യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവെക്കു വിരോധമായി കൊള്ളരുതാത്ത കാര്യങ്ങളെ രഹസ്യമായി ചെയ്തു കാവല്ക്കാരുടെ ഗോപുരംമുതൽ ഉറപ്പുള്ള പട്ടണംവരെ തങ്ങളുടെ എല്ലാപട്ടണങ്ങളിലും പൂജാഗിരികൾ പണിതു.

എന്നാൽ യഹോവ സകലപ്രവാചകന്മാരും ദർശകന്മാരും മുഖാന്തരം യിസ്രായേലിനോടും യെഹൂദയോടും: നിങ്ങളുടെ ദുർമ്മാർഗ്ഗങ്ങളെ വിട്ടു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു കല്പിച്ചതും എന്റെ ദാസന്മാരായ പ്രവാചകന്മാർമുഖാന്തരം നിങ്ങൾക്കു അയച്ചുതന്നതുമായ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന്നൊത്തവണ്ണമൊക്കെയും എന്റെ കല്പനകളും ചട്ടങ്ങളും പ്രമാണിച്ചുനടപ്പിൻ എന്നു സാക്ഷീകരിച്ചു.

എങ്കിലും അവർ കേൾക്കാതെ തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കാതിരുന്ന പിതാക്കന്മാരെപ്പോലെ ദുശ്ശാഠ്യം കാണിച്ചു,
15 and to reject [obj] statute: decree his and [obj] covenant his which to cut: make(covenant) with father their and [obj] testimony his which to testify in/on/with them and to go: follow after [the] vanity and to become vain and after [the] nation which around them which to command LORD [obj] them to/for lest to make: do like/as them
അവന്റെ ചട്ടങ്ങളെയും അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു അവൻ ചെയ്ത നിയമത്തെയും അവൻ അവരോടു സാക്ഷീകരിച്ച സാക്ഷ്യങ്ങളെയും നിരസിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു; അവർ വ്യാജത്തെ പിന്തുടർന്നു വ്യർത്ഥന്മാരായിത്തീർന്നു; അവരെപ്പോലെ ആചരിക്കരുതു എന്നു യഹോവ കല്പിച്ചിരുന്ന ചുറ്റുമുള്ള ജാതികളെ തന്നേ അവർ പിന്തുടർന്നു.

അതുനിമിത്തം യഹോവ യിസ്രായേലിനോടു ഏറ്റവും കോപിച്ചു അവരെ തന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽനിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു; യെഹൂദാഗോത്രം മാത്രമല്ലാതെ ആരും ശേഷിച്ചില്ല.

യെഹൂദയും തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ കല്പനകളെ പ്രമാണിക്കാതെ യിസ്രായേൽ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ ചട്ടങ്ങളെ അനുസരിച്ചുനടന്നു.

ആകയാൽ യഹോവ യിസ്രായേൽസന്തതിയെ മുഴുവനും തള്ളി അവരെ താഴ്ത്തി, കൊള്ളയിടുന്നവരുടെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചു, ഒടുവിൽ അവരെ തന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽനിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

യഹോവ അവരോടു ഒരു നിയമം ചെയ്തു കല്പിച്ചതു എന്തെന്നാൽ: നിങ്ങൾ അന്യദൈവങ്ങളെ ഭജിക്കയും അവെക്കു യാഗം കഴിക്കയും ചെയ്യാതെ

നിങ്ങളെ മഹാശക്തികൊണ്ടും നീട്ടിയ ഭുജംകൊണ്ടും മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന യഹോവയെ മാത്രം ഭജിക്കയും അവനെ മാത്രം നമസ്കരിക്കയും അവന്നു മാത്രം യാഗം കഴിക്കയും വേണം.

അവൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു എഴുതിത്തന്ന ചട്ടങ്ങളെയും ന്യായങ്ങളെയും ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെയും കല്പനയെയും നിങ്ങൾ എല്ലാനാളും പ്രമാണിച്ചുനടക്കേണം; അന്യദൈവങ്ങളെ ഭജിക്കരുതു.

ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു ചെയ്ത നിയമം നിങ്ങൾ മറക്കരുതു; അന്യദൈവങ്ങളെ ഭജിക്കയുമരുതു.

നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ മാത്രം നിങ്ങൾ ഭജിക്കേണം; എന്നാൽ അവൻ നിങ്ങളെ നിങ്ങളുടെ സകലശത്രുക്കളുടെയും കയ്യിൽനിന്നു വിടുവിക്കും.

എങ്കിലും അവർ കേൾക്കാതെ തങ്ങളുടെ പണ്ടത്തെ മര്യാദ അനുസരിച്ചുനടന്നു.
41 and to be [the] nation [the] these afraid [obj] LORD and [obj] idol their to be to serve: minister also son: child their and son: child son: child their like/as as which to make: do father their they(masc.) to make: do till [the] day: today [the] this
അങ്ങനെ ഈ ജാതികൾ യഹോവയെ ഭജിക്കയും തങ്ങളുടെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ സേവിക്കയും ചെയ്തു; പിതാക്കന്മാർ ചെയ്തതുപോലെ പുത്രന്മാരും പൗത്രന്മാരും ഇന്നുവരെ ചെയ്തുവരുന്നു.
