1 Chronicles 12

૧હવે દાઉદ કીશના દીકરા શાઉલને લીધે હજી સંતાતો રહેતો હતો તેવામાં તેની પાસે જેઓ સિકલાગ આવ્યા તેઓ આ છે: તેઓ તેને યુદ્ધમાં સહાય કરનાર શૂરવીરોમાંના હતા.

૨તેઓ ધનુર્ધારીઓ હતા, જમણે તથા ડાબે હાથે ગોફણથી પથ્થર ફેંકી શકતા હતા તથા ધનુષ્યથી બાણ મારી શકતા હતા. તેઓ બિન્યામીની શાઉલના ભાઈઓમાંના હતા.

૩મુખ્ય અહીએઝેર, પછી યોઆશ, તેઓ ગિબ્યાથી શમ્માના દીકરા હતા. આઝમાવેથ દીકરાઓ યઝીએલ તથા પેલેટ. બરાખા તથા યેહૂ અનાથોથી,

૪ત્રીસમાંનો પરાક્રમી તથા ત્રીસનો સરદાર ઇશ્માયા ગિબ્યોની, યર્મિયા, યાહઝીએલ, યોહાનાન તથા યોઝાબાદ ગદેરાથી.

૫એલુઝાય, યરિમોથ, બાલ્યા, શમાર્યા તથા શફાટયા હરુફી,
6 Elkanah and Isshiah and Azarel and Joezer and Jashobeam [the] Korahite
૬એલ્કાના, યિશ્શિયા, અઝારેલ, યોએઝેર તથા યાશોબામ એ કોરાહીઓ હતા,
7 and Joelah and Zebadiah son: child Jeroham from [the] Gedor
૭ગદોરના યરોહામના દીકરાઓ યોએલા તથા ઝબાદ્યા.

૮ગાદીઓમાંથી કેટલાક શૂરવીર તથા યુદ્ધમાં કુશળ, ઢાલ તથા ભાલા વાપરી શકે એવા, સિંહના જેવા વિકરાળ મુખવાળા, પર્વત પરનાં હરણો જેવા ચપળ પુરુષો જુદા પડીને અરણ્યના ગઢમાં દાઉદ પાસે ગયા.

૯તેઓમાં આગેવાન એઝેર, બીજો ઓબાદ્યા, ત્રીજો અલિયાબ,

૧૦ચોથો મિશ્માન્ના, પાંચમો યર્મિયા,
11 Attai [the] sixth Eliel [the] seventh
૧૧છઠ્ઠો આત્તાય, સાતમો અલીએલ,
12 Johanan [the] eighth Elzabad [the] ninth
૧૨આઠમો યોહાનાન, નવમો એલ્ઝાબાદ,
13 Jeremiah [the] tenth Machbannai eleven ten
૧૩દસમો યર્મિયા, અગિયારમો માખ્બાન્નાઈ.

૧૪ગાદના દીકરાઓ સૈન્યના સરદારો હતા. જે સૌથી નાનો હતો તે સો ની બરાબર હતો, સૌથી મોટો હતો તે હજારની બરાબર હતો.

૧૫પહેલાં મહિનામાં યર્દન પોતાના કિનારા પરથી છલકાઈ હતી તે વખતે જેઓ તેની પાર ગયા, તેઓએ પૂર્વના તથા પશ્ચિમના નીચાણ પ્રદેશમાં રહેનારા સર્વને નસાડી મૂક્યા હતા તેઓ એ છે.

૧૬બિન્યામીનના તથા યહૂદાના પુત્રોમાંના કેટલાક દાઉદની પાસે ગઢમાં આવ્યા.

૧૭દાઉદ તેઓને મળવા ગયો અને તેઓને ઉત્તર આપીને કહ્યું, “જો તમે મને સહાય કરવા સારુ શાંતિથી મારી પાસે આવ્યા હશો, તો મારું હૃદય તમારી સાથે એકરૂપ થશે. પણ હું નિર્દોષ છતાં, જો તમે મને મારા વૈરીઓને સ્વાધીન કરવા માટે આવ્યા હો, તો તે જોઈને આપણા પિતૃઓના ઈશ્વર તેને માટે શિક્ષા કરો.”

૧૮ત્યારે ત્રીસમાંના મુખ્ય અમાસાય પર આત્મા આવ્યો. અમાસાયે કહ્યું, “દાઉદ, અમે તારા છીએ. યિશાઈના દીકરા અમે તારે પક્ષે છીએ. તમને શાંતિ થાઓ, શાંતિ થાઓ, જેઓ તમને મદદ કરે છે તેમને શાંતિ થાઓ. કેમ કે તમારા ઈશ્વર તમને સહાય કરનાર છે.” ત્યારે દાઉદ તેઓનો અંગીકાર કર્યો અને તેઓને લશ્કરી જૂથોના સરદારો તરીકે નીમ્યા.

૧૯વળી જયારે દાઉદ પલિસ્તીઓની સાથે શાઉલની સામે યુદ્ધમાં આવ્યો ત્યારે મનાશ્શામાંના પણ કેટલાક તેના પક્ષમાં આવ્યા, પણ તેઓએ પલિસ્તીઓની સહાય કરી નહિ, કેમ કે પલિસ્તીઓના સરદારોએ અંદરોઅંદર સલાહ કરીને દાઉદને વિદાય કર્યો. તેઓએ કહ્યું, “પોતાના માલિક શાઉલની તરફ ફરી જઈને તે અમારા શિર જોખમમાં નાખશે.”

૨૦જયારે તે સિકલાગમાં જતો હતો, ત્યારે મનાશ્શામાંના આદના, યોઝાબાદ, યદીએલ, મિખાએલ, યોઝાબાદ, અલીહૂ તથા સિલ્લથાય, મનાશ્શાના સહસ્રાધિપતિઓ નીકળીને તેના પક્ષમાં આવ્યા.

૨૧તેઓએ ભટકતા ઘાડાં વિરુદ્ધ દાઉદને સહાય કરી, કેમ કે તેઓ સર્વ શૂરવીરો હતા. પછી તેઓ સૈન્યમાં સરદારો થયા.

૨૨તે સમયે દરરોજ દાઉદને સહાય કરવા માટે લોકો તેની પાસે આવતા, જેથી તેનું સૈન્ય ઈશ્વરના સૈન્ય જેવું મોટું થયું.

૨૩સૈન્ય માટે તૈયાર થયેલા જે લોકો ઈશ્વરના વચન પ્રમાણે શાઉલનું રાજય દાઉદને અપાવવા માટે તેની પાસે હેબ્રોનમાં આવ્યા, તેઓના ઉપરીઓની સંખ્યા આ પ્રમાણે છે:

૨૪યહૂદાના પુત્રો ઢાલ તથા બરછી ધારણ કરીને જે સૈન્ય યુદ્ધને માટે તૈયાર થયું હતું, તેઓ છ હજાર આઠસો હતા.

૨૫શિમયોનીઓમાંથી યુદ્ધને માટે શૂરવીર પુરુષો સાત હજાર એકસો.

૨૬લેવીઓમાંથી ચાર હજાર છસો.

૨૭હારુનના વંશજનો આગેવાન યહોયાદા હતો, તેની સાથેના ત્રણ હજાર સાતસો.

૨૮સાદોક એક જુવાન તથા શૂરવીર પુરુષ તથા તેના પિતાના કુટુંબનાં બાવીસ આગેવાન તેની સાથે હતા.

૨૯બિન્યામીનના પુત્રોમાંથી શાઉલના ભાઈઓ ત્રણ હજાર હતા. કેમ કે હજી સુધી તેઓનો મોટો ભાગ શાઉલના કુટુંબ પ્રત્યે વફાદાર રહ્યો હતો.

૩૦એફ્રાઇમના પુત્રોમાંથી વીસ હજાર આઠસો, તેઓ પોતાના પિતાના કુટુંબમાં નામાંકિત શૂરવીર પુરુષો હતા.

૩૧મનાશ્શાના અડધા કુળમાંથી અઢાર હજાર નામાંકિત માણસો જેઓ દાઉદને રાજા બનાવવા માટે આવ્યા હતા.

૩૨ઇસ્સાખારના પુત્રોમાંથી તે સમયે બસો એવા માણસો હતા કે જેઓ તે સમયે શાની જરૂર છે, ઇઝરાયલે શું કરવું જોઈએ, તે સમજતા હતા. તેઓના સર્વ ભાઈઓ તેઓની આજ્ઞાને આધીન રહેતા હતા.

૩૩ઝબુલોનમાંથી સૈન્યમાં જઈ શકે તેવા તથા સર્વ પ્રકારના યુદ્ધશસ્ત્રો સહિત યુદ્ધ-વ્યૂહ રચી શકે એવા પચાસ હજાર શૂરવીર પુરુષો હતા તેઓ સંપૂર્ણપણે વફાદાર હતા.

૩૪નફતાલીમાંથી એક હજાર સરદાર, તેઓની સાથે ઢાલ તથા બરછીવાળા સાડત્રીસ હજાર પુરુષો હતા.

૩૫દાનીઓમાંથી વ્યૂહરચના કરી શકે એવા અઠાવીસ હજાર છસો પુરુષો હતા.
36 and from Asher to come out: regular army: war to/for to arrange battle forty thousand
૩૬આશેરમાંથી યુદ્ધમાં જઈ શકે એવા તથા વ્યૂહરચના કરી શકે એવા ચાળીસ હજાર પુરુષો હતા.
37 and from side: beyond to/for Jordan from [the] Reubenite and [the] Gad and half tribe: staff Manasseh in/on/with all article/utensil army: war battle hundred and twenty thousand
૩૭યર્દનને પેલે પાર રુબેનીઓમાંથી, ગાદીઓમાંથી તથા મનાશ્શાના અડધા કુળમાંથી યુદ્ધને માટે સર્વ પ્રકારના શસ્ત્ર સહિત એક લાખ વીસ હજાર પુરુષો હતા.

૩૮સર્વ લડવૈયા તથા યુદ્ધને માટે તૈયાર એવા માણસો દાઉદને સર્વ ઇઝરાયલ ઉપર રાજા બનાવવાના દ્રઢ ઇરાદાથી હેબ્રોનમાં આવ્યા હતા. દાઉદને રાજા બનાવવા માટે બાકીના સર્વ ઇઝરાયલીઓ પણ સંમત હતા.

૩૯તેઓ ખાઈપીને ત્યાં ત્રણ દિવસ સુધી દાઉદની સાથે રહ્યા, કેમ કે તેઓના ભાઈઓએ તેઓને માટે તૈયારી કરેલી હતી.

૪૦વળી જેઓ તેઓની પાસેના હતા એટલે ઇસ્સાખાર, ઝબુલોન તથા નફતાલી સુધીના જેઓ હતા, તેઓ ગધેડાં પર, ઊંટો પર, ખચ્ચરો પર, બળદો પર ખોરાક એટલે રોટલી, દ્રાક્ષની લૂમો, અંજીરના ચકતાં, દ્રાક્ષારસ, તેલ, ગધેડાંઓ તથા ઘેટાં પુષ્કળ પ્રમાણમાં લાવ્યા હતા. કેમ કે ઇઝરાયલમાં સર્વત્ર આનંદોત્સવ થઈ રહ્યો હતો.
