၁ရှောလုနှင့်ဒါဝိဒ်တို့စကားပြောပြီးသည့် နောက်ရှောလု၏သားယောနသန်သည် ဒါဝိဒ် အပေါ်တွင်လွန်စွာချစ်ခင်စွဲလန်းလျက် သူ့အားမိမိကိုယ်နှင့်အမျှချစ်လာ၏။-

၂ရှောလုသည်ဒါဝိဒ်အားထိုနေ့မှစ၍အပါး တော်တွင်နေစေတော်မူ၏။ အိမ်ပြန်ခွင့်ကိုပေး တော်မမူ။-

၆ဒါဝိဒ်သည်ဂေါလျတ်ကိုသတ်ပြီးနောက် စစ် သည်တပ်သားများနှင့်အတူအိမ်ပြန်လာ ရာ ရောက်ရှိလေရာမြို့များမှအမျိုးသမီး တို့သည်ရှောလုအားခရီးဦးကြိုပြုကြ၏။ လူတို့သည်ဝမ်းမြောက်စွာသီချင်းများဆို ၍ကခုန်လျက်ပတ်သာများနှင့်စောင်းငယ် များကိုတီးကြ၏။-

၈ရှောလုသည်ဤသို့သီဆိုကြသည်ကိုမနှစ် သက်သဖြင့် အမျက်ထွက်၍``သူတို့ကဒါဝိဒ် သည်သောင်းပေါင်းများစွာသတ်၍ ငါမူကား ထောင်ပေါင်းများစွာသာသတ်ခဲ့ကြောင်းသီ ဆိုချေသည်။ သူ့အားထီးနန်းအပ်နှင်းရန် သာကျန်ပါတော့သည်တကား'' ဟုဆို ပြီးလျှင်၊-

၂၂သူသည်နန်းတွင်းအရာရှိအချို့တို့ကိုလည်း ခေါ်ပြီးလျှင်``သင်တို့သည်ဒါဝိဒ်အား မင်းကြီး သည်သင့်ကိုမြတ်နိုးတော်မူသည်။ အရာရှိ အပေါင်းတို့ကလည်းချစ်ခင်ကြသည်။ သို့ဖြစ် ၍ယခုအချိန်သည်ဘုရင့်သမီးတော်နှင့် သင် ထိမ်းမြားရန်အချိန်ကောင်းပင်ဖြစ်သည်ဟု တိတ်တဆိတ်တိုက်တွန်းကြလော့'' ဟုမှာ ထားတော်မူ၏။

၂၅ထိုအခါရှောလုက``သင်တို့သည်ဒါဝိဒ်အား မင်းကြီးသည်သင့်အားသမီးတော်ကိုပေးရ သည့်အတွက်လက်ဆောင်အဖြစ် သင့်ထံမှ ဖိလိတ္တိအမျိုးသားလူသေအလောင်းတစ်ရာ တို့၏အရေဖျားများကိုသာလျှင် ရန်သူ တို့အားလက်စားချေသည့်အနေဖြင့်အလို ရှိတော်မူသည်ဟုပြောကြားလော့'' ဟု အမိန့်ပေးတော်မူ၏။ (ရှောလုဤသို့ပြု ခြင်းမှာဖိလိတ္တိအမျိုးသားတို့၏လက် ဖြင့်ဒါဝိဒ်အသတ်ခံရရန်ဖြစ်၏။-)

၂၇ဒါဝိဒ်သည်မိမိ၏တပ်သားများနှင့်ထွက်သွား ပြီးလျှင်ဖိလိတ္တိအမျိုးသားနှစ်ရာကိုသတ် ဖြတ်၍ သမက်တော်ဖြစ်ရန်ထိုသူတို့၏အရေ ဖျားများကိုမင်းကြီးထံသို့ယူခဲ့ကာရေ တွက်၍ဆက်၏။ ထို့ကြောင့်ရှောလုသည်သမီး တော်မိခါလအားဒါဝိဒ်နှင့်ထိမ်းမြားစုံဖက် ပေးရလေတော့၏။

၂၈ထာဝရဘုရားသည်ဒါဝိဒ်နှင့်အတူရှိတော် မူကြောင်းကိုလည်းကောင်း၊ မိခါလသည်ဒါဝိဒ် အားချစ်ကြောင်းကိုလည်းကောင်း ကောင်းစွာသိ သဖြင့်၊-
