1 To the choirmaster a psalm of David. Hear O God voice my in complaint my from dread of an enemy you will preserve life my.
`In Ebrewe thus, To the victorie, the salm of Dauid. `In Jerom `thus, To the ouercomer, the song of Dauid. God, here thou my preier, whanne Y biseche; delyuere thou my soule fro the drede of the enemy.
2 You will hide me from [the] secret counsel of evil-doers from [the] unrest of [those who] do wickedness.
Thou hast defendid me fro the couent of yuele doers; fro the multitude of hem that worchen wickidnesse.
3 Who they sharpen like sword tongue their they bend arrow their a word bitter.
For thei scharpiden her tungis as a swerd, thei benten a bowe, a bittir thing;
4 To shoot in secret places [the] blameless suddenly they shoot at him and not they are afraid.
for to schete in priuetees hym that is vnwemmed.
5 They strengthen for themselves - a matter evil they speak to hide snares they say who? will he see them.
Sodeynli thei schulen schete hym, and thei schulen not drede; thei maden stidefast to hem silf a wickid word. Thei telden, that thei schulden hide snaris; thei seiden, Who schal se hem?
6 They plot injustice we have finished a plot plotted and [the] inner being of a person and [the] heart [is] deep.
Thei souyten wickidnessis; thei souyten, and failiden in sekinge. A man neiyhe to deep herte;
7 And he shot at them God an arrow suddenly they will be wounds their.
and God schal be enhaunsid. The arowis of `litle men ben maad the woundis of hem;
8 And they caused to stumble him [is] on them tongue their they will shudder every [one who] looks on them.
and the tungis of hem ben maad sijk ayens hem. Alle men ben disturblid, that sien hem;
9 And they were afraid all humankind and they declared [the] deed[s] of God and work his they will consider.
and ech man dredde. And thei telden the werkis of God; and vndurstoden the dedis of God.
10 Let him rejoice [the] righteous in Yahweh and he will take refuge in him and let them boast all [people] upright of heart.
The iust man schal be glad in the Lord, and schal hope in hym; and alle men of riytful herte schulen be preisid.
