Psalms 8

1 To the choirmaster on the Gittith a psalm of David. O Yahweh lord our how! majestic [is] name your in all the earth [the one] who set! splendor your above the heavens.

١ إِلَى قَائِدِ الْمُنْشِدِينَ عَلَى الْجَتِّيَّةِ. مَزْمُورٌ لِدَاوُدَ أَيُّهَا الرَّبُّ سَيِّدُنَا، مَا أَعْظَمَ اسْمَكَ فِي كُلِّ الأَرْضِ، بِهِ بَسَطْتَ جَلالَكَ فَوْقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ.

2 From [the] mouth of children - and suckling-children you have established strength on account of opposers your to put an end to an enemy and an avenger.

٢ مِنْ أَفْوَاهِ الأَطْفَالِ وَالرُّضَّعِ أَسَّسْتَ حَمْداً، لإِفْحَامِ خُصُومِكَ، وَإِسْكَاتِ عَدُوٍّ وَمُنْتَقِمٍ.

3 If I will see heavens your [the] works fingers your [the] moon and [the] stars which you have established.

٣ عِنْدَمَا أَتَأَمَّلُ سَمَاوَاتِكَ الَّتِي أَبْدَعَتْهَا أَصَابِعُكَ، وَالْقَمَرَ وَالنُّجُومَ الَّتِي رَتَّبْتَ مَدَارَاتِهَا

4 What? [is] humankind that you will remember him and a son of humankind that you will pay attention to him.

٤ أُسَائِلُ نَفْسِي: مَنْ هُوَ الإِنْسَانُ حَتَّى تَهْتَمَّ بِهِ؟ أَوِ «ابْنُ الإِنْسَانِ» حَتَّى تَعْتَبِرَهُ؟

5 And you have made lack him little from God and honor and majesty you crown him.

٥ جَعَلْتَهُ أَدْنَى قَلِيلاً مِنَ الْمَلائِكَةِ إِلَى حِينٍ، ثُمَّ كَلَّلْتَهُ بِالْمَجْدِ وَالْكَرَامَةِ

6 You make rule him over [the] works of hands your everything you have put under feet his.

٦ وَأَعْطَيْتَهُ السُّلْطَةَ عَلَى كُلِّ مَا صَنَعَتْهُ يَداكَ. أَخْضَعْتَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ تَحْتَ قَدَمَيْهِ.

7 Sheep and cattle all of them and also [the] animals of [the] field.

٧ الْغَنَمَ وَالْبَقَرَ وَجَمِيعَ الْمَوَاشِي، وَوُحُوشَ الْبَرِّيَّةِ أَيْضاً،

8 [the] bird[s] of [the] heavens And [the] fish of the sea [that which] passes through [the] paths of [the] seas.

٨ وَالطُّيُورَ والأَسْمَاكَ وَجَمِيعَ الْحَيَوَانَاتِ الْمَائِيَّةِ.

9 O Yahweh lord our how! majestic [is] name your in all the earth.

٩ أَيُّهَا الرَّبُّ سَيِّدُنَا، مَا أَعْظَمَ اسْمَكَ فِي كُلِّ الأَرْضِ!
