৪যদিও উপাসনার উঁচু স্থানগুলো ধ্বংস করা হয়নি; তখনো লোকেরা সেখানে বলিদান করত এবং ধূপ জ্বালাত।

৫পরে সদাপ্রভু রাজাকে আঘাত করলেন ফলে তিনি মৃত্যু পর্যন্ত কুষ্ঠরোগে ভুগেছিলেন এবং তিনি আলাদা গৃহে বাস করতেন। রাজার ছেলে যোথম রাজবাড়ীর কর্তা হলেন এবং দেশের লোকদের শাসন করতে লাগলেন।

৭পরে অসরিয় তাঁর পূর্বপুরুষদের সঙ্গে নিদ্রায় গেলেন এবং তাঁকে দায়ূদের শহরে তাঁর পূর্বপুরুষদের সঙ্গে কবর দেওয়া হল। তাঁর জায়গায় তাঁর ছেলে যোথম রাজা হলেন।

৮যিহূদার রাজা অসরিয়ের আটত্রিশ বছরে দিন কালে যারবিয়ামের ছেলে সখরিয় শমরিয়াতে ইস্রায়েলের উপর ছয় মাস রাজত্ব করেছিলেন।

৯তিনি তাঁর পূর্বপুরুষদের মতই সদাপ্রভুর চোখে যা মন্দ তাই করতেন। নবাটের ছেলে যারবিয়াম ইস্রায়েলকে দিয়ে যে সব পাপ করিয়েছিলেন তিনি তাঁর সেই সমস্ত পাপ ত্যাগ করলেন না।

১০যাবেশের ছেলে শল্লুম সখরিয়ের বিরুদ্ধে ষড়যন্ত্র করলেন ও লোকদের সামনেই তাঁকে আক্রমণ করে হত্যা করলেন এবং তাঁর জায়গায় তিনি রাজা হলেন।

১৬তখন মনহেম তির্সা থেকে বের হয়ে তিপ্সহ এবং সেখানকার সব বাসিন্দা ও তার আশেপাশের এলাকার সবাইকে আক্রমণ করলেন, কারণ তারা তাদের শহরের ফটক খুলে দিতে রাজি হয়নি। সেইজন্য তিনি তিপ্সহ আঘাত করলেন এবং সমস্ত গর্ভবতী স্ত্রীলোকদের পেট চিরে দিলেন।

২৫রমলিয়ের ছেলে পেকহ নামে তাঁর একজন সেনাপতি পকহিয়ের বিরুদ্ধে ষড়যন্ত্র করলেন। পেকহ গিলিয়দের পঞ্চাশজন লোককে সঙ্গে নিয়ে শমরিয়ার রাজবাড়ীর দুর্গে পকহিয় এবং তাঁর সঙ্গে অর্গোব ও অরিয়িকে হত্যা করলেন। তিনি তাঁকে হত্যা করে তাঁর জায়গায় রাজা হলেন।

২৭যিহূদার রাজা অসরিয়ের রাজত্বের বাহান্ন বছরের দিনের রমলিয়ের ছেলে পেকহ শমরিয়াতে ইস্রায়েলের উপর রাজত্ব করতে শুরু করলেন। তিনি কুড়ি বছর রাজত্ব করেছিলেন।

২৯ইস্রায়েলের রাজা পেকহের দিনের অশূর রাজা তিগ্লৎ পিলেষর আসলেন এবং ইয়োন, আবেলবৈৎমাখা, যানোহ, কেদশ, হাৎসোর, গিলিয়দ, গালীল ও নপ্তালির সমস্ত জায়গা দখল করলেন। আর সেখান থেকে তিনি সমস্ত লোকদের বন্দী করে অশূরে নিয়ে গেলেন।

৩৫উঁচু স্থানগুলিকে তখনও ধ্বংস করা হয়নি। লোকেরা তখনও সেই উঁচুঁ জায়গায় বলিদান করত ও ধূপ জ্বালাত। যোথম সদাপ্রভুর গৃহে উঁচু দরজা তৈরী করেছিলেন।
