Ruth 4
1 And Boaz he went up the gate and he sat down there and there! the kinsman-redeemer [was] passing by whom he had spoken Boaz and he said turn aside! sit! here a certain one a certain one and he turned aside and he sat down.
ascendit ergo Booz ad portam et sedit ibi cumque vidisset propinquum praeterire de quo prius sermo habitus est dixit ad eum declina paulisper et sede hic vocans eum nomine suo qui devertit et sedit
2 And he took ten men from [the] elders of the city and he said sit here and they sat down.
tollens autem Booz decem viros de senioribus civitatis dixit ad eos sedete hic
3 And he said to the kinsman redeemer [the] portion of the field which [belonged] to brother our to Elimelech she has sold Naomi who returned from [the] region of Moab.
quibus residentibus locutus est ad propinquum partem agri fratris nostri Helimelech vendit Noemi quae reversa est de regione moabitide
4 And I I said I will uncover ear your saying acquire [it] before the [ones] sitting and before [the] elders of people my if you will redeem redeem and if not he will redeem tell! to me (so let me know *Q(K)*) that there not except you [is] to redeem and I [am] after you and he said I I will redeem.
quod audire te volui et tibi dicere coram cunctis sedentibus et maioribus natu de populo meo si vis possidere iure propinquitatis eme et posside sin autem tibi displicet hoc ipsum indica mihi ut sciam quid facere debeam nullus est enim propinquus excepto te qui prior es et me qui secundus sum at ille respondit ego agrum emam
5 And he said Boaz on [the] day acquiring you the field from [the] hand of Naomi and from with Ruth the Moabite [woman] [the] wife of the dead [man] (you have acquired *Q(K)*) to raise up [the] name of the dead [man] over inheritance his.
cui dixit Booz quando emeris agrum de manu mulieris Ruth quoque Moabitidem quae uxor defuncti fuit debes accipere ut suscites nomen propinqui tui in hereditate sua
6 And he said the kinsman-redeemer not I am able (to redeem [it] *Q(k)*) for myself lest I should ruin own inheritance my redeem for yourself you right of redemption my for not I am able to redeem [it].
qui respondit cedo iure propinquitatis neque enim posteritatem familiae meae delere debeo tu meo utere privilegio quo me libenter carere profiteor
7 And this before [was] in Israel on the redemption and on the exchange to confirm every matter he took off anyone sandal his and he gave [it] to neighbor his and this [was] the attestation in Israel.
hic autem erat mos antiquitus in Israhel inter propinquos et si quando alter alteri suo iure cedebat ut esset firma concessio solvebat homo calciamentum suum et dabat proximo suo hoc erat testimonium cessionis in Israhel
8 And he said the kinsman-redeemer to Boaz acquire [it] for yourself and he took off sandal his.
dixit ergo propinquus Booz tolle calciamentum quod statim solvit de pede suo
9 And he said Boaz to the elders and all the people [are] witnesses you this day that I acquire all that [belonged] to Elimelech and all that [belonged] to Kilion and Mahlon from [the] hand of Naomi.
at ille maioribus natu et universo populo testes inquit vos estis hodie quod possederim omnia quae fuerunt Helimelech et Chellion et Maalon tradente Noemi
10 And also Ruth the Moabite [woman] [the] wife of Mahlon I acquire for myself to a wife to raise up [the] name of the dead [man] over inheritance his and not it will be cut off [the] name of the dead [man] from with brothers his and from [the] gate of place his [are] witnesses you this day.
et Ruth Moabitidem uxorem Maalon in coniugium sumpserim ut suscitem nomen defuncti in hereditate sua ne vocabulum eius de familia sua ac fratribus et populo deleatur vos inquam huius rei testes estis
11 And they said all the people which [was] at the gate and the elders [we are] witnesses may he make Yahweh the woman who is about to come into house your like Rachel - and like Leah who they built [the] two of them [the] house of Israel and make wealth in Ephrathah and proclaim a name in Beth-lehem.
respondit omnis populus qui erat in porta et maiores natu nos testes sumus faciat Dominus hanc mulierem quae ingreditur domum tuam sicut Rachel et Liam quae aedificaverunt domum Israhel ut sit exemplum virtutis in Ephrata et habeat celebre nomen in Bethleem
12 So may it be household your like [the] household of Perez whom she bore Tamar to Judah from the offspring which he will give Yahweh to you from the young woman this.
fiatque domus tua sicut domus Phares quem Thamar peperit Iudae de semine quod dederit Dominus tibi ex hac puella
13 And he took Boaz Ruth and she became of him a wife and he went into her and he gave Yahweh to her conception and she bore a son.
tulit itaque Booz Ruth et accepit uxorem ingressusque est ad eam et dedit illi Dominus ut conciperet et pareret filium
14 And they said the women to Naomi [be] blessed Yahweh who not he has caused to cease to you a kinsman-redeemer this day and may it be proclaimed name his in Israel.
dixeruntque mulieres ad Noemi benedictus Dominus qui non est passus ut deficeret successor familiae tuae et vocaretur nomen eius in Israhel
15 And he will become for you [one who] restores life and to sustain old age your for daughter-in-law your who she loves you she has given birth to him who she [is] good to you more than seven sons.
et habeas qui consoletur animam tuam et enutriat senectutem de nuru enim tua natus est quae te diligit et multo tibi est melior quam si septem haberes filios
16 And she took Naomi the child and she placed him on bosom her and she became of him a nurse.
susceptumque Noemi puerum posuit in sinu suo et nutricis ac gerulae officio fungebatur
17 And they called him the [female] neighbors a name saying he has been born a son to Naomi and they called name his Obed he [was] [the] father of Jesse [the] father of David.
vicinae autem mulieres congratulantes ei et dicentes natus est filius Noemi vocaverunt nomen eius Obed hic est pater Isai patris David
18 And these [are] [the] descendants of Perez Perez he fathered Hezron.
hae sunt generationes Phares Phares genuit Esrom
19 And Hezron he fathered Ram and Ram he fathered Amminadab.
Esrom genuit Aram Aram genuit Aminadab
20 And Amminadab he fathered Nahshon and Nahshon he fathered Salmah.
Aminadab genuit Naasson Naasson genuit Salma
21 And Salmon he fathered Boaz and Boaz he fathered Obed.
Salma genuit Booz Booz genuit Obed
22 And Obed he fathered Jesse and Jesse he fathered David.
Obed genuit Isai Isai genuit David
