1 Corinthians 8

Quant à ce qu’on offre en sacrifice aux idoles, nous savons que nous avons tous une science suffisante. La science enfle, mais la charité édifie.

2 if (then *k*) one to think (to know *N(k)O*) one (not yet *N(k)O*) (none *k*) (to know *N(k)O*) as/just as be necessary to know

Si quelqu’un se persuade savoir quelque chose, il ne sait pas encore comment il doit savoir.

3 if then one to love the/this/who God this/he/she/it to know by/under: by it/s/he

Mais si quelqu’un aime Dieu, celui-là est connu de lui.

4 about the/this/who eating therefore/then the/this/who sacrificed to idols to know that/since: that none idol in/on/among world and that/since: that none God (other *k*) if: not not one

À l’égard des viandes qui sont immolées aux idoles, nous savons qu’une idole n’est rien dans le monde, et qu’il n’y a nul Dieu que l’unique.

5 and for if indeed to be to say: call God whether in/on/among heaven whether upon/to/against (the/this/who *k*) earth: planet just as to be God much and lord: master much

Car, quoiqu’il y ait ce qu’on appelle des dieux, soit dans le ciel, soit sur la terre (or il y a ainsi beaucoup de dieux et beaucoup de seigneurs);

6 but me one God the/this/who father out from which the/this/who all and me toward it/s/he and one lord: God Jesus Christ through/because of which the/this/who all and me through/because of it/s/he

Pour nous, cependant, il n’est qu’un seul Dieu, le Père, de qui toutes choses viennent, et nous surtout, qu’il a faits pour lui; et qu’un seul Seigneur, Jésus-Christ, par qui toutes choses sont, et nous aussi par lui.

Mais cette science n’est pas en tous. Car, même jusqu’à cette heure, quelques-uns, dans la persuasion de la réalité de l’idole, mangent des viandes comme ayant été offertes à l’idole: ainsi leur conscience, qui est faible, s’en trouve souillée.

Ce ne sont point les aliments qui nous recommandent devant Dieu. Car si nous mangeons, nous n’aurons rien de plus; et si nous ne mangeons pas, rien de moins.

Mais prenez garde que cette liberté que vous avez ne soit aux faibles une occasion de chute.

Car si quelqu’un voit celui qui a la science assis à table dans un temple d’idoles, sa conscience, qui est faible, ne le portera-t-elle pas à manger des viandes sacrifiées?

11 (to destroy *N(K)O*) (for *N(k)O*) the/this/who be weak: weak (in/on/among *N(k)O*) the/this/who you knowledge (the/this/who *no*) brother through/because of which Christ to die

Ainsi, par votre science, périra votre frère encore faible, pour qui le Christ est mort.

12 thus(-ly) then to sin toward the/this/who brother and to strike it/s/he the/this/who conscience be weak: weak toward Christ to sin

Or, péchant de la sorte contre vos frères, et blessant leur conscience faible, vous péchez contre le Christ.

13 for if food to cause to stumble the/this/who brother me no not to eat meat toward the/this/who an age: eternity in order that/to not the/this/who brother me to cause to stumble (aiōn g165)

C’est pourquoi, si ce que je mange scandalise mon frère, je ne mangerai jamais de chair, afin de ne point scandaliser mon frère. (aiōn g165)
