1 Samuel 6

Efter at HERREN Ark havde været i Filisternes Land syv Måneder,
2 and to call: call to Philistine to/for priest and to/for to divine to/for to say what? to make: do to/for ark LORD to know us in/on/with what? to send: depart him to/for place his
lod Filisterne Præsterne og Sandsigerne kalde og sagde: "Hvad skal vi gøre med HERRENs Ark? Lad os få at vide, hvorledes vi skal bære os ad, når vi sender den hen, hvor den har hjemme!"

De svarede: "Når I sender Israels Guds Ark tilbage, må I ikke sende den bort uden Gave; men I skal give den en Sonegave med tilbage; så bliver I raske og skal få at vide, hvorfor hans Hånd ikke vil vige fra eder!"

I skal eftergøre eders Bylder og Musene, som hærger eders Land, og således give Israels Gud Æren; måske vil han da tage sin Hånd bort fra eder, eders Gud og eders Land.

Hvorfor vil I forhærde eders Hjerte, som Ægypterne og Farao forhærdede deres Hjerte? Da han viste dem sin Magt, måtte de da ikke lade dem rejse, så de kunde drage af Sted?

tag så HERRENs Ark og sæt den på Vognen, læg de Guldting, I giver den med i Sonegave, i et Skrin ved Siden af og send den så af Sted.
9 and to see: see if way: road border: area his to ascend: rise Beth-shemesh Beth-shemesh he/she/it to make: do to/for us [obj] [the] distress: harm [the] great: large [the] this and if not and to know for not hand: power his to touch in/on/with us accident he/she/it to be to/for us

Mændene gjorde da således; de tog to diegivende Køer og spændte dem for Vognen, men Kalvene lukkede de inde i Stalden.
11 and to set: put [obj] ark LORD to(wards) [the] cart and [obj] [the] box and [obj] mouse [the] gold and [obj] image tumor their
Derpå satte de HERRENs Ark på Vognen tillige med Skrinet med Guldmusene og Bylderne.
12 and to smooth [the] heifer in/on/with way: journey upon way: direction Beth-shemesh Beth-shemesh in/on/with highway one to go: walk to go: journey and to low and not to turn aside: turn aside right and left and lord Philistine to go: follow after them till border: boundary Beth-shemesh Beth-shemesh
Men Køerne gik den slagne Vej ad Bet-Sjemesj til; under ustandselig Brølen fulgte de stadig den samme Vej uden at bøje af til højre eller venstre, og Filisterfyrsterne fulgte med dem til Bet-Sjemesj's Landemærke.

Da Bet-Sjemesjiterne, der var ved at høste Hvede i Dalen, så op og fik Øje på Arken, løb de den glade i Møde;

og da Vognen var kommet til Bet-Sjemesjiten Jehosjuas Mark, standsede den. Der lå en stor Sten; de huggede da Træet af Vognen i Stykker og ofrede Køerne som Brændoffer til HERREN.
15 and [the] Levi to go down [obj] ark LORD and [obj] [the] box which with him which in/on/with him article/utensil gold and to set: make to(wards) [the] stone [the] great: large and human Beth-shemesh Beth-shemesh to ascend: offer up burnt offering and to sacrifice sacrifice in/on/with day [the] he/she/it to/for LORD
Og Leviterne løftede HERRENs Ark ned tillige med Skrinet med Guldtingene, der stod ved Siden af, og satte den på den store Sten, og Mændene i Bet-Sjemesj bragte den Dag Brændofre og ofrede Slagtofre til HERREN.
16 and five lord Philistine to see: see and to return: return Ekron in/on/with day [the] he/she/it
Da de fem Filisterfyrster havde set det, vendte de ufortøvet tilbage til Ekron.

Guldmusene svarede til Tallet på alle Filisterbyerne, der tilhørte de fem Fyrster, både de befæstede Byer og Landsbyerne. Vidne derom er den Dag i Dag den store Sten på Bet-Sjemesjifen Jehosjuas Mark, hvorpå de satte HERRENs Ark.

Men Jekonjas Efterkommere havde ikke taget Del i Bet-Sjemesjiternes Glæde over at se HERRENs Ark; derfor ihjelslog han halvfjerdsindstyve Mænd iblandt dem. Da sørgede Folket, fordi HERREN havde slået så mange af dem ihjel;
20 and to say human Beth-shemesh Beth-shemesh who? be able to/for to stand: stand to/for face: before LORD [the] God [the] holy [the] this and to(wards) who? to ascend: rise from upon us
og Bet-Sjemesjiterne sagde:"Hvem kan bestå for HERRENs, denne hellige Guds, Åsyn? Og hvor vil han drage hen fra os?"
21 and to send: depart messenger to(wards) to dwell Kiriath-jearim Kiriath-jearim to/for to say to return: return Philistine [obj] ark LORD to go down to ascend: establish [obj] him to(wards) you
Og de sendte Bud til Indbyggerne i Kirjat-Jearim og lod sige: "Filisterne har sendt HERRENs Ark tilbage. Kom herned og hent den op til eder!"
