၁ဗင်္ယာမိန် အမျိုးသားအာဖိ ၊ ဗေခေါရတ် ၊ ဇေရော် ၊ အဗျေလ မှ ဆင်းသက်၍ ကိရှ အမည် ရှိသောဗင်္ယာမိန် အမျိုးသား တယောက်ရှိ ၏။ သူသည်အလွန် ခွန်အား ကြီးသောသူဖြစ်၏။

၂ထိုသူ ၌ ရှောလု အမည် ရှိသောသား တယောက်ရှိ ၏။ ထိုသားသည် အဆင်း လှ၍ ထူးဆန်းသောသူဖြစ် ၏။ ဣသရေလ အမျိုးသား တို့တွင် ထိုသူ ထက် သာ၍အဆင်းလှသော သူတယောက်မျှမ ရှိ။ သူသည် အခြား သောသူထက် ပခုံး အထက် မှာ အရပ်သာ၍မြင့် ၏။

၄သူတို့သည် ဧဖရိမ် တောင် အရပ်နှင့် ရှလိရှ အရပ် တရှောက်လုံး၌ ရှာ ၍ မ တွေ့လျှင် ၊ တဖန် ရှာလိမ် အရပ် မှသည် ဗင်္ယာမိန် အရပ် များ တရှောက်လုံး၌ မ တွေ့။

၆ငယ်သားက၊ ဤ မြို့ ၌ အသရေ ထင်ရှားသော ဘုရား သခင်၏ လူ တယောက်ရှိ၏။ သူပြော သမျှ သော စကားသည် ဧကန်အမှန်ပြည့်စုံ တတ်၏။ သူ့ထံသို့သွား ကြစို့။ ငါ တို့ သွား ရသော လမ်း ကို သူပြ ကောင်း ပြလိမ့်မည်ဟု ဆို ၏။

၇ရှောလု ကလည်း ၊ သွား လျှင် အဘယ် အရာကို လှူ ရမည်နည်း။ ငါ တို့၌ပါသောမုန့် ကုန် ပြီ။ ဘုရား သခင် ၏ လူ ကို လှူ စရာ အလှူ တစုံတခုမျှ မရှိ။ ငါ တို့၌ တစုံတခုရှိသေးသလောဟုငယ်သား အား မေး သော်၊

၈ငယ်သား က၊ ကျွန်တော် လက် ၌ ငွေ တမတ် ရှိ ပါ၏။ ငါ တို့ကို လမ်း ပြ သည်အတွက် ဘုရား သခင်၏ လူ အား ပေး ပါမည်ဟု ရှောလု အား ပြန်ပြော ၏။

၉ရှေး ကာလ၌ ဣသရေလ အမျိုးသားတို့သည် ဘုရား သခင်ကို မေးမြန်း ခြင်းငှါ သွား မည်ဟု အကြံရှိလျှင်၊ မြင် သောသူထံသို့ သွား ကြစို့ဟု ဆိုတတ်ကြ၏။ ပရောဖက် ဟူ၍ခေါ်ဝေါ်သောသူကို ရှေး ကာလ၌ မြင် သောသူဟူ၍ ခေါ်ဝေါ် ကြသတည်း။

၁၀ရှောလု ကလည်း၊ ကောင်း ပြီသွား ကြစို့ဟု ငယ်သား အား ဆို လျက် ၊ ဘုရား သခင်၏ လူ ရှိရာမြို့ သို့ သွား ကြ၏။

၁၁မြို့ ပြင်ကုန်း ပေါ် သို့ ရောက် သောအခါ ၊ ရေ ခပ် လာ သောမိန်းမပျို တို့ကို တွေ့ ၍ ၊ ဤ အရပ်၌ မြင် သောသူ ရှိ သလောဟု မေး သော်၊

၁၂ရှိ ပါ၏။ သင် တို့ရှေ့ မှာ ရှိပါ၏။ အလျင်အမြန် သွားတော့။ မြင်သောသူသည် ဤမြို့ သို့ ယနေ့ လာ ပြီ။ လူ များ တို့သည် မြင့် သောအရပ်၌ ယနေ့ ယဇ် ပွဲကို ဆောင်ကြ၏။

၁၃ဆရာသည် မြင့် သောအရပ်၌ ယဇ်သားကို စား အံ့သောငှါ မ တက် မှီ သင် တို့သည် မြို့ ထဲသို့ဝင် လျှင် ချက်ခြင်းတွေ့ လိမ့်မည်။ သူ မ ရောက် မှီ လူ များတို့သည် မ စား တတ်ကြ။ သူသည် ယဇ် ပွဲ၌ ဘုရားဝတ်ကို ပြုတတ်၏။ ဝတ်ပြုပြီးမှ ခေါ်ဘိတ် သောသူတို့ သည် စား တတ်ကြ၏။ ယခု မှာ သွား လျှင် တွေ့ ကြ လိမ့်မည်ဟု ပြန်ပြော သည်နှင့်အညီ၊

၁၅ရှောလု မ ရောက် မှီ မနေ့၌ ထာဝရဘုရား က၊ နက်ဖြန် နေ့၊

၁၆ဤအချိန်၌ ဗင်္ယာမိန် ပြည် မှ လူ တယောက်ကို သင် ရှိရာသို့ ငါစေလွှတ် မည်။ သင်သည် ထိုသူကို ငါ ၏လူ ဣသရေလ အမျိုး၏ မင်း အရာ၌ ခန့်ထား၍ ဆီလောင်းခြင်းဘိသိက် ကိုပေး ရမည်။ သူသည် ငါ ၏ လူ တို့ကို ဖိလိတ္တိ လူတို့လက် မှ ကယ်တင် ရလိမ့်မည်။ ငါသည် သူတို့အော်ဟစ်သံကိုကြား၍၊ သူတို့ကို ကြည့်ရှု သည်ဟု ရှမွေလနားအပါး၌ မိန့်တော်မူနှင့်ပြီ။

၁၇ရှမွေလ သည် ရှောလု ကို မြင် သောအခါ ၊ ထာဝရဘုရား က၊ ငါပြော သော သူ ကို ကြည့် လော့၊ ဤ သူသည် ငါ ၏ လူ တို့ကို အုပ်ချုပ် ရလိမ့်မည်ဟု မိန့် တော်မူ၏။

၁၈ထိုအခါ ရှောလု သည် ရှမွေလ ရှိရာ တံခါးဝ သို့ ချဉ်းကပ် လျှင်၊ မြင် သောသူ၏အိမ် ကို ပြပါလော့ဟု တောင်းပန် သော်၊

၁၉ရှမွေလ က၊ ငါ သည် မြင် သောသူဖြစ် ၏။ ငါ့ ရှေ့ မှာ မြင့် သောအရပ်သို့ တက် သွားလော့။ ယနေ့ ငါ နှင့်အတူ စား ရမည်။ နက်ဖြန် နေ့ ငါလွှတ် လိုက်မည်။ သင့် စိတ် နှလုံးထဲမှာ ရှိသမျှ ကိုလည်း ငါဘော်ပြ မည်။

၂၂ထိုအခါ ရှမွေလ သည် ရှောလု နှင့် သူ ၏ငယ်သား ကိုခေါ် ၍ အိမ်ခန်း ထဲသို့ သွင်း ပြီးလျှင် ၊ ခေါ်ဘိတ် သောသူ သုံး ဆယ်တို့တွင် အမြတ်ဆုံး သော အရပ် ၌ ထိုင်စေ၏။

၂၄ပွဲသူကြီး သည် ပခုံး နှင့် ပခုံးပေါ် မှာ ခင်းသောအရာကိုယူ ၍ ရှောလု ရှေ့ မှာထား လေ၏။ ရှမွေလက လည်း၊ ချန် ထားသောအရာကို ယူ၍ စား တော့။ ခေါ်ဘိတ် သောသူတို့ အား ပြောနှင့်သည်အတိုင်း သင့် အဘို့ ယခုတိုင်အောင်သိုထား လျက်ရှိပြီဟု ဆို ၍ ထို နေ့၌ ရှောလု သည် ရှမွေလ နှင့်အတူ စား သောက် လေ၏။

၂၅ထိုသူတို့သည် မြင့် သောအရပ်မှ ဆင်း ၍ မြို့ ထဲသို့ဝင်ပြီးလျှင် ၊ ရှမွေလနှင့်ရှောလု တို့သည် အိမ်မိုး ပေါ် မှာ စကားပြော လျက် နေကြ၏။

၂၆နံနက်စောစောထ ၍ မိုဃ်းလင်း သောအခါ ၊ ရှမွေလ က၊ ထ လော့။ သင့် ကို ငါလွှတ် လိုက်မည်ဟု ရှောလု ကို အိမ်မိုး ပေါ် မှာ ခေါ် ပြီးလျှင် ၊ ရှောလု သည် ထ ၍ ထိုသူ နှစ် ယောက်တို့သည် ထွက်သွား ကြ၏။
