1 Kings 3

Sa-lô-môn kết thân với Pha-ra-ôn, vua Ai Cập và cưới con gái của ông. Ông đưa nàng về sống tại Thành Đa-vít cho đến khi cung điện, Đền Thờ của Chúa Hằng Hữu, và tường thành chung quanh Giê-ru-sa-lem cất xong.

Trong thời gian chờ đợi Đền Thờ của Chúa Hằng Hữu xây cất xong, dân chúng vẫn dâng tế lễ trên những đồi cao.

Sa-lô-môn kính yêu Chúa Hằng Hữu và vâng theo những huấn lệnh của Đa-vít, cha mình, tuy nhiên, vua vẫn tế lễ và đốt hương tại các đồi cao.

Đêm ấy, Chúa Hằng Hữu hiện ra với Sa-lô-môn trong giấc mộng, và Đức Chúa Trời hỏi: “Con muốn điều gì? Hãy xin, Ta sẽ ban cho con!”

Sa-lô-môn thưa: “Chúa đã tỏ lòng thương xót dồi dào đối với cha con là Đa-vít, vì người đã hết lòng trung thành, công bằng, và ngay thẳng trước mặt Ngài. Chúa vẫn tiếp tục thương xót, cho người có một con trai nối ngôi.
7 and now LORD God my you(m. s.) to reign [obj] servant/slave your underneath: instead David father my and I youth small not to know to come out: come and to come (in): come
Bây giờ, lạy Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của con, Chúa đã cho con làm vua kế vị Đa-vít, cha con, dù con chỉ là một đứa trẻ chưa rõ đường đi nước bước.
8 and servant/slave your in/on/with midst people your which to choose people many which not to count and not to recount from abundance
Con đang ở giữa tuyển dân Ngài, một dân tộc quá đông đúc!
9 and to give: give to/for servant/slave your heart to hear: understand to/for to judge [obj] people your to/for to understand between good to/for bad: evil for who? be able to/for to judge [obj] people your [the] heavy [the] this
Vậy, xin Chúa cho con có sự hiểu biết để cai trị dân Ngài, và để biết phân biệt tốt xấu, đúng sai. Vì ai có thể tự mình cai trị nổi một dân tộc đông đảo như thế này?”

Nghe Sa-lô-môn xin như vậy, Chúa Hằng Hữu rất hài lòng.
11 and to say God to(wards) him because which to ask [obj] [the] word: thing [the] this and not to ask to/for you day many and not to ask to/for you riches and not to ask soul: life enemy your and to ask to/for you to understand to/for to hear: judge justice
Đức Chúa Trời đáp: “Vì con đã không xin sống lâu, giàu sang, hoặc sinh mạng của kẻ thù, nhưng xin sự khôn ngoan để lãnh đạo dân ta trong công lý—
12 behold to make: do like/as word your behold to give: give to/for you heart wise and to understand which like you not to be to/for face: before your and after you not to arise: rise like you
Ta chấp nhận điều con xin, cho con có trí khôn ngoan sáng suốt chẳng ai bằng, kể cả người đời trước và sau con.
13 and also which not to ask to give: give to/for you also riches also glory which not to be like you man: anyone in/on/with king all day your
Ta cũng cho cả những điều con không xin là giàu có và danh vọng. Trong suốt đời con, không vua nước nào sánh nổi.
14 and if to go: walk in/on/with way: conduct my to/for to keep: obey statute: decree my and commandment my like/as as which to go: walk David father your and to prolong [obj] day your
Ta sẽ gia tăng năm tháng đời con nếu con theo đường lối Ta, tuân hành điều răn và luật lệ Ta như cha con, Đa-vít, đã làm.”
15 and to awake Solomon and behold dream and to come (in): come Jerusalem and to stand: stand to/for face: before ark covenant Lord and to ascend: offer up burnt offering and to make: offer peace offering and to make feast to/for all servant/slave his
Sa-lô-môn thức giấc và nhận biết đó là một giấc mộng. Vua về Giê-ru-sa-lem, đứng trước Hòm Giao Ước của Chúa Hằng Hữu dâng lễ thiêu và lễ cầu an. Sau đó, vua mở tiệc khoản đãi toàn thể quần thần.
16 then to come (in): come two woman to fornicate to(wards) [the] king and to stand: stand to/for face: before his
Một hôm, có hai phụ nữ mãi dâm xin vào bệ kiến vua để được phân xử.
17 and to say [the] woman [the] one please lord my I and [the] woman [the] this to dwell in/on/with house: home one and to beget with her in/on/with house: home
Một người nói: “Thưa chúa tôi. Chị này với con ở chung một nhà. Con sinh con trong nhà đó.
18 and to be in/on/with day [the] third to/for to beget me and to beget also [the] woman [the] this and we together nothing be a stranger with us in/on/with house: home exception two we in/on/with house: home
Sau ba ngày, chị ta cũng sinh con. Trong nhà chỉ có hai chúng con, chẳng có người nào khác.
19 and to die son: child [the] woman [the] this night which to lie down: lay down upon him
Đứa con của chị này chết, vì đang đêm chị ấy nằm đè lên.
20 and to arise: rise in/on/with midst [the] night and to take: take [obj] son: child my from beside me and maidservant your sleeping and to lie down: lay down him in/on/with bosom: embrace her and [obj] son: child her [the] to die to lie down: lay down in/on/with bosom: embrace my
Nửa đêm, khi con đang ngủ, chị ta dậy, lấy đứa con nằm bên cạnh con mang sang bên chị ta, và đem đứa con chết của chị ta đặt vào lòng con.
21 and to arise: rise in/on/with morning to/for to suckle [obj] son: child my and behold to die and to understand to(wards) him in/on/with morning and behold not to be son: child my which to beget
Sáng hôm sau, khi thức dậy cho con bú, thấy con đã chết, nhưng nhìn kỹ mới biết nó không phải là con trai con của mình.”
22 and to say [the] woman [the] another not for son: child my [the] alive and son: child your [the] to die and this to say not for son: child your [the] to die and son: child my [the] alive and to speak: speak to/for face: before [the] king
Người đàn bà kia cãi: “Nó đúng là con chị, còn đứa sống là con tôi.” Chị thứ nhất nói: “Không. Đứa chết là con chị, đứa sống mới là con tôi.” Họ cãi qua cãi lại trước mặt vua.
23 and to say [the] king this to say this son: child my [the] alive and son: child your [the] to die and this to say not for son: child your [the] to die and son: child my [the] alive
Vua bảo: “Chị này nói ‘Con trai tôi là đứa sống, con trai chị là đứa chết.’ Chị kia nói ‘Không, con trai chị là đứa chết, con trai tôi là đứa sống.’
24 and to say [the] king to take: bring to/for me sword and to come (in): bring [the] sword to/for face: before [the] king
Hãy đem cho ta một cây gươm.” Người ta dâng gươm cho vua.
25 and to say [the] king to cut [obj] [the] youth [the] alive to/for two and to give: give [obj] [the] half to/for one and [obj] [the] half to/for one
Vua ra lệnh: “Hãy chặt đứa con còn sống ra làm hai và cho mỗi người một nửa.”
26 and to say [the] woman which son: child her [the] alive to(wards) [the] king for to grow warm compassion her upon son: child her and to say please lord my to give: give to/for her [obj] [the] to beget [the] alive and to die not to die him and this to say also to/for me also to/for you not to be to cut
Người phụ nữ thật sự là mẹ của đứa bé còn sống xót thương con, vội nói: “Xin vua đừng giết nó! Cho chị ấy đi!” Ngược lại, chị kia đáp: “Nó không thuộc về tôi, cũng không thuộc về chị. Cứ chia đôi nó đi!”
27 and to answer [the] king and to say to give: give to/for her [obj] [the] to beget [the] alive and to die not to die him he/she/it mother his
Vua ra lệnh: “Giao đứa bé còn sống ấy cho người thứ nhất. Đừng giết đứa bé, vì chị ta đúng là mẹ nó.”
28 and to hear: hear all Israel [obj] [the] justice: judgement which to judge [the] king and to fear: revere from face of [the] king for to see: examine for wisdom God in/on/with entrails: among his to/for to make: do justice
Nghe vua xử án như thế, toàn dân Ít-ra-ên đều kính sợ, vì biết rằng Đức Chúa Trời cho vua trí khôn để cầm cân công lý.
