Psalms 1

1 How blessed! [is] the person who - not he walks in [the] counsel of wicked [people] and in [the] way of sinners not he stands and in [the] seat of mockers not he sits.

Autuas se mies, joka ei vaella jumalattomain neuvossa eikä astu syntisten teitä eikä istu, kussa pilkkaajat istuvat,

2 That except [is] in [the] law of Yahweh delight his and in law his he meditates by day and night.

vaan rakastaa Herran lakia ja tutkistelee hänen lakiansa päivät ja yöt!

3 And he is like a tree planted at streams of water which fruit its - it gives at appropriate time its and leafage its not it withers and all that he does it succeeds.

Hän on niinkuin istutettu puu vesiojain tykönä, joka antaa hedelmänsä ajallaan ja jonka lehti ei lakastu; ja kaikki, mitä hän tekee, menestyy.

4 Not [are] so the wicked [people] that except [they are] like the chaff which it drives about it wind.

Niin eivät jumalattomat! Vaan he ovat kuin akanat, joita tuuli ajaa.

5 There-fore - not they will stand wicked [people] in the judgment and sinners in [the] congregation of righteous [people].

Sentähden eivät jumalattomat kestä tuomiolla eivätkä syntiset vanhurskasten seurakunnassa.

6 For [is] knowing Yahweh [the] way of righteous [people] and [the] way of wicked [people] it will perish.

Sillä Herra tuntee vanhurskasten tien, mutta jumalattomain tie hukkuu.
