Zechariah 10

1 Ask from Yahweh rain at [the] time of spring rain Yahweh [is] making thunder-clouds and rain of rain he gives to them to everyone vegetation in the field.

Demandez de la pluie à l’Eternel dans la saison des dernières pluies: c’est l’Eternel qui produit les éclairs. Il vous donnera des ondées abondantes, à chacun l’herbe des champs.

2 For the teraphim they speak wickedness and the diviners they see falsehood and [the] dreams of worthlessness they speak futility they comfort! there-fore they have set out like sheep they are afflicted for there not [is] a shepherd.

C’Est que les Terafim débitent de vains discours, les augures des visions mensongères, les songes disent des faussetés, apportent des consolations illusoires; c’est pourquoi ils vaguent comme des brebis, ils sont dans la misère, faute de pasteurs.

3 Towards the shepherds it has burned anger my and on the leaders I will visit [judgment] for he visits Yahweh of hosts flock his [the] house of Judah and he will make them like [the] horse of majesty his in battle.

Contre les pasteurs ma colère s’est allumée, je sévirai contre les boucs conducteurs du troupeau, car l’Eternel-Cebaot a passé en revue son troupeau, la maison de Juda, et la considère comme son coursier d’honneur dans la bataille.

4 From it a corner from it a peg from it a bow of war from it he will come forth every ruler together.

C’Est de là que provient la pierre d’angle, de là la cheville ouvrière, de là l’arc de combat; de là sortent les vainqueurs tous ensemble.

5 And they will be like warriors treading down in [the] mud of [the] streets in battle and they will fight for Yahweh [will be] with them and they will put to shame riders of horses.

Ils seront comme des héros piétinant, dans la mêlée, la boue des chemins; ils soutiendront la lutte, car l’Eternel est avec eux: ceux qui montent des chevaux seront couverts de confusion.

6 And I will make strong - [the] house of Judah and [the] house of Joseph I will save and I will restore them for I have compassion on them and they will be just as not I had rejected them for I [am] Yahweh God their and I will answer them.

Je donnerai la victoire à la maison de Juda, je prêterai main-forte à la maison de Joseph; je les rétablirai après les avoir pris en pitié: ils seront comme si jamais je ne les avais délaissés, car je suis l’Eternel, leur Dieu, et je les exaucerai.

7 And they will be like a warrior Ephraim and it will be glad heart their like wine and children their they will see and they will be glad it may rejoice heart their in Yahweh.

Ephraïm sera tel qu’un vaillant guerrier, son cœur sera joyeux comme sous l’action du vin. Ses fils le verront et se réjouiront, leur cœur exultera en l’Eternel.

8 I will whistle for them and I will gather them for I have redeemed them and they will multiply as they multiplied.

Je leur ferai entendre le signal et les rassemblerai, parce que je les aurai rachetés. Ils seront nombreux comme jadis ils furent nombreux.

9 And I will sow them among the peoples and in the distant places they will remember me and they will live with children their and they will return.

Quand je les aurai semés parmi les nations, dans les pays lointains, ils se souviendront de moi; ils y vivront avec leurs enfants, puis ils reviendront.

10 And I will bring back them from [the] land of Egypt and from Assyria I will gather them and to [the] land of Gilead and Lebanon I will bring them and not it will be found for them.

Je les ramènerai du pays d’Egypte, je les rassemblerai du pays d’Achour; je les ferai rentrer au pays de Galaad et au Liban, et ils s’y trouveront à l’étroit.

11 And he will pass in the sea trouble and he will strike in the sea waves and they will dry up all [the] depths of [the] River and it will be brought down [the] pride of Assyria and [the] scepter of Egypt it will depart.

Alors la détresse franchira la mer et frappera les flots au sein de l’Océan, toutes les sources profondes du Nil tariront. Ainsi sera abaissé l’orgueil d’Achour, et le sceptre disparaîtra de l’Egypte.

12 And I will make strong them by Yahweh and in name his they will go about [the] utterance of Yahweh.

Quant à eux je les rendrai puissants par l’Eternel, et ils marcheront fièrement en son nom, dit l’Eternel.
