Romans 1
1 Paul a servant of Christ Jesus a called apostle set apart for [the] gospel of God,
Paul, serviteur de Jésus-Christ, élu apôtre choisi pour prêcher l'évangile de Dieu,
2 which He promised beforehand through the prophets of Him in [the] Scriptures Holy
(Évangile promis d'avance par ses prophètes dans les saintes Écritures
3 concerning the Son of Him, who having come of [the] seed of David according to flesh,
et concernant son Fils né, quant à la chair, de la race de David,
4 who having been declared Son of God in power according to [the] Spirit of holiness by resurrection [from the] dead, Jesus Christ the Lord of us,
et, quant à l'Esprit de sainteté, déclaré avec puissance Fils de Dieu, par sa résurrection d'entre les morts, Jésus-Christ notre Seigneur);
5 through whom we have received grace and apostleship unto obedience of faith among all the Gentiles on behalf of the name of Him,
(Nous avons reçu de sa grâce la mission d'amener en son nom à l’obéissance de la foi tous les païens),
6 among whom are also you yourselves called of Jesus Christ;
(dont vous faites aussi partie, vous élus de Jésus-Christ).
7 To all those being in Rome beloved of God to [those] called saints: Grace to you and peace from God [the] Father of us and [the] Lord Jesus Christ.
A tous les biens-aimés de Dieu, fidèles élus qui sont à Rome. Grâce et paix vous soient accordées par Dieu notre Père et par le Seigneur Jésus-Christ.
8 First indeed I thank the God of mine through Jesus Christ (for *N(k)O*) all of you because the faith of you is being proclaimed in all the world;
Je commence en rendant grâces pour vous tous à mon Dieu par Jésus-Christ de ce que votre foi est renommée dans le monde entier.
9 Witness for me is God, whom I serve in the spirit of mine in the gospel of the Son of Him, how unceasingly mention of you I make always upon the prayers of mine
Le Dieu, que je sers de toute mon âme en prêchant l'Évangile de son Fils, m'est témoin que sans cesse je fais mention de vous dans mes prières,
10 imploring, if somehow now at last I will succeed by the will of God to come to you;
lui demandant toujours que je puisse une fois enfin réussir, par sa volonté, à venir chez vous.
11 I long for to see you, that some I may impart gift to you spiritual to the strengthening of you,
J'ai, en effet, le plus grand désir de vous voir, pour vous communiquer quelque don spirituel propre à vous affermir;
12 that now is to be encouraged together among you through the among one another faith of you both and of me.
je veux dire, pour que, chez vous, nous nous encouragions mutuellement, vous et moi, par la foi qui nous est commune.
13 Not I do want now you to be ignorant, brothers, that many times I purposed to come to you and was hindered until the present, that some fruit I may have also among you even as even among the other Gentiles.
Je ne veux pas vous laisser ignorer, mes frères, que souvent j'ai formé le projet d'aller chez vous (j'en ai été empêché jusqu'à présent), afin de recueillir aussi quelques fruits parmi vous comme parmi les autres païens.
14 To Greeks both and to barbarians, to [the] wise both and to [the] foolish a debtor I am;
Je me dois aux Grecs et aux étrangers, aux savants et aux ignorants.
15 Thus as to me myself [there is] readiness also to you who [are] in Rome to evangelise.
J'ai donc, pour ma part, grande envie de vous prêcher l'Évangile à vous aussi, habitants de Rome!
16 Not for I am ashamed of the gospel (of the Christ; *K*) [the] power for of God it is unto salvation to everyone who is believing — to Jew both first and to Greek.
Car je n'ai pas honte de l'Évangile; il est une puissance de Dieu donnant le salut à tout croyant, au Juif d'abord, puis au païen.
17 [The] righteousness for of God in it is revealed from faith to faith even as it has been written: And the righteous by faith will live.
Il s'y révèle, en effet, une justice de Dieu, qui vient de la foi, qui est accordée à la foi, comme il est écrit: «Le juste vivra par la foi.»
18 Is revealed for [the] wrath of God from heaven upon all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men the truth by unrighteousness suppressing,
Il y a une colère de Dieu qui se révèle du haut du ciel contre toute impiété et toute iniquité d'hommes qui méchamment étouffent la vérité,
19 because the known of God manifest is among them; God for to them has revealed [it].
car ce qu'on peut savoir sur Dieu est à leur portée, Dieu le leur a fait connaître.
20 The for invisible qualities of Him from [the] creation of [the] world by the things made being understood are clearly seen, the both eternal of Him power and divinity, for to be them without excuse. (aïdios g126)
En effet, les perfections invisibles de Dieu, son éternelle puissance et sa divinité, éclatent aux yeux depuis la création du monde, pour quiconque sait regarder ses oeuvres. De la sorte ils sont inexcusables; (aïdios g126)
21 For having known God not as God they glorified [Him] or were thankful, but they became futile in the thinking of them, and was darkened the foolish of them heart;
car enfin, ayant conscience de Dieu, ils ne lui ont ni rendu gloire, ni rendu grâces comme à leur Dieu; au contraire, ils se sont perdus dans des raisonnements sans valeur; leur coeur inintelligent a été plongé dans les ténèbres.
22 Professing to be wise they became fools
Ils se sont dits sages et ils ont été insensés,
23 and they changed the glory of the immortal God into a likeness of an image of mortal man and birds and quadrupeds and creeping things.
ils ont substitué, à la gloire du Dieu immortel des images représentant l'homme mortel, les oiseaux, les quadrupèdes, les reptiles.
24 Therefore (and *k*) gave up them God in the desires of the hearts of them to impurity to dishonor the bodies of them between (themselves, *N(k)O*)
Voilà pourquoi Dieu les a livrés à toutes les passions de leurs coeurs et à une impureté telle qu'eux-mêmes ils déshonorent leurs corps.
25 who changed the truth of God into the falsehood, and they reverenced and they served the created thing beyond the [One] having created [it], who is blessed to the ages! Amen. (aiōn g165)
Oui, c'est pour avoir substitué à la vérité de Dieu le mensonge, pour avoir servi, avoir adoré la créature au lieu du Créateur, — (Béni soit-il à jamais! Amen!) — (aiōn g165)
26 Because of this gave up them God to passions of dishonor; Even for females of them changed the natural use into that contrary to nature,
c'est pour cela que Dieu les a livrés à des passions infâmes: Les femmes ont remplacé les relations naturelles par des actes contre nature;
27 Likewise then also the males having left the natural use of the female were inflamed in the desire of them toward one another, males with males the shame working out, and the recompense which was fitting of the error of them in themselves receiving.
les hommes de même ont abandonné leurs relations naturelles avec la femme, se sont pris de passions furieuses les uns pour les autres, ont commis entre hommes des infamies et ont reçu en leurs personnes le salaire que mérite leur égarement;
28 And even as not they did see fit God to have in [their] knowledge, gave up them God to a depraved mind to do the [things] not being proper,
et comme ils ne se sont pas souciés de savoir qui était Dieu, Dieu les a livrés à un esprit d'aveuglement, et ils font ce qu'il ne faut pas faire.
29 filled with all unrighteousness (sexual immorality *K*) wickedness, covetousness, malice, full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness, gossips
Ils ont tous les vices, toutes les méchancetés, toutes les malices, toutes les rapacités; ne respirant qu'envie, meurtre, discorde, ruse, mauvaise foi; délateurs,
30 slanderers, hateful to God, insolent arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil things, to parents disobedient,
calomniateurs, impies, insolents, orgueilleux, présomptueux, ingénieux au mal, enfants rebelles,
31 foolish, untrustworthy, heartless (implacable, *K*) unmerciful,
inintelligents, parjures, durs, impitoyables.
32 who the righteous decree of God having known that those such things doing worthy of death are, not only them they are practicing but also they are approving of those practicing [them].
Ces gens-là connaissent le décret de Dieu qui condamne à mort ceux qui commettent de tels actes, et non seulement ils les commettent, mais ils approuvent ceux qui s'y livrent.
