اصل و نسب تمام اسرائیلی‌ها در کتاب «تاریخ پادشاهان اسرائیل» نوشته شد. مردم یهودا به سبب بت‌پرستی به بابِل تبعید شدند.

2 and [the] to dwell [the] first which in/on/with possession their in/on/with city their Israel [the] priest [the] Levi and [the] temple servant

نخستین گروهی که از تبعید بازگشتند و در شهرهای قبلی خود ساکن شدند، شامل خاندانهایی از قبایل اسرائیل، کاهنان، لاویان و خدمتگزاران خانهٔ خدا بودند.

3 and in/on/with Jerusalem to dwell from son: descendant/people Judah and from son: descendant/people Benjamin and from son: descendant/people Ephraim and Manasseh

از قبیله‌های یهودا، بنیامین، افرایم و منسی عده‌ای به اورشلیم بازگشتند تا در آنجا ساکن شوند.

4 Uthai son: child Ammihud son: child Omri son: child Imri son: child (Bani from *Q(K)*) son: descendant/people Perez son: child Judah

از قبیلهٔ یهودا خاندانهای زیر که جمعاً ۶۹۰ نفر بودند در اورشلیم سکونت گزیدند: خاندان عوتای (عوتای پسر عمیهود، عمیهود پسر عمری، عمری پسر امری، امری پسر بانی بود) از طایفۀ فارص (فارص پسر یهودا بود)؛ خاندان عسایا (عسایا پسر ارشد شیلون بود) از طایفهٔ شیلون؛ خاندان یعوئیل از طایفهٔ زارح.

5 and from [the] Shilonite Asaiah [the] firstborn and son: child his

6 and from son: child Zerah Jeuel and brother: male-relative their six hundred and ninety

7 and from son: descendant/people Benjamin Sallu son: child Meshullam son: child Hodaviah son: child [the] Senaah

از قبیلهٔ بنیامین خاندانهای زیر که جمع ۹۵۶ نفر بودند در اورشلیم سکونت گزیدند: خاندان سلو (سلو پسر مشلام نوهٔ هودویا نبیرهٔ هسنوآه بود)؛ خاندان یبنیا (یبنیا پسر یروحام بود)؛ خاندان ایله (ایله پسر عزی و نوهٔ مکری بود)؛ خاندان مشلام (مشلام پسر شفطیا نوهٔ رعوئیل و نبیرهٔ یبنیا بود).

8 and Ibneiah son: child Jeroham and Elah son: child Uzzi son: child Michri and Meshullam son: child Shephatiah son: child Reuel son: child Ibnijah

کاهنانی که در اورشلیم ساکن شدند، اینها بودند: یدعیا، یهویاریب، یاکین و عزریا (پسر حلقیا، حلقیا پسر مشلام، مشلام پسر صادوق، صادوق پسر مرایوت، مرایوت پسر اخیطوب). عزریا سرپرست خانهٔ خدا بود.

11 and Azariah son: child Hilkiah son: child Meshullam son: child Zadok son: child Meraioth son: child Ahitub leader house: temple [the] God

12 and Adaiah son: child Jeroham son: child Pashhur son: child Malchijah and Maasai son: child Adiel son: child Jahzerah son: child Meshullam son: child Meshillemith son: child Immer

یکی دیگر از کاهنان عدایا نام داشت. (عدایا پسر یروحام، یروحام پسر فشحور، فشحور پسر ملکیا بود.) کاهن دیگر معسای بود. (معسای پسر عدی‌ئیل، عدی‌ئیل پسر یحزیره، یحزیره پسر مشلام، مشلام پسر مشلیمیت، مشلیمیت پسر امیر بود.)

این کاهنان و خاندانهایشان جمعاً ۱٬۷۶۰ نفر می‌شدند. همگی ایشان شایستگی خدمت در خانۀ خدا را داشتند.

14 and from [the] Levi Shemaiah son: child Hasshub son: child Azrikam son: child Hashabiah from son: child Merari

لاویانی که در اورشلیم ساکن شدند عبارت بودند از: شمعیا (پسر حشوب، نوه عزریقام و نبیرهٔ حشبیا که از طایفهٔ مراری بود): بقبقر؛ حارش؛ جلال؛ متنیا (پسر میکا، نوه زکری و نبیرهٔ آساف)؛ عوبدیا (پسر شمعیا، نوهٔ جلال و نبیرهٔ یِدوتون)؛ برخیا (پسر آسا و نوهٔ القانه که در ناحیهٔ نطوفاتیان ساکن بود).

15 and Bakbakkar Heresh and Galal and Mattaniah son: child Mica son: child Zichri son: child Asaph

16 and Obadiah son: child Shemaiah son: child Galal son: child Jeduthun and Berechiah son: child Asa son: child Elkanah [the] to dwell in/on/with village Netophathite

17 and [the] gatekeeper Shallum and Akkub and Talmon and Ahiman and brother: male-relative their Shallum [the] head: leader

نگهبانانی که در اورشلیم ساکن شدند عبارت بودند از: شلوم (رئیس نگهبانان)، عقوب، طلمون و اخیمان که همه لاوی بودند. ایشان هنوز مسئول نگهبانی دروازهٔ شرقی کاخ سلطنتی هستند.

18 and till here/thus in/on/with gate [the] king east [to] they(masc.) [the] gatekeeper to/for camp son: descendant/people Levi

19 and Shallum son: child Kore son: child Ebiasaph son: child Korah and brother: male-relative his to/for house: household father his [the] Korahite upon work [the] service: ministry to keep: guard [the] threshold to/for tent and father their upon camp LORD to keep: guard [the] entrance

نسل شلوم از قوری و ابیاساف به قورح می‌رسید. شلوم و خویشاوندان نزدیکش که از نسل قورح بودند جلوی دروازهٔ خانهٔ خدا نگهبانی می‌دادند، درست همان‌طور که اجدادشان مسئول نگهبانی مدخل خیمهٔ عبادت بودند.

20 and Phinehas son: child Eleazar leader to be upon them to/for face: before LORD with him

در آن زمان فینحاس پسر العازار، بر کار آنها نظارت می‌کرد و خداوند با او بود.

زکریا پسر مشلمیا مسئول نگهبانی مدخل خیمۀ ملاقات بود.

22 all their [the] to purify to/for gatekeeper in/on/with threshold hundred and two ten they(masc.) in/on/with village their to enroll they they(masc.) to found David and Samuel [the] seer in/on/with faithfulness their

تعداد نگهبانان ۲۱۲ نفر بود. آنها مطابق نسب نامه‌هایشان از روستاها انتخاب شدند. اجداد آنها به‌وسیلۀ داوود پادشاه و سموئیل نبی به این سمت تعیین شده بودند.

23 and they(masc.) and son: descendant/people their upon [the] gate to/for house: temple LORD to/for house: home [the] tent to/for charge

مسئولیت نگهبانی دروازه‌های خانهٔ خداوند به عهدهٔ آنها و فرزندانشان گذاشته شده بود.

24 to/for four spirit: side to be [the] gatekeeper east sea: west [to] north [to] and south [to]

این نگهبانان در چهار طرف خانهٔ خداوند شرق و غرب، شمال و جنوب مستقر شدند.

25 and brother: male-relative their in/on/with village their to/for to come (in): come to/for seven [the] day from time to(wards) time with these

خویشاوندان ایشان که در روستاها بودند هر چند وقت یکبار برای یک هفته به جای آنها نگهبانی می‌دادند.

26 for in/on/with faithfulness they(masc.) four mighty man [the] gatekeeper they(masc.) [the] Levi and to be upon [the] chamber and upon [the] treasure house: temple [the] God

ریاست نگهبانان را چهار لاوی به عهده داشتند که شغلهایشان بسیار حساس بود. آنها مسئولیت اتاقها و خزانه‌های خانۀ خدا را به عهده داشتند.

27 and around house: temple [the] God to lodge for upon them charge and they(masc.) upon [the] key and to/for morning to/for morning

خانه‌های ایشان نزدیک خانهٔ خدا بود چون می‌بایست آن را نگهبانی می‌کردند و هر روز صبح زود دروازه‌ها را باز می‌نمودند.

28 and from them upon article/utensil [the] service: ministry for in/on/with number to come (in): bring them and in/on/with number to come out: send them

بعضی از لاویان مسئول نگهداری ظروفی بودند که برای قربانی کردن از آنها استفاده می‌شد. هر بار که این ظروف را به جای خود برمی‌گرداندند، با دقت آنها را می‌شمردند تا گم نشوند.

29 and from them to count upon [the] article/utensil and upon all article/utensil [the] holiness and upon [the] fine flour and [the] wine and [the] oil and [the] frankincense and [the] spice

دیگران مأمور حفظ اثاث خانهٔ خدا و نگهداری از آرد نرم، شراب، روغن زیتون، بخور و عطریات بودند.

30 and from son: child [the] priest to mix [the] ointment to/for spice

بعضی از کاهنان، عطریات تهیه می‌کردند.

31 and Mattithiah from [the] Levi he/she/it [the] firstborn to/for Shallum [the] Korahite in/on/with faithfulness upon deed: work [the] flatbread

مَتّیتیا (یکی از لاویان و پسر بزرگ شلوم قورحی)، مسئول پختن نانی بود که به خدا تقدیم می‌شد.

32 and from son: descendant/people [the] Kohathite from brother: male-relative their upon food: bread [the] row to/for to establish: prepare Sabbath Sabbath

بعضی از افراد خاندان قهات مأمور تهیهٔ نان حضور روز شَبّات بودند.

33 and these [the] to sing head: leader father to/for Levi in/on/with chamber (to separate *Q(K)*) for by day and night upon them in/on/with work

برخی از خاندانهای لاوی مسئولیت موسیقی خانهٔ خدا را به عهده داشتند. سران این خاندانها در اتاقهایی که در خانهٔ خدا بود، زندگی می‌کردند. ایشان شب و روز آمادهٔ خدمت بودند و مسئولیت دیگری نداشتند.

34 these head: leader [the] father to/for Levi to/for generation their head: leader these to dwell in/on/with Jerusalem

تمام افرادی که در بالا نام برده شدند، طبق نسب نامه‌هایشان، سران خاندانهای لاوی بودند. این رهبران در اورشلیم زندگی می‌کردند.

35 and in/on/with Gibeon to dwell father of Gibeon (Jeiel *Q(K)*) and name woman: wife his Maacah

یعی‌ئیل شهر جبعون را بنا کرد و در آنجا ساکن شد. نام زن او معکه بود.

36 and son: child his [the] firstborn Abdon and Zur and Kish and Baal and Ner and Nadab

پسر ارشد او عبدون و پسران دیگرش عبارت بودند از: صور، قیس، بعل، نیر، ناداب،

37 and Gedor and Ahio and Zechariah and Mikloth

جدور، اخیو، زکریا و مقلوت.

38 and Mikloth to beget [obj] Shimeam and also they(masc.) before brother: male-relative their to dwell in/on/with Jerusalem with brother: male-relative their

مقلوت پدر شمام بود. این خانواده‌ها با هم در اورشلیم زندگی می‌کردند.

39 and Ner to beget [obj] Kish and Kish to beget [obj] Saul and Saul to beget [obj] Jonathan and [obj] Malchi-shua Malchi-shua and [obj] Abinadab and [obj] Eshbaal

نیر پدر قیس، قیس پدر شائول، و شائول پدر یوناتان، ملکیشوع، ابیناداب و اشبعل بود.

40 and son: child Jonathan Merib-baal Merib-baal and Merib-baal Merib-baal to beget [obj] Micah

یوناتان پدر مفیبوشت، مفیبوشت پدر میکا،

41 and son: child Micah Pithon and Melech and Tahrea (and Ahaz *X*)

میکا پدر فیتون، مالک، تحریع و آحاز،

42 and Ahaz to beget [obj] Jarah and Jarah to beget [obj] Alemeth and [obj] Azmaveth and [obj] Zimri and Zimri to beget [obj] Moza

آحاز پدر یعره، یعره پدر علمت، عزموت و زمری، زمری پدر موصا،

43 and Moza to beget [obj] Binea and Rephaiah son: child his Eleasah son: child his Azel son: child his

موصا پدر بنعا، بنعا پدر رفایا، رفایا پدر العاسه و العاسه پدر آصیل بود.

44 and to/for Azel six son: child and these name their Azrikam Bocheru and Ishmael and Sheariah and Obadiah and Hanan these son: child Azel

آصیل شش پسر داشت به اسامی: عزریقام، بکرو، اسماعیل، شعریا، عوبدیا و حانان.
