आहाबको मृत्युपछि मोआब इस्राएलको विरुद्धमा बागी भयो ।

तब अहज्याह सामरियामा माथिल्लो कोठाको झ्यालबाट तल खसे र घाइते भए । यसैले तिनले सन्देशवाहकहरू पठाए र तिनीहरूलाई भने, “जाओ र यस चोटबाट म निको हुन्छु कि हुन्न एक्रोनको देवता बाल-जिबबलाई सोध ।”

तर परमप्रभुका दूतले तिश्बी एलियालाई भने, “उठ, र सामरियाका राजाका सन्देशवाहकहरूलाई भेट्न जाऊ, अनि तिनीहरूलाई सोध, 'के इस्राएलमा कुनै परमेश्वर नभएको हुनाले तिमीहरू एक्रोनको देवता बाल-जिबबसित सल्लाह लिन जाँदैछौ?
4 and to/for so thus to say LORD [the] bed which to ascend: rise there not to go down from her for to die to die and to go: went Elijah
त्यसकारण परमप्रभु भन्नुहुन्छ, “तँ उक्लेको त्यो माथिको ओछ्यानबाट तँ तल आउनेछैनस् । बरु, तँ निश्चय नै मर्नेछस्' ।” तब एलिया गए ।

जब सन्देशवाहकहरू अहज्याहकहाँ फर्के तब तिनले तिनीहरूलाई सोधे, “तिमीहरू किन फर्केका छौ?”
6 and to say to(wards) him man to ascend: rise to/for to encounter: meet us and to say to(wards) us to go: went to return: return to(wards) [the] king which to send: depart [obj] you and to speak: speak to(wards) him thus to say LORD from without nothing God in/on/with Israel you(m. s.) to send: depart to/for to seek in/on/with Baal-zebub Baal-zebub God Ekron to/for so [the] bed which to ascend: rise there not to go down from her for to die to die
तिनीहरूले तिनलाई भने, “एक जना मानिस हामीलाई भेट्न आए जसले हामीलाई भने, 'तिमीहरूलाई पठाउने राजाकहाँ फर्के जाऊ र तिनलाई भन, “परमप्रभु यसो भन्नुहुन्छः 'के इस्राएलमा कुनै परमेश्वर नभएको हुनाले तिमीहरू एक्रोनको देवता बाल-जिबबसित सल्लाह लिन जाँदैछौ? त्यसकारण तँ उक्लेको त्यो माथिको ओछ्यानबाट तँ तल आउनेछैनस् । बरु, तँ निश्चय नै मर्नेछस्' ।”

अहज्याहले आफ्ना सन्देशवाहकहरूलाई भने, “तिमीहरूलाई भेट्न आउने र यी कुराहरू भन्ने मानिस कस्तो किसिमको थियो?”

तिनीहरूले तिनलाई जवाफ दिए, “तिनले रौँका लुगा लगाएका थिए, र आफ्नो कम्मरमा छालाको पेटी बाँधेका थिए ।” त्यसैले राजाले भने, “तिनी त तिश्बी एलिया हुन् ।”

तब राजाले पचास जना सिपाहीसँगै एक जना कप्तानलाई एलियाकहाँ पठाए । कप्तान एलियाकहाँ गए जहाँ तिनी डाँडाको टाकुरामा बसिरहेका थिए । कप्तानले तिनलाई भने, “हे परमेश्वरका मानिस, राजाले भन्नुभएको छ, 'तल आउनुहोस्' ।”

एलियाले कप्तानलाई भने, “म परमेश्वरका मानिस हुँ भने स्वर्गबाट आगो झरोस् र तपाईं र तपाईंका पचास जना मानिसलाई भस्म पारोस् ।” तब स्वर्गबाट आगो झर्यो र तिनलाई र तिनका पचास जना मानिसलाई भस्म पार्यो ।
11 and to return: again and to send: depart to(wards) him ruler fifty another and fifty his and to answer and to speak: speak to(wards) him man [the] God thus to say [the] king haste to go down [emph?]
फेरि राजा अहज्याहले अर्का कप्तानलाई पचास जना सिपाहीसहित एलियाकहाँ पठाए । यी कप्तानले पनि एलियालाई भने, “हे परमेश्वरका मानिस, राजा भन्नुहुन्छ, 'झट्टै तल आउनुहोस्' ।”

एलियाले तिनीहरूलाई भने, “म परमेश्वरका मानिस हुँ भने स्वर्गबाट आगो झरोस् र तपाईं र तपाईंका पचास जना मानिसलाई भस्म पारोस् ।” फेरि स्वर्गबाट परमेश्वरको आगो झर्यो र तिनलाई र तिनका पचास जना मानिसलाई भस्म पार्यो ।

तथापि राजाले पचास जना योद्धाको तेस्रो समूह पठाए । यो कप्तान माथि उक्ले, एलियाको सामु आफ्ना घुँडा टेके र तिनले विनम्रतापूर्वक बिन्ती गरेर भने, “हे परमेश्वरका मानिस, म तपाईंसँग बिन्ति गर्छु, कि मेरो जीवन र तपाईंका यी पचास जना दासका जीवन तपाईंको दृष्टिमा मूल्यवान् होऊन् ।

वास्तवमा स्वर्गबाट आगो झर्यो र यस अघिका दुई जना कप्तानलाई तिनीहरूका मानिसहरूसँगै भस्म पार्यो, तर मेरो जीवन तपाईंको दृष्टिमा मूल्यवान् होस् ।”
15 and to speak: speak messenger: angel LORD to(wards) Elijah to go down with him not to fear from face of his and to arise: rise and to go down with him to(wards) [the] king
परमप्रभुका दूतले एलियालाई भने, “त्योसँगै तल जा । त्योदेखि नडरा ।” त्यसैले एलिया उठे र त्योसँगै राजाकहाँ गए ।
16 and to speak: speak to(wards) him thus to say LORD because which to send: depart messenger to/for to seek in/on/with Baal-zebub Baal-zebub God Ekron from without nothing God in/on/with Israel to/for to seek in/on/with word his to/for so [the] bed which to ascend: rise there not to go down from her for to die to die
पछि एलियाले अहज्याहलाई भने, “परमप्रभु यसो भन्नुहुन्छ, 'तैँले एक्रोनको देवता बाल-जिबबसित सल्लाह लिन सन्देशवाहकहरू पठाएको छस् । जानकारी लिनको लागि इस्राएलमा कुनै परमेश्वर नभएको हुनाले त्यसो गरेको हो? यसैले तँ उक्लेको त्यो माथिको ओछ्यानबाट तँ तल आउनेछैनस् । तँ निश्चय नै मर्नेछस्' ।”

यसरी एलियाले बोलेको परमप्रभुको वचनअनुसार अहज्याह मरे । अहज्याहको कुनै छोरो नभएको हुनाले यहूदाका राजा यहोशापातका छोरा यहोरामको दोस्रो वर्षमा योरामले तिनको ठाउँमा राज्य गर्न थाले ।

अहज्याहका सम्बन्धमा भएका अरू कुराहरूका बारेमा इस्राएलका राजाहरूको इतिहासको पुस्तकमा लेखिएका छैनन् र?
