1 Chronicles 19
1 and to be after so and to die Nahash king son: descendant/people Ammon and to reign son: child his underneath: instead him
此後アンモンの子孫の王ナハシ死ければその子これに代りて王となりたり

ダビデ言けるは我ナハシの子ヌンをねんごろに遇らはんかれが父われをねんごろにあしらひたればなりとダビデすなはち彼をその父の故によりて慰めんとて使者を遣はせりダビデの臣僕等アンモンの子孫の地に往きハヌンに詣りてこれを慰めけるに

アンモンの子孫の牧伯等ハヌンに言けるはダビデ慰籍者を汝につかはしたるに因て彼なんぢの父を尊ぶと汝の目に見ゆるや彼の臣僕等は此國を窺ひ探りて滅ぼさんとて來れるならずやと

是においてハヌン、ダビデの臣僕等を執へてその鬚を剃おとしその衣服を中より斷て腎までにして之を歸したりしが

或人きたりて此人々の爲られし事をダビデに告ければダビデ人をつかはして之を迎へしめたりその人々おほいに愧たればなり即ち王いひけるは汝ら鬚の長るまでヱリコに止まりて然る後かへるべしと

アンモンの子孫自己のダビデに惡まるる樣になれるを見しかばハヌンおよびアンモンの子孫すなはち銀一千タラントをおくりてメソポタミヤとスリアマアカおよびゾバより戰車と騎兵とを雇ひいれたり

即ち戰車三萬二千乗にマアカの王とその兵士を雇ひければ彼ら來りてメデバの前に陣を張り是においてアンモンの子孫その邑々より寄あつまりて戰はんとて來れり

ダビデ聞てヨアブと勇士の惣軍を遣しけるに

アンモンの子孫は出て邑の門の前に戰爭の陣列をなせり又援助に來れる王等は別に野に居り

時にヨアブ前後より敵の攻寄るを見てイスラエルの倔強の兵士の中を抽擢て之をしてスリア人にむかひて陣列しめ

その餘の民をばその兄弟アビシヤイの手に交してアンモンの子孫にむかひて陣列しめ

而して言けるはスリア人もし我に手強からば汝我を助けよアンモンの子孫もし汝に手強からば我なんぢを助けん

ヨアブ己に從へる民とともに進みよりてスリア人を攻撃けるにスリア人かれの前より潰奔れり

アンモンの子孫はスリア人の潰奔れるを見て自己等もまたその兄弟アビシヤイの前より逃奔りて城邑にいりぬ是においてヨアブはヱルサレムに歸れり

スリア人はそのイスラエルに撃やぶられたるを見て使者を遣はして河の彼旁なるスリア人を將ゐ出せりハダレゼルの軍旅の長シヨバクこれを率ゆ

その事ダビデに聞えければ彼イスラエルを悉く集めヨルダンを渡りて彼らの所に來り之にむかひて戰爭の陣列を立たりダビデかく彼らにむかひて戰爭の陣列を立たれば彼らこれと戰へり

然るにスリア人イスラエルの前に潰たればダビデ、スリアの兵車の人七千歩兵四萬を殺しまた軍旅の長シヨバクを殺せり

ハダレゼルの臣たる者等そのイスラエルに撃やぶられたるを見てダピデと和睦をなしてこれが臣となれりスリア人は此後ふたたびアンモンの子孫を助くることを爲ざりき
