter *Q(K)*) upon face: surface all [the] land: country/planet and to multiply [the] wood to/for to eat in/on/with people from whence to eat [the] sword in/on/with day [the] he/she/it

9 and to encounter: meet Absalom to/for face: before servant/slave David and Absalom to ride upon [the] mule and to come (in): come [the] mule underneath: under thicket [the] oak [the] great: large and to strengthen: hold head his in/on/with oak and to give: put between [the] heaven and between [the] land: country/planet and [the] mule which underneath: under him to pass
Absalomu sì pàdé àwọn ìránṣẹ́ Dafidi. Absalomu sì gun orí ìbáaka kan, ìbáaka náà sì gba abẹ́ ẹ̀ka ńlá igi óákù kan tí ó tóbi lọ, orí rẹ̀ sì kọ́ igi óákù náà òun sì rọ̀ sókè ní agbede-méjì ọ̀run àti ilẹ̀; ìbáaka náà tí ó wà lábẹ́ rẹ̀ sì lọ kúrò.
10 and to see: see man one and to tell to/for Joab and to say behold to see: see [obj] Absalom to hang in/on/with oak
Ọkùnrin kan sì rí i, ó sì wí fún Joabu pé, “Wò ó, èmi rí Absalomu so rọ̀ láàrín igi óákù kan.”
11 and to say Joab to/for man [the] to tell to/for him and behold to see: see and why? not to smite him there land: soil [to] and upon me to/for to give: give to/for you ten silver: money and belt one
Joabu sì wí fún ọkùnrin náà tí ó sọ fún un pé, “Sá wò ó, ìwọ rí i, èéha ti ṣe tí ìwọ kò fi lù ú bolẹ̀ níbẹ̀? Èmi ìbá sì fún ọ ní ṣékélì fàdákà mẹ́wàá, àti àmùrè kan.”
12 and to say [the] man to(wards) Joab (and if *Q(k)*) I to weigh upon palm my thousand silver: money not to send: reach hand my to(wards) son: child [the] king for in/on/with ear: hearing our to command [the] king [obj] you and [obj] Abishai and [obj] Ittai to/for to say to keep: guard who? in/on/with youth in/on/with Absalom

13 or to make: do (in/on/with soul: life my *Q(K)*) deception and all word: thing not to hide from [the] king and you(m. s.) to stand from before
Bí ó bá ṣe bẹ́ẹ̀ èmi ìbá ṣe sí ara mi, nítorí pé kò sí ọ̀ràn kan tí ó pamọ́ fún ọba, ìwọ tìkára rẹ̀ ìbá sì kọjú ìjà sí mi pẹ̀lú.”
14 and to say Joab not so to wait: wait to/for face of your and to take: take three tribe: javelin in/on/with palm his and to blow them in/on/with heart Absalom still he alive in/on/with heart [the] oak
Joabu sì wí pé, “Èmi kì yóò dúró bẹ́ẹ̀ níwájú rẹ.” Ó sì mú ọ̀kọ̀ mẹ́ta lọ́wọ́ rẹ̀, ó sì fi wọ́n gún Absalomu ní ọkàn, nígbà tí ó sì wà láààyè ní agbede-méjì igi óákù náà.
15 and to turn: surround ten youth to lift: bearing(armour) article/utensil Joab and to smite [obj] Absalom and to die him

16 and to blow Joab in/on/with trumpet and to return: return [the] people: soldiers from to pursue after Israel for to withhold Joab [obj] [the] people: soldiers
Joabu sì fun ìpè, àwọn ènìyàn náà sì yípadà láti máa lépa Israẹli, nítorí Joabu ti pe àwọn ènìyàn náà padà.
17 and to take: take [obj] Absalom and to throw [obj] him in/on/with wood to(wards) [the] pit [the] great: large and to stand upon him heap stone great: large much and all Israel to flee man: anyone (to/for tent: home his *Q(K)*)
Wọ́n sì gbé Absalomu, wọ́n sì sọ ọ́ sínú ihò ńlá kan ní igbó náà, wọ́n sì kó òkúta púpọ̀ jọ sí i lórí, gbogbo Israẹli sì sá, olúkúlùkù sí inú àgọ́ rẹ̀.
18 and Absalom to take: take and to stand to/for him (in/on/with life his *Q(K)*) [obj] pillar which in/on/with Valley (of Kings) [the] King's for to say nothing to/for me son: child in/on/with for the sake of to remember name my and to call: call by to/for pillar upon name his and to call: call by to/for her hand: themselves Absalom till [the] day: today [the] this
Absalomu ní ìgbà ayé rẹ̀, sì mọ ọ̀wọ́n kan fún ara rẹ̀, tí ń bẹ ní àfonífojì Ọba: nítorí tí ó wí pé, “Èmi kò ní ọmọkùnrin tí yóò pa orúkọ mi mọ́ ní ìrántí,” òun sì pe ọ̀wọ́n náà nípa orúkọ rẹ̀, a sì ń pè é títí di òní, ní ọ̀wọ́n Absalomu.
19 and Ahimaaz son: child Zadok to say to run: run please and to bear tidings [obj] [the] king for to judge him LORD from hand: power enemy his
Ahimasi ọmọ Sadoku sì wí pé, “Jẹ́ kí èmi ó súré nísinsin yìí, kí èmi sì mú ìròyìn tọ ọba lọ, bí Olúwa ti gbẹ̀san rẹ̀ lára àwọn ọ̀tá rẹ̀.”
20 and to say to/for him Joab not man good news you(m. s.) [the] day [the] this and to bear tidings in/on/with day another and [the] day [the] this not to bear tidings for as that: since (as as *Q(K)*) son: child [the] king to die
Joabu sì wí fún un pé, “Ìwọ kì yóò mù ìròyìn lọ lónìí, ṣùgbọ́n ìwọ ó mú lọ ní ọjọ́ mìíràn, ṣùgbọ́n lónìí yìí ìwọ kì yóò mú ìròyìn kan lọ, nítorí tí ọmọ ọba ṣe aláìsí.”
21 and to say Joab to/for Ethiopian to go: went to tell to/for king which to see: see and to bow Ethiopian to/for Joab and to run: run
Joabu sì wí fún Kuṣi pé, “Lọ, kí ìwọ ro ohun tí ìwọ rí fún ọba.” Kuṣi sì wólẹ̀ fún Joabu ó sì sáré.
22 and to add: again still Ahimaaz son: child Zadok and to say to(wards) Joab and to be what? to run: run please also I after [the] Ethiopian and to say Joab to/for what? this you(m. s.) to run: run son: child my and to/for you nothing good news to find
Ahimasi ọmọ Sadoku sì tún wí fún Joabu pé, “Jọ̀wọ́, bí ó ti wù kí ó rí, èmi ó sáré tọ Kuṣi lẹ́yìn.” Joabu sì bi í pé, “Nítorí kín ni ìwọ ó ṣe sáré, ọmọ mi, ìwọ kò ri pé kò sí ìròyìn rere kan tí ìwọ ó mú lọ.”
23 and to be what? to run: run and to say to/for him to run: run and to run: run Ahimaaz way: road [the] talent and to pass [obj] [the] Ethiopian

25 and to call: call out [the] to watch and to tell to/for king and to say [the] king if to/for alone him good news in/on/with lip his and to go: come to go: come and approaching
Alóre náà sì kígbe, ó sì wí fún ọba. Ọba sì wí pé, “Bí ó bá ṣe òun nìkan ni, ìròyìn rere ń bẹ lẹ́nu rẹ̀.” Òun sì ń súnmọ́ tòsí.
26 and to see: see [the] to watch man another to run: run and to call: call to [the] to watch to(wards) [the] gatekeeper and to say behold man to run: run to/for alone him and to say [the] king also this to bear tidings
Alóre náà sì rí ọkùnrin mìíràn tí ń sáré, alóre sì kọ sí ẹni tí ń ṣọ́ bodè, ó sì wí pe, “Wò ó, ọkùnrin kan ń sáré òun nìkan.” Ọba sì wí pé, “Èyí náà pẹ̀lú ń mú ìròyìn rere wá.”
27 and to say [the] to watch I to see: examine [obj] running [the] first like/as running Ahimaaz son: child Zadok and to say [the] king man pleasant this and to(wards) good news pleasant to come (in): come
Alóre náà sì wí pé, “Èmi wo ìsáré ẹni tí ó wà níwájú ó dàbí ìsáré Ahimasi ọmọ Sadoku.” Ọba sì wí pé, “Ènìyàn re ni, ó sì ń mú ìyìnrere wá!”
28 and to call: call out Ahimaaz and to say to(wards) [the] king peace: well-being and to bow to/for king to/for face his land: soil [to] and to say to bless LORD God your which to shut [obj] [the] human which to lift: kindness [obj] hand their in/on/with lord my [the] king
Ahimasi sì dé, ó sì wí fún ọba pé, “Àlàáfíà!” Ó sì wólẹ̀ fún ọba, ó dojúbolẹ̀ ó sì wí pé, “Alábùkún fún ni Olúwa Ọlọ́run rẹ, ẹni tí ó fi àwọn ọkùnrin tí ó gbé ọwọ́ wọn sókè sí olúwa mi ọba lé ọ lọ́wọ́.”
29 and to say [the] king peace: well-being to/for youth to/for Absalom and to say Ahimaaz to see: see [the] crowd [the] great: large to/for to send: depart [obj] servant/slave [the] king Joab and [obj] servant/slave your and not to know what?
Ọba sì béèrè pé, “Àlàáfíà ha wà fún Absalomu, ọmọdékùnrin náà bí?” Ahimasi sì dáhùn pé, “Nígbà tí Joabu rán ìránṣẹ́ ọba, àti èmi ìránṣẹ́ rẹ̀, mo rí ọ̀pọ̀ ènìyàn, ṣùgbọ́n èmi kò mọ ìdí rẹ̀.”
30 and to say [the] king to turn: turn to stand thus and to turn: turn and to stand: stand
Ọba sì wí fún un pé, “Yípadà kí o sì dúró níhìn-ín.” Òun sì yípadà, ó sì dúró jẹ́ẹ́.
31 and behold [the] Ethiopian to come (in): come and to say [the] Ethiopian to bear tidings lord my [the] king for to judge you LORD [the] day from hand: power all [the] to arise: attack upon you
Sì wò ó, Kuṣi sì wí pé, “Ìyìnrere fún olúwa mi ọba, nítorí tí Olúwa ti gbẹ̀san rẹ lónìí lára gbogbo àwọn tí ó dìde sí ọ.”
32 and to say [the] king to(wards) [the] Ethiopian peace: well-being to/for youth to/for Absalom and to say [the] Ethiopian to be like/as youth enemy lord my [the] king and all which to arise: attack upon you to/for distress: evil
Ọba sì bi Kuṣi pé, “Àlàáfíà kọ́ Absalomu ọ̀dọ́mọdékùnrin náà wá bí?” Kuṣi sì dáhùn pe, “Kí àwọn ọ̀tá olúwa mi ọba, àti gbogbo àwọn tí ó dìde sí ọ ní ibi, rí bí ọ̀dọ́mọdékùnrin náà.”
33 and to tremble [the] king and to ascend: rise upon upper room [the] gate and to weep and thus to say in/on/with to go: went he son: child my Absalom son: child my son: child my Absalom who? to give: if only! to die I I underneath: instead you Absalom son: child my son: child my
Ọba sì kẹ́dùn púpọ̀ ó sì gòkè lọ, sí yàrá tí ó wà lórí òkè ibodè, ó sì sọkún; báyìí ni ó sì ń wí bí ó ti ń lọ, “Ọmọ mi Absalomu! Ọmọ mi, ọmọ mí Absalomu! Á à! Ìbá ṣe pé èmi ni ó kú ní ipò rẹ̀! Absalomu ọmọ mi, ọmọ mi!”
