Psalms 97
1 Yahweh he reigns let it be glad the earth let them rejoice islands many.
Jehova regiert. Es frohlocke die Erde, mögen sich freuen die vielen Inseln!
2 Cloud and thick darkness [are] around him [is] righteousness and justice [the] foundation of throne his.
Gewölk und Dunkel sind um ihn her; Gerechtigkeit und Gericht [O. Recht] sind seines Thrones Grundfeste.
3 Fire before him it goes and it may burn up all around opponents his.
Feuer geht vor ihm her und entzündet seine Feinde ringsum.
4 They light up lightning flashes his [the] world it sees and it trembled the earth.
Seine Blitze erleuchteten den Erdkreis: die Erde sah es und bebte.
5 Mountains like wax they melt from to before Yahweh from to before [the] lord of all the earth.
Die Berge zerschmolzen wie Wachs, vor Jehova, vor dem Herrn der ganzen Erde.
6 They declare the heavens righteousness his and they see all the peoples glory his.
Die Himmel verkündeten seine Gerechtigkeit, und alle Völker sahen seine Herrlichkeit.
7 Let them be ashamed - all [those who] serve an image those [who] boast in worthless idols bow down to him O all gods.
Mögen beschämt werden alle Diener der Bilder, die der Nichtigkeiten [O. Götzen] sich rühmen; fallet vor ihm nieder, ihr Götter [O. Engel; wie Ps. 8,5] alle!
8 It hears and it rejoiced - Zion and they were glad [the] daughters of Judah on account of judgments your O Yahweh.
Zion hörte es und freute sich, und es frohlockten die Töchter Judas, wegen deiner Gerichte, Jehova.
9 For you O Yahweh [are] most high over all the earth exceedingly you are exalted above all gods.
Denn du, Jehova, bist der Höchste über die ganze Erde; du bist sehr erhaben über alle Götter.
10 O [you who] love Yahweh hate evil [he is] protecting [the] lives of faithful [people] his from [the] hand of wicked [people] he delivers them.
Die ihr Jehova liebet, hasset das Böse! Er bewahrt die Seelen seiner Frommen; aus der Hand der Gesetzlosen errettet er sie.
11 Light [is] sown for the righteous and for [people] upright of heart joy.
Licht ist gesät dem Gerechten, und Freude den von Herzen Aufrichtigen.
12 Rejoice O righteous [people] in Yahweh and give thanks to [the] remembrance of holiness his.
Freuet euch, ihr Gerechten, in Jehova, und preiset sein heiliges Gedächtnis! [S. die Anm. zu Ps. 30,4]
