Ruth 1
1 And it was in [the] days of [the] judging of the judges and it was a famine in the land and he went a man from Beth-lehem Judah to sojourn in [the] region of Moab he and wife his and [the] two sons his.
Trong thời các phán quan, Ít-ra-ên gặp một nạn đói. Có một người ở Bết-lê-hem, xứ Giu-đa đem vợ và hai con trai đến kiều ngụ tại Mô-áp.
2 And [the] name of the man [was] Elimelech and [the] name of wife his [was] Naomi and [the] name of [the] two sons his - [was] Mahlon and Kilion Ephrathites from Beth-lehem Judah and they came [the] region of Moab and they were there.
Người ấy là Ê-li-mê-léc, có vợ là Na-ô-mi, hai con trai là Mạc-lôn và Ki-li-ôn thuộc về dân tộc Ê-phơ-rát, Bết-lê-hem, xứ Giu-đa.
3 And he died Elimelech [the] husband of Naomi and she was left she and [the] two sons her.
Ê-li-mê-léc qua đời để lại Na-ô-mi và hai con.
4 And they took for themselves wives Moabite [the] name of the one [was] Orpah and [the] name of the second [was] Ruth and they dwelt there about ten years.
Hai người con lập gia đình với hai cô gái Mô-áp. Một cô tên là Ọt-ba, một cô là Ru-tơ. Sau chừng mười năm sống trong đất Mô-áp,
5 And they died also both of them Mahlon and Kilion and she was left the woman from both children her and from husband her.
Mạc-lôn và Ki-li-ôn cũng chết. Na-ô-mi ở lại không chồng không con.
6 And she arose she and daughters-in-law her and she returned from [the] region of Moab if she had heard in [the] region of Moab that he had visited Yahweh people his by giving to them food.
Na-ô-mi nghe tin Chúa Hằng Hữu ban phước cho dân Ngài tại Giu-đa và cho họ sống no đủ. Vậy Na-ô-mi cùng hai dâu chuẩn bị rời Mô-áp trở về quê hương của bà.
7 And she went out from the place where she had been there and [the] two daughters-in-law her [were] with her and they went on the way to return to [the] land of Judah.
Từ nơi bà từng sống với hai con dâu, họ lên đường trở về Giu-đa.
8 And she said Naomi to [the] two daughters-in-law her go return [each] woman to [the] house of mother her (may he deal *Q(K)*) Yahweh with you covenant loyalty just as you have dealt with the dead and with me.
Nhưng, Na-ô-mi nói với hai con dâu: “Các con nên quay về nhà mẹ mình thay vì đi với mẹ. Xin Chúa Hằng Hữu đối xử tốt với hai con như hai con đã hết lòng với chồng và với mẹ.
9 May he give Yahweh to you and find rest [each] woman [the] house of husband her and she kissed them and they raised voice their and they wept.
Cầu xin Chúa Hằng Hữu ban phước lành cho hai con nơi nhà chồng mới và sống hạnh phúc.” Rồi bà hôn họ, họ khóc nức nở.
10 And they said to her that with you we will return to people your.
Họ nói: “Không, chúng con muốn đi với mẹ đến dân tộc của mẹ.”
11 And she said Naomi go back O daughters my why? will you go with me ¿ still [belong] to me [do] sons in inward parts my and they will become of you husbands.
Nhưng Na-ô-mi đáp: “Các con về đi. Theo mẹ làm gì? Mẹ còn con trai nữa đâu để làm chồng hai con?
12 Go back O daughters my go for I am [too] old for belonging to a husband if I said there for me [is] hope also I belonged this night to a husband and also I bore sons.
Về đi, các con ơi! Mẹ quá già không lấy chồng được nữa. Nhưng cho dù mẹ còn tái giá được và sinh con trai
13 ¿ Therefore - will you wait until that they will grow up ¿ therefore will you shut yourselves off to not to belong to a husband may not [it be] O daughters my for it is bitter to me very more than you that it has gone forth on me [the] hand of Yahweh.
hai con có chờ được đến ngày con trai mẹ khôn lớn không? Không đâu, hai con ơi! Mẹ xót xa cho các con, vì mẹ bị Chúa Hằng Hữu trừng phạt mới nên nỗi này.”
14 And they raised voice their and they wept again and she kissed Orpah mother-in-law her and Ruth she clung to her.
Họ khóc lớn lên một lần nữa, rồi Ọt-ba hôn bà từ biệt. Còn Ru-tơ nhất định ở lại với Na-ô-mi.
15 And she said there! she has returned sister-in-law your to people her and to gods her go back after sister-in-law your.
Na-ô-mi lại nói: “Chị con đã trở về với dân tộc và với thần mình, con cũng nên theo chị con đi.”
16 And she said Ruth may not you entreat me to abandon you to turn back from after you for to where you will go I will go and at where you will lodge I will lodge people your [will be] people my and God your [will be] God my.
Nhưng Ru-tơ đáp: “Xin đừng ép con lìa mẹ, vì mẹ đi đâu, con đi đó; mẹ ở nơi nào, con sẽ ở nơi đó; dân tộc của mẹ là dân tộc của con; Đức Chúa Trời của mẹ là Đức Chúa Trời của con;
17 At where you will die I will die and there I will be buried thus may he do Yahweh to me and thus may he add if death it will separate between me and between you.
nơi nào mẹ qua đời, con muốn được qua đời và chôn nơi ấy. Trừ cái chết ra, nếu con lìa bỏ mẹ vì bất cứ lý do nào, xin Chúa Hằng Hữu phạt con nặng nề.”
18 And she saw that [was] determined she to go with her and she ceased to speak to her.
Thấy Ru-tơ quyết tâm, Na-ô-mi thôi không ép nữa.
19 And they went [the] two of them until came they Beth-lehem and it was when came they Beth-lehem and it was excited all the city on them and they [fem] said ¿ [is] this Naomi.
Hai mẹ con tiếp tục hành trình. Khi đến Bết-lê-hem, mọi người trong thành thấy đều động lòng thương. Các bà hỏi: “Có đúng là Na-ô-mi đó không?”
20 And she said to them may not you call me Naomi call me Mara for he has caused bitterness [the] Almighty to me exceedingly.
Bà đáp lời họ: “Xin đừng gọi tôi là Na-ô-mi nữa; hãy gọi tôi là Ma-ra thì đúng hơn, vì Đấng Toàn Năng đã xử tôi thật cay đắng.
21 I full I went and empty he has brought back me Yahweh why? do you call me Naomi and Yahweh he has testified against me and [the] Almighty he has done harm to me.
Tôi ra đi đầy đủ; nhưng Chúa Hằng Hữu đem tôi về tay không. Tại sao phải gọi tôi là Na-ô-mi khi Chúa Hằng Hữu đã làm tôi khốn khổ và Đấng Toàn Năng đã giáng họa trên tôi.”
22 And she returned Naomi and Ruth the Moabite [woman] daughter-in-law her [was] with her who returned from [the] region of Moab and they they came Beth-lehem at [the] beginning of [the] harvest of barley.
Vậy, Na-ô-mi trở về từ Mô-áp, cùng dâu mình là Ru-tơ, một người nữ Mô-áp. Họ đến Bết-lê-hem đúng vào ngày đầu của mùa gặt lúa mạch.
